Chapter Six: The Dream

The water crashing against the rocks in the small creek drowns at the silence of the overwhelming sadness that Kara was feeling inside of herself. There he was, broken, bruised and bleeding in front of her and there was nothing she could do. " If only I had done something..if only I could do something" Kara weaped as she looked down at her battle torn Hero, Gabriel. Her Ankle still hurt but she should have fought through the pain. Afterall, he fought through the pain to carry her here despite being on the edge of death.

" I am useless. And I'm more trouble than I'm worth. I know that Gabe...but I really don't want you to die. I know you hate me, I know you probably resent me for having to do so much and give up everything just to protect me. I never wanted this either you know " She continues to cry as places her hand on his arm. " I am sorry..and I am going to fix this..I don't know how..but I will"

Kara tries her to best of think of ways to help. She never took those first aid classes back in school. And that is now another choice that she is deeply regretting. There had to be something she could do though.

" I'm a witch...maybe I can heal you or something" She tries her best to calm and compose herself as she places a hand over one of his many wounds. " I have no idea how any of this works..but it can't be that complicated, right? " Kara assures herself as she closes her eyes and does her best to concentrate on the wound and healing it.

Several minutes pass as she continues to concentrate, until she begins to feel a warmth on her palm. " Is it working?" Kara cracks a little smile with the thought that she could actually be helping. " Of course I've had my doubts about me being a witch, but maybe this is actually working" She cracks open her eyes and looks down to see that the warmth was not the healing magic working but rather Gabriel's blood coating the bottom of her hand.

" Shit..." She gasps as she can see that the wound is still very much there". And so she tries over and over again to make the spell work. The magic she had yet to harness and knew practically nothing about. But she was determined. She had to make this work " For you.." She looks down as the tears of her hope drip down her cheek and leap from her chin, colliding with her hand.

" CRAAAAACK"

The sound of sticks and leafs cracking behind Kara makes her immediatly turn around in surprise. She thought that they were alone and that they were safe now. If she dies here then Gabriel's sacrifice would be for nothing..

" Please God, not now" Her mind races back to the trio and wether they had returned or not to finish him off. Kara, reaches for the nearest weapon she can find which happens to be a sturdy stick that had fallen from a tree nearby. She knew she would more than likely die, but she had to do her best to fight off the danger. If she was going to die here, she would die defending him just as he had done for her.

The brush in front of her begins to part ways and through it, steps foward a rather small creature. It looks almost humonid, but was definitely not human. It had Green skin, pointed ears, and a long drooping nose that covered its mouth completely. " PLEASE JUST LEAVE...WE DONT WANT ANY TROUBLE. WE HAVE NOTHING FOR YOU" Kara shouts bravely at the creature who seems to brush her off and steps closer to the pair.

" I'm serious dammit..stay back " Kara points her stick at the creature, not entirely sure what it's intention were but refusing to let it anywhere near Gabriel. " You are in danger, yes? " The creature croaks out as it steps closer and closer to the two. " Yes...my friend is badly hurt and..we don't want any trouble. Please just leave leave.." Kara pleas with with creature who now had a small smile drawn across his face. " I help you" It waves to her and waddles its way over to Gabriel. This creatures is very small..probably around 3ft tall and Kara assumes she can probably take it if it tries anything.

That is unless it knows magic or something at which point she wasn't sure she would be able to handle it. She continues pointing the stick at the creature as it looks over Gabriel's body. " Oh. He is hurt bad. I will help him. He is good" The creature nods towards Kara as he lifts his hand over Gabriel's body to which Kara continues watching, ready to hit him over the head the first sign of trouble.

As the creature waves his hand over Gabriel's body, the wounds and bruises begin to dissappear from Gabriel's body almost instantly. " You know magic?" Kara questions, now feeling slightly more comfortable now that she can see that whatever this is, actually does want to help them. " Yes. I'm good at magic things. I am gooblin " He replies happily to which Kara half laughs. " Do you mean a Goblin? " She asks, having never heard of anything close to a ' Gooblin". " No, no gooblin is me " he replies, as he finishes waving his hand over Gabriel. " Oh..that is your name? Gooblin? " Kara tries her best to understand him though his voice is super raspy and yet almost gargly.

