not a violent person. I'm a pacifist. But he just kept pushing and pushing and I pushed back. And quite honestly, after what happened last night with Eleanora, I'm happy I left him with a black eye!" George exclaimed to Izzie, looking over her shoulder at Alex on the other end of the locker room.

Izzie nodded, closing her locker. "If Alex tries to lay a hand on you, you let me know and I'll take care of him." She then leaned over slightly to speak to Eleanora, who was sitting on the bench tying her shoes. "And if you want me to take care of him at any time, just give me the signal."

Eleanora just shook her head, not looking up from her shoes. Everyone had noticed that she just seemed smaller, more reserved. Of course, Izzie, Meredith, and George all knew why, and Eleanora was sure Mer was updating Cristina over by her locker, if Cristinas angry and slightly murderous face was anything to go by.

Eleanora also knew that other interns were already catching on that Alex and Eleanora weren't acting normal. For starters, Eleanora hadn't skipped over to Alex as soon as she entered, and he hadn't walked over to press a hand on her hip or kiss her good morning. She gave it a total of half an hour before the gossip mill started going, and then she was never going to escape it.

Which was why she was keeping to herself, focusing on the task of getting completely ready and trying hard to keep her eyes off of Alex Karev.

Alex, however, seemed to be doing the complete opposite. He had gotten called back to the hospital late last night so he couldn't exactly run to Eleanora's house and apologize if he wanted to.

He was truthful in the aspect that he didn't want a relationship. Relationships were a lot of work and held too much trust, and he knew he'd mess it up big time.

Now, he just kept his eyes on Eleanora, checking her over. It took everything in him not to walk over and drag her into a private area to talk, or just ask if she was okay. But he knew with the Amedeo Guard Dog's, he probably wouldn't step closer than ten feet of her.

"Okay people, assignments!" Dr. Bailey yelled, marching into the room. Eleanora stood up, shrugging on her lab coat, keeping her eyes on her Resident. "Yang, you're on discharges. O'Malley report to room E19. Grey come see me, Amedeo you follow her. And was on call last night?"

Before anyone could respond, Bailey shoved a stack of charts each into Izzie and Alex's hands, looking unimpressed. "These are sloppy! Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. You two redo these and return them to me before lunch, understood?"

"Understood." Alex replied, clenching his jaw. He didn't look at Bailey, just kept his eyes on the back of Eleanora's  head.

"Karev, don't you tempt me. And you better keep icing that there eye. I don't need patients complaints about their doctor looking like he just go to out of an underground boxing match." She turned on her heels after giving him one last look, exiting the room. Eleanora and Meredith followed right behind her.

"You, Dr. Grey, seem to be special today."

"Meaning?" Meredith asked, looking at Eleanora with a confused expression. Eleanora just shrugged, a frown seemingly replacing her permanent smile.

"Well, you've been requested. And I decided to go ahead and throw Dr. Amedeo in the mix to make sure you stay in line and all the work is done perfectly! New Attending, gotta show them our best cards!"

They weaved through the hallways, Eleanora falling slightly behind Meredith. Dr. Bailey looked back when she didn't hear the happy chit chat that normally flew out of the young interns mouth, seeing the sadness clouding around her.

Bailey gave Meredith a look, almost as if she was accusing her of ruining Eleanora. The girl just shook her head, whispering softly. "Karev."

Dr. Bailey let out a 'humph', shaking her head. She soon slowed down, indicating they had reached their destination. Meredith felt panic rise in herself, Eleanora stopping beside her as she looked at the three people in front of them.

"The intern you requested, and a nice little add-on treat." Dr. Bailey announced, giving a smug smile. Burke nodded, giving one of his own when he noticed Dr. Amedeo added to the new Attending's request.

Eleanora looked at her, her red hair tied up just enough the show off her features. She was beautiful, but that just seemed like a requirement to work here now.

Eleanora noticed Meredith and Dr. Shepherds terrified and uncomfortable faces. She furrowed her brows at her friend, stepping forward slightly. She offered her hand, looking at the Attending. "Dr. Eleanora Amedeo, lovely to meet you."

The woman gave her a smirk, shaking her hand. "Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd." Eleanora's eyes widen, figuring out why Meredith and Derek were so uncomfortable. She quickly schooled her expression and pulled back, stuffing her hands in her coat pockets.

"Would you like to get started then, Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd? First day, probably have a good amount of patients to get through."

Addison raised an impressed brow, looking at Burke and Bailey. "I like this treat."

Bailey puffs her chest out in pride, nodding curtly. She turned her proud eyes to Eleanora, hoping to see the girl glowing from the compliment. However, she just seemed a little empty. Not like herself. And that worried Bailey, because apart of Eleanora's greatness as an intern and doctor was her personality and it seemed as though Karev had somehow stripped that away.

Dr. Bailey then decided if Eleanora wasn't fixed in a few hours, she would skin Alex Karev alive.
