Chapter Twenty Eight: Family Matters

It had not taken long for The group to telport back to Ravens tiny little Shack in the woods. They were on the run. And whilst they were safe for the time being, they each had a sense of overwhelming dread.

" What did you mean about the Blud..thing?" Aurora asked as she continued tending to Kara who was layed out on a straw bed. Raven looked at Shawn who proceeded to explain.

" I'm sure you are aware. Gabriel is the strongest of his kind. And there is a reason for that" Shawn looks down at Kara whose body is broken. He practically destroyed her mind, body and spirit.

" What you might not be aware of however is that Gabriel was born during what is Typically known as a blood moon on earth. Now whilst, moons usually don't effect Lycans all that much. Gabriel's parents, had researched into it and developed this obsession with the idea that a Lycan being born during one of these phases would actually increase his natural gifts. When a blood moon is in effect, All the world's energy is heightened. Everything is over sensitive. They had planned his birth for years and managed to time it just right. Now, whilst they were correct in assuming that he would be naturally gifted, there were also some side effects" Queen Aurora looked on, having a hard time believing that Gabriel's parents would do such a thing. She knew his parents very well. They came across as the type to care about such things.

" The side effects are basically that whilst he can shift, when his emotions run high, or he is mentally suffering, his shifting reacts on its own. Shifting his abilities, his hungry, his animalistic nature proceeds to become shared in his human form. This can be made worse by staying in his human form as it causes an unstable reaction in his body. His wolf form, is the release of that tension and animalistic instinct. But containing all of that in a human form for an extended period of time, would start to make him lose control. In order to control it, he needs to have control over his emotions and mind. Intense control that for the most part he possesses. But staying in human form so many years on earth, and then coming back here only to have a mental breakdown after being tortured..made him lose that control" Shawn explains as Raven intervenes. " And I had been making concoctions for his parents to give to him. If you remember Queen Aurora, you found me with some of them. You called it Black Magic and banished me for it. I was just trying to help him. The concoctions were to ease the pains and help him retain focus long enough for him to get back to the Underworld. And he hasn't had any since. I'd imagine he is becoming tolerant of the serum by now, it wasn't perfected" Raven explains which makes Aurora think back on the day that she exhiled Raven.

There was at one time, when Raven was one of the most promising witches in all of Auroras Kingdom. She was naturally gifted with a wealth of knowledge and could learn spells almost instantly. Queen Aurora had taken a liking to her and wanted to help her excel. Even going so far as to offering training to Raven at one time.

But then, one day, she found Raven, cutting her own arm and dripping her blood into a mysterious vile. And Queen Aurora knew that Blood was usually associated with a foreign magic. Witches had no need for the use of blood In their spells. So much so that it was forbidden to be used.

So when she discovered Raven, whilst she probably should have walked away, instead, brought her to trial. She questioned her what the vile was for but Raven refused to answer. Aurora didn't have it in her heart to execute her. Instead, she exiled her to lands far away from the kingdom. Leaving Raven to fend for herself. There had been so many times where Aurora had regretted this decision. And now, here they are again. For the first time since she exiled her, and Aurora was at a loss for words.

" If you had told me that it was for Gabriel I could've " Aurora tried to reason but Raven waved it off. " No. You did what you had to do. I couldn't give out the information because Gabriel's swore to me to never tell anyone. And I kept my word" She answered.

" So Gabriel. He has lost control over his wolf form is what you are saying more so or less? " Aurora asked to keep the conversation going. " Kind of. He is obviously extremely upset about what Kara did. He also is made with you Aurora. And with the Bluddavine..he is stronger, faster and yet more unstable. After the trauma he faced. We would either have to get the serum in him. It probably wouldn't work by now or we could wait until he comes back from his shock. But that could take years. Hell, he may never get over it. And that entire time, he will probably be hunting you and Kara down" Shawn explains as he sits down in the chair at the table.

Aurora looks over Kara, whose body is trembling. " I know what he wants and I know I have to give it to him so this can stop" Raven and Shawn look on. " He wants me dead. And I don't blame him. And...if it is going to save my Kara's life then I will give him that "

Raven interjects " No. I can still work on the serum. I can find a more permanent solution. I just need a little bit of time. No one else has to die. We can totally do this. Just have faith in me" Raven pleads with Aurora who seems to be in another place within her mind. " You have already said that it might not work. But this will. I will find a way to stop him. You Two have to take care of my daughter. My beautiful Kara" Shawn and Raven shake their heads no. " Just please- " Queen Aurora dissapears, teleporting herself to Gabriel before Shawn or Raven could react.