" Well my name is Kara, and it's nice to meet you...is my friend going to be okay? " Kara turns her attention back to Gabriel whose eyes are closed. " Yes. Yes. He will be fine. He needs rest. He will be fine in a few days " Gooblin reassures her with a confidence that is the most comfort Kara has known in a while. " Okay...well thank you for everything you have done. Is there anything I can do to repay you? We don't have any money but I think we have some spare food or something" Kara clutters around trying to find the backpack. It is at this point that he notices Kara's limp. " You hurt too? " He asks as he waddles over and waves his hand over her ankle which now feels better. " Wait..what" She no longer feels the intense pressure at her feet. " Thank..you?" Kara smiles a " See Kara later " And with that, Gooblin limps away back into the brush as quickly as he arrived. " Oh..." Kara Sighs as Gooblin dissapears and so she sits back down beside Gabriel.

Kara's thoughts trail back to the trio. Why would they follow and attack them? They didn't exactly steal anything and they either had no interest in her or simply couldn't see her. It is almost as though they had vendetta against Gabriel specifically. Perhaps there is something that he isn't telling her. " Fucking stupid" so mumbles to herself.

" Of course there are things he isn't telling me. Hell we have been thrown into everything so quickly and he just wants to get me to the Queen as quickly as possible. He doesn't owe me a damn thing so he doesn't have to tell me every single thing that goes on in his life " She Sighs and then remembers " But then again, he hasn't been here for a long time. And he was very young when he left. It would be very difficult for him to even make enemies when he has been gone for so long" She debates with herself. " So what the hell is really going on?" She lays back and decides that it might be better for her to rest and just try to let it go for now considering she didn't not have any way of getting the answers.

And with that, Kara falls into a deep sleep, edging herself as closely to Gabriel as possible. Despite, how things are between them. He does make her feel safe and she needs him more than she would really care to admit to him.And without him, she would be lost.

As she falls deeper into her sleep, , Kara finds herself within the walls of a room. The walls are pearl white and she sitting down at a long feasting table across from some strange lady with long blonde hair. Her hair seemed to almost radiant different colors like a rainbow, shinning and shimmering just like her skin. Pure as the snow that they were trapped in for so long. But this woman, offered a sense of familiarity to Kara somehow. Kara had never met this woman before but she felt safe nonetheless with her. " Kara..are you ready to take on your destiny? " The lady questioned, with a soothing voice that sounded something similar to what Kara could only describe as 'Angelic' .

" yes.." Kara answered, although it almost felt like she herself was not answering. It was as if something was compelling her to speak...and yet also speaking on her behalf. The lady across the table smiled, gazing deep into Kara's eyes with her own bright and beautiful violet eyes. Eyes that seemed to leave Kara feeling lost within a sea of purpose and meaning. The woman, smiles again " Then come to me my child, and let me show you the world that you've been missing" and with that, the floor beneath their feet seemed to fall away but both of them stayed perfectly seated In their chairs whilst the table floated above them and away from Kara's view.

