Chapter 3: The Caravan and The Demon Lord

The elf woman he rescued approached Leonidas, her children twin siblings a boy and a girl by her side. "Thank you, Leonidas," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "You saved me from...from a terrible fate. My name is Eira, and these are my children, Arin and Lirien."

Leonidas nodded, feeling a sense of pride and purpose. "You're welcome, Eira. I'm just glad I was able to help."

Arin and Lirien looked up at Leonidas with wide eyes, their faces filled with awe and fear. "T-thank you, sir," they stammered in unison, their voices trembling.

The rest of the caravan began to stir, and soon the entire group was staring at Leonidas in wonder. His towering height and muscular build were unlike anything they had ever seen before.

Eira smiled knowingly. "Yes, Leonidas, you are quite...imposing. But it's not just your physique that sets you apart. Your armor, for instance, is unlike anything I've ever seen."

Leonidas looked down at his armor, realizing that it must be a giveaway of his otherworldly origins. "Ah, yes. I...acquired it from a...a friend."

Eira's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I think you'll find, Leonidas, that you have many...interesting stories to share. And I, for one, would love to hear them."

As they walked to a secluded area, away from the bustling caravan, Eira continued. "Leonidas, I don't know who you are or what you possess, but I sense that you are an otherworlder."

Leonidas raised an eyebrow. "An otherworlder?"

Eira nodded. "Yes. One who has come from beyond our world. And often, otherworlders possess...abilities. Strength, magic, or other talents."

Leonidas thought back to his sudden proficiency with the spear. "I see. And you think I might have such abilities?"

Eira's eyes sparkled. "I'm certain of it. And that's why I want to help you, Leonidas. You have a place in this world, and I believe I can help you find it."

Arin and Lirien nodded in unison, their faces filled with excitement. "Yes, Leonidas! You can help us! You can help us defeat the Demon Lords!"

Leonidas' eyes widened. "Demon Lords? What do you mean?"

Eira's expression turned serious. "Milim, the Demon Lord of Destruction, destroyed our land and killed our people. We are seeking justice, and we need strong allies to defeat her."

Leonidas' face turned pale. "Milim...Milim, the Demon Lord of Destruction? I won't fight her for you. Your kingdom murdered her dragon sibling, Gaia. This is a matter of revenge, not justice."

Eira's face fell, her eyes downcast. "I...I didn't know you knew about that."

Leonidas' voice softened. "I may not be from this world, but I know right from wrong. And I won't participate in your kingdom's cycle of violence."

Eira nodded slowly. "I understand. But we will not give up. We will find a way to defeat Milim and reclaim our land."

Leonidas thought to himself: "Wait, this is Tensura, the world of 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime'... I need to prepare for Guy Crimson and the rest of the Demon Lords, the Angel invasion, and Rudra... no, wait, it's Michael now, he took over Rudra. What should I do? Should I join the fight or stay out of it? I need to think this through..."

As they walked back to the caravan, a voice whispered in the wind, "We have a war to prepare for..."