" I am here Gabriel" Aurora calls out to the figure in front of her. " I know you blame me for everything. And you are right. It is my fault. So if you want to kill me, I am not going to stop you. I'm not going to give you excuses. I'm not going to explain my reasons for doing what I did because I know you won't believe me. So go ahead..." Aurora kneels down on the ground with her head lowered. Gabriel had not stopped walking. " Get it over with" Aurora had accepted that this was her fate. She knew she deserved this on some level. She was just trying to do the right thing.

Gabriel doesn't speak a single word to her though, he continues walking until he has finally reached her, then and only then, he stops. He looks down at her, seeing the pitiful sight that she is. In this moment, there was so much he could say but felt it was better left unsaid.

" Gabriel...when you kill me. Please leave Kara alone. Despite what you think. She is inoccent. And she loves you. She always has loved you. And she was only with Pierce so she could get closer to save you. And she did kill Victoria, but she didn't do it on purpose. She wasn't use to her spells yet and it was an accident. It doesn't change things but it was an accident. "

Gabriel listens to her reasons and seems to think on this. The silence filled the area surrounding them with tension. Tension That made Aurora wonder why he hasn't finished her off yet.

Back at Ravens Shack, Kara had began stirring. Raven had continued the healing that Aurora was doing before she left. " Gabriel..." she called out. " I'm sorry..I'm so sorry..." She cried. Her eyes shut, but fluttered up and down as tears poured from them.

Raven looked back to Shawn who shared the same level of sadness. " I love you. I am so sorry. I know I'm not good enough but I- " Kara shoots up from the bed and screams. Raven pulls her into her arms and proceeds to comfort her. Assuring her that she was okay and that everything was going to be okay. Kara just sobbed and screamed. This made both Raven and Shawn uncomfortable. Not being sure what they could say or do to make things better.

" He is so mad. He is so so so mad. He hates me. He hates me so much" Kara cries which Raven tries to disagree with. " He doesn't want me anymore. He won't protect me anymore. He doesnt..he doesn't - " Kara chokes on her own words. " He doesn't love me. He did and now he doesn't. I fucked up. I fucked up so bad. I want to die. I want him to kill me " She continues " Why couldn't he just kill me. I want to die. I don't want to be here anymore. I can't be here anymore. Why couldn't he just kill me. I can't live like thiiiiiis" Kara is becoming hysterical at this point. She is hyperventilating and Raven is losing all control over the situation.

" Bring her back " Gabriel finally demanded. Queen Aurora was shocked and confused. She kept her head down still. " Bring who back.." not being sure what he was implying or he was talking about. " Bring Victoria back to me" he answers, not moving a single inch. Aurora continues looking at his feet. " You know I can't do that. It is forbidden. " She answered. She knew of the magic which he seeked. Her land had banished it long before she was even conceived. " I said...Bring it her back " Gabriel demanded again.

" I already told you that I can't. It's forbidden magic. And it's not even in a known language any more. I don't even think I could translate it" She lied. She could translate it but she refused to cross that line.

" Don't lie to me Aurora. Bring. Her. Back " his tone was picking up quickly and Aurora finally looked up to him.. " Just fucking kill me" Gabriel raised his hand in reaction to her answer when he heard a loud roar coming from the left of him. A gigantic wolf, this one with a darker red fur, similar to Santara's but much darker landed between them. The wolf stared Gabriel down as he lowered his hand.

" LEAVE" the wolf demanded from Aurora who nodded and did so by teleporting back to the Shack.

" What are you doing..." Gabriel asked the strange Lycan in front of him. " I am saving you from yourself. This isn't you..this isn't who you are "She called to him. He knew this Wolf very well. She was family to him. The sister of his mother. A face he had not seen since he was a baby. " Lysette".

" You need to think about what you are doing. You are causing destruction that you will not be able to repair so easily Gabriel" Lysette reasons though Gabriel would have none of it and answers in a cold tone. " You don't know what I've been through. You don't know what I've lost " Gabriel answers which makes Lysette take steps closer. " We have all Lost Gabriel. Get over it. It's not worth what you can still lose if you keep going like that. Do you even realize what you've done" She growls, though Gabriel still seems to not care. " I will keep searching. Until a find a way. And if you interfere in my business again. I will kill you " Gabriel turns and walks away from Lysette who barks back " I'd like to see you try nephew ".
