Chapter Three: Watching The World Burn

Cassie had left Lysette's hut hours ago. She was saddened and wish she had gone with her, on some level, just to keep her safe. Though at the same time, she knew that she was needed here in the Underworld. Her job wasn't done. Gabriel still needed help, and she wanted to be there for him. Though having Cassie go on her own, seemed to also make her feel horrible. Cassie was one of the few Lycans left that Lysette was aware of. And she wanted to safe guard her as much as possible. Though, Cassie had made good points. There wasn't much of a home left for Lycans in the Underworld and that was something that could not be ignored. Their Kingdom was destroyed. Their people were massacred and their friends all had to pay the cost.

" Dammit" Lysette said to her self as she grabbed her things and made her way out of her hut. She knew she needed to follow Cassie. " Kara had better take care of you Gabriel...hell..you better take care of each other" She thought to herself as she ran after Cassie.

She ran as hard and as fast as she could and found herself nowhere closer to Cassie than when she started. She couldn't even pick up on her scent. Perhaps she had already made it to earth through one of the portals? Lysette knew of only a few portals that would take someone to Earth but most were well hidden. The portals had been made by the witches long ago, with a magic that was far beyond their own time. Which means that no modern Witch could possibly close them. This was why they had been guarded and only a select few even knew of their 3xisistance.

Though, over the course of thousands of years, the Kingdoms had each developed their own ways of traversing too Earth. Well that was except the Lycans who mainly used the portals, due to them not having a magical prowess.

Lysette continued traveling, to where she had assumed Cassie was going to go. The nearest portal, she was hidden between two large tree's in a giant forest. This forest had an ancient magic within it as well. It was at one time, the territory of the fae, small magical creatures with wisdom beyond most in the Underworld and was said to be the source of all magic within the world.

The fae had once called this forest home but had long since abandoned it. Where they left to, Noone had any clue. The fae had not been seen in hundreds of life times.

She arrives at the two large trees and the portal which seemed to be inactive for some reason. Lysette had not traveled here since she was a little girl with her sister and their parents. She was concerned that she didn't see anything, not even a hint as to where Cassie was. Everything looked completely undisturbed.

" I was almost certain she would come here " Lysette said to herself as she looked around but saw nothing. It was quite possible that Cassie knew of the other portal locations but Lysette had only ever remembered informing her of one or two.

" Perhaps she went through the portal.." Lysette said to herself despite having her reservations, she decided she would have to go in to find her. " Please don't be too far away" Lysette said to herself thinking of Cassie as she began to howl, which made the portal begin to glow a bright blue. Lysette took a deep breathe and ran into the portal.

Meanwhile, Gwen and Nate were settling in, Gwen was cutting up the deer like creature and was preparing dinner for the two. " So I'm thinking about going further out. Maybe get us some bigger food" Nate said, knowing that Gwen had been a bit opposed to the idea in the past but he wanted to bring them food for months and not just things that he would have to go out and hunt the following day for.

" Has it really come down to that? " Gwen asked, knowing that the further out he went, the further apart they were and the harder it would be to get to one another if trouble should arise.

" I mean, I would like the chance to stay home longer and not have to leave everyday. It sucks being away from you " he answers to which Gwen giggled out. " And your solution to being closer to me is to be further away from me" of course she knew what he was saying but that wouldn't stop her from teasing him every now and then. It was serious though, and was something she would need to think on a little more. Despite having said she would think on it for the last month.

" Well, I mean it would work. I know it will. And that way you won't be able to get rid of me for days at a time" Nate chuckles, walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her as she diced some of the meat.

" Well..if you think it will work.." Gwen hesitated. She knew this was something that was important to Nate. And plus it would mean more food for the baby so she would have to oblige at some point. " I promise, I won't do anything stupid or get myself into trouble. Things are going to be fine. I'm going to go out and hunt tomorrow and I'll bring us back all the food I can find" he kisses the back of her neck softly, brushing her hair out of the way so he has better access. " I will try my best to make do without you here" Gwen laughs as she bounces her hip back against him which pushes him away.

Meanwhile, Raven and Shawn had taken off to one of Ravens huts. It was far secluded from everyone else which meant that they would be able to finally have some alone time with one another.

