A tough battle (2)

Except it wasn't.

the voice was too calm to be the timid and semi shy girl he knew, no it was some beasts machinations causing sunny to hear this.

He became terrified at the thought, if there really was something out there that could do this then they have no hope of ever returning to the real world.

He clenched his eyes shut, never opening them as the beast demanded.

"open"

"open them"

"open your eyes".

it taunted in cassies voice before becoming agitated and letting out a hollow screech before its scratching voice repeatedly screamed.

"Open your eyes!!"

Only after the entire island fell silent had they actually opened their eyes, colours burned into their retinas as they observed the scene that lay below them.

The demon was still alive albeit barely.

It's once 8 legs had been reduced to a mere 5 and its large metal chitinous armour had dents, cuts and small penetrations littering the surface.

It had been worn down thoroughly by what had attacked it in their moment of visual decline.

Still it was enough and at the sight sunny and Nephis launched themselves at the demon their swords summoned in their hands as they prepared to fight the demonic beast.

Sunny was the first to land and he coated his sword with his shadow before assuming a half decent sword stance it was Nephis's sword stance just a slightly shittier version of it.

He was going to be the bait for the fight, the beast had seen sunny first so it was sunnys job to make sure he was the only thing the beast saw.

So he ran at the beast full speed and as it began to bring its chitin scythe down on the boy he ducked and slid at a shocking speed under the demon.

This gave nephis the chance she needed to land a critical blow to the demon, she covered her sword in pure white flames as she leaped high in to the sky before plunging herself back down onto the crab demons neck.

Her sword pierced the small penetration on the demons neck and then it ignited with flame, the bright white flame could be seen from the inside of the monster the flame was eating the demon alive.

Bright white light skin exploded from the demons back and encased the entirety of its body.

The creature was no more yet Sunny couldn't help but feel the same nervousness he felt before, what could be causing this.

nevertheless he now knew he had some peace to revel in, though it may not be for long he could now relax.

A few hours after the battle.

Sunny was resting letting the cool breeze of the morning sun smash against his face, the sun beamed into him giving the boy an almost ethereal look.

Then the sun was no more, Instead the visage of cassie covered his periferal vision. She was holding fruit , she raised one of the fruits to her mouth and ate it before offering sunny one of these fruits.

He took it gracefully and slowly took a deep bite into its surface, at the action the spell awarded him.

he looked at the fruit in surprise before reaching for another and wolfing it down.

'they're good!' he mentally exclaimed.

Alan did not reply.

sunny was worried at this but ultimately didn't care, why should he? He has the great amazing tree after all!
