"You only memorized the Poomsae moves without really practicing. How can you deserve a first-degree Dan belt?" Coach Hong shook his head, unimpressed by Ji-ho's explanation.
"But still…" Ji-ho tried to defend himself, though his voice weakened.
"Change to the white belt immediately!" Coach Hong cut him off, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Reluctantly, Ryu Ji-ho obeyed the order.
Instructor Hong's gaze was piercing, his expression stern, as he gave his command. Ryu Ji-ho could only let out a soft sigh before shuffling his way to find his white belt in the dojang office and tying it securely around his waist.
"Maybe I'll have to retake the first-degree black belt test...?" he pondered anxiously.
"Later, if I think you're ready, I'll discuss it with the head coach," Instructor Hong responded calmly but firmly.
