Chapter Twelve
Seraphina's POV
I stayed put as the butler I identified as Second drove me to my pack in a brand new Mercedes. I could accept that that handsome jerk was quite wealthy. After I was shown the room that I'd be going to, I was taken to the garage and saw a variety of cars.
They were like different cars to pick from and Second even asked which one I wanted to take to my pack. He actually meant which one was accepted by my pack's laws but I've never heard a Mercedes was banned in a pack. Truly, many packs had silly shenanigans as Percy had said.
Like one time when an Alpha visited our past Alpha and refused to eat a particular stew made with spices from his rival company, saying he wouldn't promote it. He had to be made a different meal with his own company's spice.
Pack political and business politics. In my past life, I've had been fully into pack politics but now, I was into business politics. I hoped I'd be able to fare properly.
I pointed at an entrance when Second got close enough. I turned back to be sure the BMWs coming behind me also noticed where Second entered.
My pack members stared at the cars driving in and most mothers held their children because the cars were unfamiliar. Only the officials used cars and they were mainly driven by omegas who were familiar.
This Mercedes was driven by a 6'1 handsome blonde young man. Honestly, most of the butlers at that household could work as models, I didn't know what they're doing serving that jerk.
I directed Second to my apartment and behind me, I could see some pack members watching the car to see who'd step out. I chuckled lowly and arranged my hair to pour over my shoulders.
"We can leave now." I told Second and he unlocked my car door. I stepped out with a straight face, making sure not to look at the pack members who secretly scorned me for being wolfless.
I wouldn't give them the chance to show their scorn and I'd even given them reasons to scorn me more because unlike my nice mother, none of my wealth would be used for any of them.
Four men dressed in black suit and no ties, walked out of their cars and followed me inside. My mission was to take the important documents and smaller belongings then tell them how to take the remaining belongings that would be relocated by a truck. My mother's room hasn't been touched for months so I planned for it to be the first to move.
"Break it, please. I have no idea where the key is." I told Second. He signalled to one of those men and they grabbed a nearby rope. I wondered what he wanted to use it for when he could grab a stone.
He reached the door, tied the rope on the padlock and pulled it down, the force broke the lock. My jaw fell and the muscular man simply bowed before walking behind us.
I crawled towards the room because I knew how much of nostalgia and bitterness I'd be hit with soon enough. I slowly opened the door.
"Excuse me!" Someone yelled behind me, making me halt.
I turned to my back and my brows knitted together. A man in his mid-thirties stood hands akimbo, holding a key that I recognised as the one belonging to my mother's room. He had an offended look on his face and it pissed me off.
I knew him, the younger brother of our Beta and someone who helped me get a job in my past life, except he wasn't a good guy and had given an eighteen year old girl such a tasking job and made sure majority of my earnings went to the pack. "Do you know who he is?" I asked Second.
The young butler gave me a questioning expression. "You do not?"
In my past life, I met the Beta's younger brother after being declared as the Alpha's betrothed so right now, I had no idea who he should be. "No. And what are you doing here, sir?" I asked the beta's younger brother.
He frowned. "I am the caretaker of this house. Your father just died today, are you planning to move or what?" he looked behind me. "Why did you break that door—"
"How can you be the caretaker of a house when the owner still lives in it?" Second snapped his fingers and two of his men held the man hostage.
The Beta's younger brother had a panicked expression and I slowly walked to him, with disgust evidently on my face.
"Did you steal that key in your hands? Why will you strut into this place as if you own it? This place was built by my mother on my father's land. You have no right to even step on inch of it!"
His frowning face faded to worry, then he forced a smile, while looking around him. "I-I was handed the key by your father. They're some documents of your mother in there that shouldn't be touched so..."
I snatched the keys from him and he frowned deeply. Documents of my mother? Could it be related to Xexi? Why did my pack had access to that?
In my past life I didn't even know I was a heiress yet they had accepted the mother's documents. "What are the documents about?" I asked.
He became tight lipped, looking at the key in my hands.
"You stole this key, didn't you? There's no way my father would give this to you when I was still alive." I accused.
It was my word against his anyway and my father was no more so who would be easily believed? He said nothing still and it didn't bother me.
The men holding him searched his pocket for any other thing and since they found nothing, they threw him out of the house, literally.
