The long arduous 14-hour flight from England had Ravuth willing away the hours and wishing the plane would go faster, with every minute feeling like hours he fidgeted throughout the flight as he chatted with Cake. Even though their lives had taken different paths, they both shared a common goal to fulfil their dreams.
Even though Cake had left Big Dave in charge of the day-to-day running of the bakery and pâtisserie, Cakes family took over the business side, doing the accounting and arranging outside deliveries. Cake saw how smoothly the business ran before he left as he concentrated his efforts on his adventure ahead.
As well as meeting the pâtisserie’s staff, Ravuth also met Cake’s family and everybody liked this humble old Cambodian, even Sarah, who blamed him for sending Cake bonkers. Cakes grandmother, Pearl, gave Cake two small parcels, one for him, and one for Ravuth, for when they arrived in Cambodia.
