Determined

As the night passed by , everyone headed home . Scarlett and Daisy both finished two buckets of ice cream and didn't even care to touch the food . It was as if ice cream was more of a food to them . Once they reached home , they just crashed on the bed . None of them had the strength to clean up or change before sleeping .

The next day Naira and Daisy walked in on Scarlett packing her bags . " What are you doing? Are you going somewhere?" Daisy asked in disbelief as she couldn't imagine Scarlett leaving. " I'm packing up for the academy . I'm going to leave tomorrow at dawn ." Scarlett sounded determined . She had wanted to go to the academy to uncover all the mysteries and now was the time .

Daisy looked pale . It was as if someone had dragged a stake through her . " Then let me come along with you . I'll tell them I left because I got a call from my parents regarding my grandmother's demise ."

Scarlett didn't know what to say and when she said , she talked about how it would be suspicious if they both returned together . " I'll leave tonight for the academy and you leave day after tomorrow at dawn . You'll have enough time to come up with a reason for your return , you can't just barge into the academy . Prepare a believable reason and never let anyone know what you are ."

Scarlett nodded in agreement . She did have to come up with a believable reason because the forbiddens are restricted from ever coming back to Zeldia . She had to give them a good enough reason to take her in .

Daisy heads home to pack up while Naira sits down beside Scarlett ." She cares a lot about you . You'll have to look after each other in the academy . You cannot trust anyone there to keep you safe . The academy isn't the same as it was years ago . "

Naira gets up to walk out when Scarlett stops her ." Where are Daisy's parents ? " Naira's face

faltered , sadness was all over her face ." They died when she was just five . We found her all alone in the woods crying beside their bodies. It looked like they were attacked by werewolves .Her parents were from the academy and we believed whoever did this was also someone from the academy ."

Scarlett couldn't stop thinking about what Naira said .' How could god separate a five year old from her parents ?' But then she realized life isn't always fair . Life is all about facing the challenges thrown at us and emerging out of it , victorious or defeated . In the end , you'll have learnt a life lesson .

That evening Naira and Scarlett walked Daisy to the perimeters of the academy . They couldn't go any further as they'd be noticed by the elites who guard the perimeters . " I'll see you there in two days time . Take care . " She hugs them goodbye and walks to the academy gates .

Naira and Scarlett return back to the village where everyone was sad about Daisy leaving again . Daisy was a sweet girl , everyone loved her . She was raised by everyone in the village with a lot of love and everyone treated her like their own . Everyone was going to miss her again and for long this time .

After two days of long wait , it was time for Scarlett to leave for the academy . She was already packed up and ready to leave when Naira rushed in with a box filled with vials ." These are vials of potions for different things , I've mentioned what they do under every vial. They'll help you in emergency situations . " After saying this she motions for Scarlett to follow her .

She follows Naira to the kitchen and Naira moves the carpet .Under the carpet there was a small wooden entryway . " This is a tunnel which connects to the academy , but no one knows which part of the academy it is connected to . I don't think anyone in the academy knows about this either . You need to find out the route of this tunnel . It will make things very easy for us ." Naira steps aside for Scarlett to take a look at the entryway.

Just as Scarlett places her hand on the entryway , she is plagued by a feeling of panic . She couldn't understand why she was feeling it. " I keep having these feelings , when I touch anything . It happened the first time when I touched my parents' portrait . What are these feelings ?"

Naira wasn't surprised . She had noticed that the first time Scarlett had touched the portrait . " I know , I had noticed it . You're an empath . You can feel what others felt when you touch things , for now . You can feel what people are currently feeling too , but you must train for that .It will take time to improve your powers , so be patient and hold your calm . Do not at all cost lose your temper . Negative feelings bring out negative powers . " On hearing her last words , Scarlett was terrified of what it meant .

Naira along with two more people from the village came to bid goodbye to Scarlett . They stopped at the same spot they had walked Daisy to and bid her goodbye .

As she walked to the gates of the academy , the elites held sword to her neck . " What are you doing back here ?" . Scarlett was scared for her life , but she knew she couldn't let them see her fear ." I'm here to question the initiation . I want to challenge the initiation as I don't trust the results of the initiation . I know I'm capable enough to be in this academy , I don't deserve to be thrown out ." To her words , the three elites present at the gate stared at each other and started laughing .

Scarlett came forward and lit both her hands on fire .Though it was fire , it was a violet ball of fire with black flames . It was something no one had ever seen ." Good enough for me to question the initiation?"

They take their swords off her neck and one of them rushes into the academy. Several minutes later he returns with the principal beside him ." I didn't expect to see you back here . But I heard you've challenged the initiation . As the principal it is my duty to prove it to the students that no mistake is ever made in our academy. " The principal gives her a sly look , a look that mocked Scarlett to the very core .

She turns around and starts walking to the academy . " Take her to the same room she was living in ", she said turning half her body towards them and tiptoed back to the academy .

The elites open the gate for Scarlett and take her to the same room she was living in . As they were taking her to the room , she wished it was Daisy that was living in that room with her . " Hello ! You're back ? I thought you were never supposed to be back ." Daisy wanted to make sure the elites didn't suspect anything between them ." Looks like she'll be your burden again , beware of this one ." One of the elites says to Daisy and they leave .

As soon as they're gone , both start giggling like small kids ." Wait , you came to this academy only to find me , but how long did you stay ? It looks like they atleast know you ."

Scarlett was a little confused as the elites spoke to Daisy in a friendly manner even the first time they dropped Scarlett off at this room . " Maybe a month or so . They're friendly to me because they had caught me out in the forest many times during that month of my stay here . I used to go for runs in the night as I expected Naira to come meet me time to time ." They'd catch me and I'd indulge them in conversations to get myself out of detention ." To this Scarlett raised an eyebrow ."Detention? In a supernatural academy !? "