" Finally...we can do the one thing we have been wanting to do for months.." Shawn pulls Raven to him and kisses her deeply. Raven kisses him back deeply before collapsing to the ground. " Dammit " Shawn sighed as he picked up Raven who had passed out from exhaustion and placed her on the bed. He then crawled into bed next to her and pulled her to him, giving her the best cuddles he could manage. It was at that moment that he felt a very cold chill fill the room. He knew this chill all to well. And though he felt a sense of dread, he was almost shocked that it would even be possible.

Shawn sits up in the bed to see his Mother and Father standing before him. His sisters were hiding behind his parents but he could see them despite their cowering.

" Shawn..we need to have a little talk" Shawn's Father spoke as Shawn climbed out of the bed, fearing the worst. He disobeyed their direct orders and he knew what happens if he does things such as that.

" Listen, I know I disobeyed your orders..but Raven needed me here. She was pregnant and I needed to be here for her. And I'm gonna be honest, I don't care if you want to punish me. But you will not stand in the way of me being with my child and the love of my life" Shawn ranted as his parents laughed.

" Shawn..we aren't going to punish you. We just wanted to ask you something" his father explains.

" You do realize that you have broken alot of our ways by coming here constantly, aiding the Underworld? And that by doing so, you have disrupted a lot of the energies within it?" His Father's words left Shawn standing still, speechless.

" You do realize that by coming here, and bringing your sisters into the quarrels of the inhabitants of this realm...you have shifted the balance of how things work. Not to mention, the sheer fact that everything has been unbalanced as is. Coming here, to this realm, it only confirms our truth. This world would have been out of balance without you here, and is still self imploding. Why do you think the sky was falling? Why do you think everything has been happening the way it has? The world is mixed up. Nothing is as it should be. Our jobs, as Night Slashers is not just to imprison threats to all the world's. But to also maintain balance. And with your presence, you have further disrupted it. Things could not happen as they should have happened" Shawn's Father explains and then continues.

" Now here is what I'm going to do. This world, it is doomed. Not completely, but it's not salvageable. So here is what I ask of you. Since, I do like this world, as much as I know you do, I ask you to do one thing and one thing only. Kill Gabriel "

Shawn stares in shock at the words he was hearing. " Kill Gabriel...why? " Shawn managed to mutter out.

" Because Killing Gabriel would reset the balance within the world. He cheated death, and came back. His presence here is only going to further disrupt the balance. He was suppose to remain dead. Now true, him bring with Kara, is what the fates wanted to happen. But he died, before it could. And that means that her fate changed. However, with him coming back, it has made a mess of things" Shawn opposed this though.

" Well Santara and Gwen came back? What about them? Wouldn't having them removed make up for everything? " Shawn tried to plead. But his father would not change his stance.

" Gwen and Santara are not important enough to the world's fate to actually bother with anything. Aurora was but she died. Mind you, she died in the incorrect way, as Gabriel was suppose to have no part in that. But she is dead and that is at least something positive from this. However, Gabriel needs to die too. As much as the story of the Underworld would love to see Kara and Gabriel together. It is unrealistic now. And that is something that whether you want to accept it or not, is the truth. Now, I am personally tired of seeing this world get corrupted anymore than it already has been. So, either you kill him or I kill him.

Shawn's sisters tried to plead for Gabriel's life but they were immediately put in their place by Shawn's Father.

" You can't expect me to Kill him.." Shawn growled. " He is like a brother to me. He is more than a brother to me. He is my best friend and you can't expect me to do that.." Shawn was angry. He would never take the life of Gabriel.

" Well then I will take care of it " Shawn's Father smiled as Shawn ran to him and begged on his knees. " Please don't, we will fix this. I don't know how but we will fix this " Shawn pleads but his father doesn't seem all too concerned with his Sons cries.

" Fine. But what happens to the Underworld is on your hands. You will watch the entire world burn including your daughter..and know that you could have prevented it. You could have stopped it. As for your sisters, they will not be returning to help or aid you in anyway. And from this moment forward, you are bound here to this land. You will stay here until either Gabriel dies or the world burns to the ground. Then and only then will you be allowed to return"

And with that, Shawn's parents vanish along with his Sisters
