Two

I sat silent through the drive to God knows where. For all I know, I'm either going to be a prisoner at this mans house like Belle from Beauty and the Beast or maybe I'm about to be a corpse floating down the river. I watched out of the passenger window as the familiar buildings and street signs turned into a blur of a forest as Kade picked up his speed going down the back roads.

Definitely about to end up in the river.

"What's on your mind, love?" The words rolled from his mouth so smoothly, it almost made me shiver.

A wave of annoyance overcame me and I snapped my head away from the window to finally look at him, taking a moment to take in how beautiful his face was in the light of the sun setting and how his previously strawberry-blonde hair was now that of a glowing ember, "Wha- Did you seriously just ask me that? I'm suddenly given to some hot, scary man to pay off some apparent debt my father owes and being taken to who the Hell knows where, and you ask me what's on my mind?"

The corner of his mouth lifted into a smirk as I watched his eyes shift down to look at me, "A hot, scary man, huh?"

My eyes widened and my face began to burn as though I shoved it into a 500 degree oven, "No! That's not-!"

His eyes shifted back towards the road, but his smirk never left his face, "Mhm, if you say so, princess."

Annoyed, I huffed and turned my whole body towards the window this time, sinking a little lower into the seat. I heard an amused chuckle from the driver seat, but I chose to ignore it.

"Cheer up, love, we're almost home." He said, this time with a bit more of a soft, gentle tone.

I again chose to not respond and gently rest my head against the car door, still observing as the blur of trees continued until I was able to slowly make out each individual tree as the car slowed and took a turn. I sat up taller and changed my view to look out of the windshield and let my mouth fall open at the sight of what Kade must have been referring to as home.

As we made our way down a long, paved driveway, we approached a huge, stunning house with dark brown siding, black trim, and several large windows to overlook the surrounding greenery. Kade pulled the car into one of several garages, I think I counted at least four. 

"You like it, huh?" Kade drawled. I nod as I slowly look over to him, still taking my surroundings in. As your eyes met, something came across his. A look I had never seen before in a man, but it made my heart flutter a bit and heat began to crawl across my cheeks. The look felt something dangerous, primal even may be the right word. And then it was gone.

Stuck where I was, recovering from that moment, I watched as Kade got out of the car and came to open my side, offering his hand to help me out, which I gladly took as I still felt a little dazed. What is wrong with me?

I followed behind him as we walked inside the house, admiring his broad shoulders and back, "I'll make sure you get set up in your own room, but for now you can put your things into mine." He spoke over his shoulder as we walked.

"I don't mind holding onto it while I wait." I said softly, not wanting to inconvenience him.

He stopped suddenly, causing me to almost bump into him. I had been so distracted that I hadn't even noticed we had come down such a dimly lit hallway with only one door standing alone at the end.

"Well too late, we're already here. Besides, you can have a shower in the meantime while your room and uniform are set up." Kade stated as he slowly opened the door.

I raised an eyebrow, "Uniform?"

Kade stopped opening the door and turned back to me, his blazing eyes staring into mine calmly, "Yes, a uniform. Remember I said I would take you to be my personal maid?"

I smacked myself in the head mentally, but physically I gave Kade a blank look. He did, in fact, say that, but was I expecting to have to wear some kind of uniform? Not exactly. 

"Don't give me that look, love. You don't have a choice either way. But I promise it's not some god-awful sexy maid costume or anything." He chuckled softly at the end and winked. My eyes widened slightly and I looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. 

"Whatever." I mumbled.

I watched as Kade rolled his eyes in an amused manner, then turned to continue opening the door to a room filled with natural lighting coming from a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. There also appeared to be doors to a balcony on the same wall. On the other side of the room, facing the windows, was a large bed with a black bedspread and two dark wooden nightstands on either side. The wall facing us on the other side of the room had two closed doors, I'm assuming one is a bathroom and the other must be a closet. We both stopped in the middle of the room. I felt his gaze focus on me as I continued to look around.

I heard footsteps coming towards where I stood and I quickly snap my head to his direction. As I looked over, I felt a large hand roughly grab my jaw and tilt it upwards, forcing me to become captivated in Kades gaze. I let out a small gasp. His beautiful blue eyes once again had that darker look to them, "You quite like it in here, don't you? Don't worry, you'll be spending a lot of time in here." He whispered softly, leaning his face down slightly.

I couldn't move. I felt my heartbeat pick up and heat come to my face, as well as heat arising down there.

Fuck.

Kade let out a soft laugh, letting go of my face and standing back up, "It doesn't take much, does it, love?"

That fucking bastard.

He turned and casually walked towards one of the closed doors on the other side of the room, opening it to reveal a bathroom, and began searching through a cupboard. He walked back over with a towel and cloth in hand, "Go shower, princess. Your uniform will be ready out here when you're done."

And with that, he left the room.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself, and stormed over to the bathroom. 

"Ugh! That stupid fucking hot fucking ginger. I swear to fuck-" He is gonna be the bane to my existence.
