I QUIT!!

"oh my God am late again"! Camila shouted as she got up from bed. she looked at the alarm clock and wondered why it did not ring.

"the battery's dead again" she said.

she cleaned the drool that formed at the corner of her mouth. Camila rushed into the bathroom and hurried her bath , she didn't want to get a scolding from her grumpy boss.

she quickly wore her clothes and rushed out.

"Anthonio why didn't you wake me up"?

she asked her eighteen year old brother who was making breakfast.

"I didn't want to bother you" he said as he turned off the stove boiling water.

"Gosh! you are a waste of time " she said as she filled her mouth with the sandwich which was already on the dinning table.

"Am off to work, see you soon" she ran off without shutting the door.

getting a taxi in the city was very difficult. the bus station was always full with people and the chances of losing ones property was at a high risk.

Camila had no choice , she wouldn't go to the bus station and she wouldn't stand there waiting for a taxi.

she stared outside for a while, grasping her sling bag tightly, immediately she smiled.

she decided to run....

"Good morning pa Pablo" she greeted the old man selling newspapers, she didn't stop to hear his response.

The old man smiled and waved happily at her, suddenly a cool breeze blew causing his newspapers to scatter around the road. little children shouted hapilly and ran to help him.

Camila stopped , she turned back to help him

"pa Pablo watch out!"

she shouted. the old man was already in the middle of the street, there was a vehicle approaching, Camila ran as fast as her legs would carry her and pulled the old man out from the road. they landed on the ground.

The vehicle pulled over immediately they left the road.

Camila got up from the ground and walked to the parked car. she knocked on the window.

"come out from this car before I drag you out myself!" she shouted at the driver.

immediately the car opened, a young man in his late twenties came out from the car.

Camila was stunned , she never imagined that the man who nearly hit pa Pablo would be this beautiful. she studied the man carefully. His hairs were neatly packed , he was tall and he had black dreamy eyes...

"I must not loose focus because of this beauty in front of me" she said to herself.

"why don't you tell your father to watch the road when ever he is crossing...my car is already ruined because of him"

"wait a minute, you car??!!!... that's all you care about"

" look I don't have time to waste I will give you some money so you guys can go sort yourselves out"

Camila was shocked , she had never imagined that those words came out from his mouth and to even think she was already admiring him.

"Here have this" he opened her hands and squeezed some notes there.

Camila threw the money on the ground and gave him a resounding slap.

"How dare you!!...you spoilt brat, in all my life I have never seen someone so handsome and stupid at the same time ...you disgust me!!" she hissed and threw his money at him.

he just stood there transfixed and watched as she left.

Some people around had already helped pa Pablo to a sit when Camila was busy giving the reckless driver a piece of her mind.

"Are you okay?" Camila asked him

"yes" he mumbled

Camila heaved a sigh of relief.

"what of the driver , is he okay?"

"forget about him" Camila said and helped the man up.

"Camila I can take care of myself, you are already late for work"

Work!!!... she had already forgotten about work during the whole incident.

"Are you sure?" she asked him

"yes...you don't have to worry"

Camila hugged him and started walking away.

she stopped a taxi and entered.

"where ma'am"

"the bakery" she said and looked outside the window. the young man had gone, she remembered she saw blood at the corner of his mouth when she slapped him.

Anyways, he was not her problem right now.

"you are late again!"

"Am sorry sir, I got into an accident on my way to work" she pleaded.

"yesterday your brother was sick, the day before you missed the bus, now today you got into an accident... really Camila??"

Camila just bowed her head , she didn't know what to say , she didn't even have the strength to talk , she was having a really bad day and the funniest part of it was that the day just began.

" you know what, I am tired of you flimsy excuse, you are fired !"

it hit her like a bombshell. she worked so hard to get this job at the bakery.

"I don't want to see your ugly , unlucky self anywhere around my bakery....leave my office!!" he yelled.

Camila turned and walked slowly to the door, she held the door knob tightly and immediately she turned back and faced him..

" I have worked my ass off in this bakery and it's not as if the pay is worth all my services. you do not waste any chance in insulting me , you know what , I had a really bad morning and I can't put up with all your bullshits, working for you is like hell on Earth and I am tired of living in that hell..." she paused for some seconds,

" so before you fire me...I quit!!!!" she yelled and walked out of the office banging the door.

the man was shocked to the bone marrow. none of his staffs had spoken to him like that before.

Camila walked out of the bakery, she stood in front of it and breathed in some air.

"finally, she had done it...the man had it coming somehow" she said and started walking back home.

once again she was without a job.
