The Silver Esper [Stopped]

[Mature content] There are depictions of violence/gore and abuse towards characters. There is also swearing as well in this story. __________________________________________________________________ People with abilities, powers of which normal humans can not use. Monster's, freaks, people have called those with these abilities with such names, but there is one name that became attached to them eventually, Esper. The strongest of all abilities is physic, an ability that makes nearly anything possible for a skilled user. Sent to another world similar to her original she lives as Avalon Kanze a girl with rocky blood relations. Living in a country that didn't exist in the other world Niahurii, she is forced by her blood relations to join the military as a man. Unwilling, but the deal they strike is the only reason for her doing so. Avalon's lazy days in the military begin to change when that man appeared. Plans begin to change, new conflicts and allies begin to arrive. Can she keep her identity a secret or will they learn the truth? But most of all can she keep her darkest secret, the truth about her 'disease' and condition from everyone. __________________________________________________________________ "I can't believe they are forcing you to do this just to cut ties with them. How ridiculous since they've never treated you like family." "There is nothing I can do but to do this... as a man. On the bright side, we get to see the inner works of things here so we can use the useful points." "How can you be so optimistic when they are sending you to a suicide unit." "I've already died once and experienced true hell on earth. This is honestly child's play in comparison. So I see no reason to be afraid." Avalon sighed as she tightened the bandage around her chest. "Besides this world is behind in comparison. My ability will ensure I survive. So don't worry once it's all said and done. We will no longer stand for them. I will change this world from my 'home'. So dear brother be ready for the 2nd coming of Raijia's Silver Esper."

Torn Hands

Lukas looked at Avalon for a moment he couldn't forget what happened earlier. He let out a sigh and removed his gloves Avalon looked at him in slight confusion but didn't say anything. He then reached out and grabbed Avalon's left hand, she winched slightly due to the injury. "Ugh, I don't know why you grabbed my hand captain but it hurts. You are touching the wound it actually hurts a fair bit." Roan replied with a waving voice one eyes closed. He quickly let go of her hand. "Thank you for letting go… mmm I don't know the reason you grabbed my hand but…" 'he' muttered and grabbed his hand and made him touch the side of her face. "Hopefully this will work for the time being." Roan sighed letting go of his hand.

Lukas looked at his hand touching Avalon's face in surprise. "This doesn't hurt?"

"As side from you pressing a little hard no. I'm fine… my hands just sting." Roan replied looking at him with a slightly confused look. The medic came over and looked at the scene in shock.

"Ah! Captain?! 2Lt are you alright?" The medic exclaimed causing Lukas to remove his hand from Avalon's face. He looked at her face and saw that nothing was wrong no burning nothing causing his slight surprise.

"Yeah? Can you just bandage up my hands, please? I want to do some training."

"I don't suggest any training that requires the use of your hands for at least a few days."

"Yes I know I wasn't going to do that, I'll only use my hands lightly till the skin starts to scab over since it will mean the chance of infection will decrease, and my hands won't be as sensitive."

"That is… correct. Why do you know that."

"Ah… something similar has happened before." Roan lied with a slight smile. The medic held the gaze then begun to wrap up her hand as she asked. After Avalon's hand and fingers were wrapped up she mover her fingers a bit. "Ah, I can put my gloves on now." Roan said in a pleased tone grabbing her gloves from her back pocket. She slowly put her gloves on her hands before clipping them around her wrist. She moved her fingers slightly the light clicking of metal could be heard as she did that. "Thank you for your help." Roan said with a slight bow. "Also thank you for your concern captain." 'he' added with a slight smile before leaving the infirmary.

"How polite. What an interesting soldier." The Lieutenant—Colonel (LCol) medic Robert Stein chuckled slightly looking at Avalon leave. "I was also surprised by his injury. Quiet and easy person to treat. Is he one of the new recruits' captain?" he asked as he glances over at Lukas who was fixing his glove.

"He is. What do you think about them?" Lukas asked with a glance over at LCol Stein. His arms crossed as he wore a neutral expression.

