The Tea

Aisha quietly sneaked inside the kitchen of Raichand's mansion. When reaching the utensil containing the tea that was freshly made for Aditya, early in the morning before he could leave for work, by his maid-of-honor. She pulled out the jute pouch, which was hidden under her skirt, and poured all the black substance inside the tea, then steered it vigorously.

She was afraid that the tea might take the color of the poison and would show on the top but to her surprise it mixed well in the tea not leaving even a single lump of that poisonous powder.

'That bitch had indeed prepared a very strong and sneaky poison to kill her stepson. After all, All step mothers are bitches. Bloody Lioness. '

Before Aisha could leave the kitchen, the door opened with the ring of the bell, alerting Aisha that someone had arrived in the room. She quickly grabbed a utensil and added water to it.

"Madam? Do you need something?" It was Shasha, Aditya's maid-of-honor. The one who had prepared the tea and probably the one who will be blamed for the murder.

"Yeah, I was heating some water for myself. Cough!" Aisha faked her cough for few more times and then continued. "I think I caught a cold."

"I see." Shasha smiled and then poured the tea into the teapot. 'I'll have to dispose off that teapot, after Aditya drinks the tea. '

Aisha poured her water into a mug and sat at the table counter to drink it. Shasha left with the teapot and a cup in a huge tray.

Immediately, after Shsha left and the bell present at the entrance rang, Aisha placed her head on her palm. Her forehead had started to throb terribly and she could feel cold sweats all over her body. The fear and guilt of killing someone was eating Aisha from inside and she definitely couldn't bear to see Aditya die. After all, he had never mistreated her unlike her husband and her mother-in-law.

Half an hour later, Shasha came back into the kitchen to wash the utensils. She had a peculiar habit of drinking Aditya's leftover drink and on top of that from the same cup he had drunk from.

An action that clearly showed she was madly in love with Aditya. However, knew the difference in their status and consequences of her persuance towards him. Hence, never confessed.

Aisha had hidden herself in the closet, by the time Shasha came back to the kitchen. At the same time, she had asked Maya to distract Shasha immediately after she enters the kitchen. As soon as Shasha placed back the tray containing the teapot and cup, on the platform, Maya entered the kitchen.

"Shasha? Do you know where I can find a drug for headaches?" She asked.

"For the Madam?" Shasha poured the tea into the cup and took it to the table to sit and drink calmly, enjoying it's flavours.

Before she could take her seat Maya pulled her by her hand leading the cup to drop from Shasha's hand. "I'm sorry." Shasha stared at Maya furiously for a second and then towards the closet where Aisha had hidden herself.

Aisha held her breath tight, the thought that Shasha had found out about her being present there, made her shiver in fear. On top of that, she had also concluded that Shasha knew about poisoning, this terrified her.

Shasha opened one of doors of the closet. She reached out to the mop, that was lying beside Aisha and pulled it out without opening the other door. For a moment, Aisha and Maya both were out of breath and scared but soon clamed down.

Shasha cleaned the floor with the mob. "The medicine is in the case under the utensil hanger. If that doesn't work, please call up a doctor for madam." She said picking up the broken glass of the broken tea cup. The set that Aditya loved the most.

"I'm sorry Shasha, because of me, the tea cup broke. If my memory serves me right. I can recall that the tea set was the eldest master's favourite and now it's destroyed." Maya said pulling out a slip of tablet from the box lying below the utensil hanger.

Shasha threw the glass in the bin and then broke the teapot and other cups too using a hammer, she had found in the closet. She then threw all of the pieces of tea set into the garbage bin. "Master hates things that are ruined. He'll find a new favorite tea set and I know he will not punish me for this. So don't worry. Moreover, he was rather bored of the ten-year-old set." She replied then dashed out of the kitchen. She was, of course very upset about not being able to drink the tea.

Aisha jumped out of the closet and quickly transferred the broken pieces of the teapot into a black garbage bag.

"Madam? What's wrong? Why are you so concerned about that teapot?" Maya asked looking at how desperate and fearsome Aisha looked. Of course, Aisha didn't let her know about the poisoning event. The fewer people knew the better.

"Nothing. Everything is fine. Just let me do what I am doing and don't ask any more questions. I won't be able to answer them. Please." She quickly rushed out of the room with the garbage bag, unaware that a part of the used cup was left behind in the bin.