They are now surrounded by a complete and overwhelmingly bright light. The seats slowly come together so that Kara and this woman are sitting directly beside one another as the they traverse through this light realm. " Who are you?" Kara asked, feeling herself gaining control over her ability to speak yet again. " I am your mother, and I have been waiting a long time to see you. I have so many things I wish to show. So many wonderful and amazing things" The woman responses. " Queen Aurora?" Kara questioned, remembering the name Gabriel mentioned earlier. " Yes. And this..this is your kingdom " The light that surrounds them begins to fade and now they are floating above the entire Underworld. From what Kara can tell. There are three main Kingdoms to the South, West and where she is which she assumes is North. And to the east there is nothing but an endless Purple sea, something so beautiful and majestic that Kara could have never imagined in her wildest dreams of being possible. " To The South, that is the Kingdom of Vampires " Queen Aurora points to the Giant Black Castle in the distance. It radiates a sense of history and yet negativity that Kara can't quite place. And yet, it feels familiar to her. " And to the west, The is the Lycan Kingdom " Queen Aurora points to another Kingdom. This Kingdom seems to be building from giant Grey stones. It is not as far away as the Vampire Kingdom but it still feels very much out of reach. Kara can sense the strength and Pride Radiating from this Kingdom and yet at the same time, overwhelming sadness. " That is where Gabriel is from.." Kara speaks, not realizing that it was loud enough go be heard by Queen Aurora who nods. " Yes. That is his home. To which he misses Dearly" She then turns them around and points to another Castle that Is almost directly below them. This Castle is completely silver and is absolutely stunning to look upon. It feels like Home to Kara. A feeling she had not gotten to feel sense leaving Earth. " Its..beautiful " Kara smiles in awe of the beauty of majesty that is the Castle of Witches. Though, Whilst impressed by the view, her heart grows sad again. " What is wrong my child? " Queen Aurora asks. " I miss my mom. I miss Earth. I know I didn't exactly make the most of my life back there but..I still miss it. And while this is great and all..I left Margerat all to herself. And she is probably dead now thanks to me.." Kara looks down at her legs and torn pants. Not realizing how much damage her clothing had taken from the Journey.

" Margerat was a brave woman. She took you in, knowing full well that someday she would have to give her life so that you could be saved. She sacrificed so much and that is why we will always honor her. Humans are wonderful beings, and she was one of the greatest. She did everything she could to protect you" Queen Aurora smiled as she placed her hand on Kara's shoulder. " We can't let her sacrifice be in vein Kara. You have to keep fighting and keep going. And I promise, we will make things right" To which Kara looks to Queen Aurora " There is so much damage that has been caused on my behalf. I don't think we could ever fix it" a tear streams Down Kara's Cheek. Queen Aurora smiles and wipes the tear from Kara and comforts Kara to the best of her ability. " Have faith sweetheart. We can fix this all. I know that it seems impossible right now but trust me, we can do this" and with that Kara awakens to find herself still laying beside Gabriel who thankfully still asleep.

" What the hell with that dream.." Kara groans quietly as she rolls over away from Gabriel and thinks back on it. Doing her best to remember every single detail of her mother's face and every other detail of the dream. " Or was it even a dream?". She knew magic existed now to some degree so perhaps her mother was doing something to reach out to her. Perhaps this was something to help push her to carry on. But still, this wouldn't alleviate the sadness that she felt inside. Losing Margerat, and almost Losing Gabriel is too much to bare for her. " No matter what it takes..I have to be strong. And I have to be better. I can't be so helpless all the freaking time. I've gotta get up and fight.." She thinks back on the encounter with Gooblin. " He was nice..but I'm not even sure I would've actually hit him if he tried anything. I'm not sure of myself at all anymore. Ive gotta get over this. And.." Kara thinks of Gabriel " I have to learn how to heal.. dammit" She curses at herself. " I should've asked Gooblin if he would teach me how to actually use healing magic. I mean..I'm not sure if I could even do it but giving it a damn try couldn't hurt" Her mind races with the hopes of running into Gooblin again so that she can make this request. Queen Aurora could probably teach her " but what if something happens before we even get to her" Kara fears the worst, especially after witnessing that attack yesterday. There had to be something she could do.

" Kara sits up and rubs her eyes and reaches down in her pocket for a hair tie so that she can tie her back back into a ponytail. A style that Kara tended to prefer to take when she knew she was truly determined to accomplish something. It had always been a little gesture for her that helped keep her focused. Though, she had not done so in so long. " I guess I just never had a reason to fight before...and now " She glances over at Gabriel and thinks back to Margerat " I've got more than enough reason.