"Well… I can't really say all the much but they seem to be able to keep calm in a high-pressure situation. Considering his injuries and lack of reaction when being treated he's more than familiar with pain. He's was respectful to me just due to me treating his injuries. Though for a man he is very small and scrawny you'd think he doesn't eat enough but looking at his hands they are calloused clear of hard training. Honestly, I find them interesting, which you must as well captain since you touched him without your gloves."

"How does that equivocate to anything? I was testing something. Though your full assessment is not entirely wrong. He got his injuries today due to an accident."

"Hmmm? What kind?"

"While climbing the wall it begun to collapse. He quickly assessed and determined that the ledge was also about to break off. He jumped from the falling ledge over to the rope climb. The injuries are what he sustained when stopping his fall."

"That would have been quite painful. But not only that he must have been confident in his skill to make it over to the rope climb. Did you bring him after that?"

"No, the idiot climbed the rope and jumped back over to the wall and finished the course. He wasn't even going to come here in the first place rather treat the injuries himself."

"Treat them… I wonder if he has some medical knowledge then? A burn wound like that is not that simple to deal with. It's an extremely painful abrasion as well." LCol Stain told Lukas.

During this time Avalon had gone back to the training ground and walked over to the pull-up bar. She jumped up and grabbed a hold of the bar then she raised her leg up and wrapped it around the bar before pulling herself up into a sitting position. Avalon looked around everyone was eating lunch she could smell the food from the mess hall. "I really wish I was eating right now." Avalon muttered as she salivated a little due to the smell of the food.

Ava shook her head slightly before fitting her legs against the bar and leaned backwards. She was then hanging upside down from the bar from her legs she let her arms hang above her head for a moment. The tips of her fingers couldn't touch the ground due to the height of the bar. She was above the average high for a woman in the country but below average height for a man. Antonio was a good 0.4 meter taller than her and he was just above average height for men.

Antonio left the mess hall and walked over to Avalon who was hanging upside down. "Got your hands fixed up?"

"Yeah. But I got to be careful for a while to let the wound heal properly."

"So I guess none of your normal training for about a week."

"Yes, and it is upsetting."

"Well, at least you can do this."

"Mmm."

Avalon began to do a few crunches and Antonio sat down and begun to watch her as he ate the last of his lunch in front of her. "You know you are a real asshole sometimes my friend cause you are defiantly doing this on purpose." Avalon growled glaring at Antonio. During this time Lukas left the infirmary and found Antonio and the upside-down Avalon glaring at Antonio.

"All these crunches do is strengthen my legs and core… which is not the area I need to improve." Avalon muttered as she did her crunches talking to Antonio as she did so. As Avalon talked with Antonio she wore a slight smile and her eyes had a softer look to them. She would occasionally cover her mouth to hide the smile that formed on her face as she laughed while they talked. After some time and some crunches, she arched her back further back and grabbed ahold of the bar with her hands before releasing her legs from the bar along her legs to slide off and swing down she let her legs hand for a moment before letting go of the bar.

"You know they probably won't get mad if you made food."

"Pfft yeah right. It a punishment remember. Besides, I don't know many of the Niahurii style dishes and cooking styles. I don't have a great explanation why I'm so familiar with western cooking styles so I'd rather not."

"You almost died today I think they'd let you eat."

"I don't care I'll deal with my punishment as I should."

"Sigh… you haven't changed in the few years it's been since I've last seen you."

"I've changed slightly."

"Jeez, you are not entirely wrong. But I bet you still have similar views."

"Of course. Why wouldn't I? I'm originally from another world and country and grew up entirely on those ideologies that are basically heaven compared to what were are currently dealing with. With how bad things are for my friends and people and knowing away to improve it... I would be an asshole not to try and change it at any cost. Sigh, sometimes I wish I could show you my old home. It was different, to say the least." Avalon chuckled slightly looking over at her friend with a slight smile.

"Well, I might not get to see it. But I've heard your stories and seen your art. It defiantly sounds like a different world." Antonio replied placing his hand on top of Avalon and ruffling her hair. "We'll either way. I'll always be on your side Ava, you can count on me." he added pulling Avalon over to him making them walk shoulder to shoulder.
