Chapter Fifteen: One Single Job

A loud roar rips through Gabriel's room, Gabriel and Shawn have arrived back with tensions running high. He has tried to not believe the worst of Queen Aurora but now his thoughts are running rampant. " What the fuck is wrong with her. We have been nothing loyal to the Witches. Our blood, our sweat and tears have been given to them and this is how we are being repayed" Gabriel paces around the room in a raging fit as Shawn watches on. " I must admit, I thought she would be more helpful. It seemed rather odd. But..now it leaves us with the question..what do we do next? " Shawn watches as Gabriel sits down on the end of bed, deep in thought.

" She was right about one thing. This would lead to a full scale war if we just went head on. But I have to find out the truth. I have to. Which means I am gonna have to go myself. The smaller the numbers the better. This can't be allowed to continue or my Kingdom will be lost all together." Gabriel pauses. " And that means Victoria can't come. She can't control herself and would end up making things worse.

Shawn Perks up at hearing the name of Gabriel's oldest friend. " Oh gods..she is still around? " Shawn had never liked Victoria. For a variety of reasons but the main one seemed to be from her attitude. She was always wreckless and he agreed that bringing her would be a mistake. Sure, she was an exceptional fighter. But her short temper would possibly cost them the benefit of going unnoticed.

" And you aren't coming either Shawn" to which Shawn replies in the saddest of voices. " But why...? " Gabriel looked to his old friend " Because I need you to stay here. I need you to watch over Victoria and make sure she doesn't get into trouble. When she finds out I'm gone..she is bound to do something stupid and I refuse to lose anymore people than I've already lost..." Shawn nods and agrees to this as Gabriel begins packing his things. " I don't know how long I'm going to be gone but I need you to also make sure the people don't panic. Let them know that I'm on my way to get a cure for the sickness and will return as soon as I can"

Shawn agrees to this as well as Gabriel loads up a backpack and turns back to Shawn. " Any chance you could teleport me closer to it" Gabriel jokes, though Shawn simply snaps his fingers both teleport right outside of the Lycan Kingdom. " Oh come on you ass..you know what I meant" but Shawn was nowhere to be found. " I guess I'll go fuck myself then " Gabriel Sighs as he begins walking in the direction of the Vampire Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Kara is in her room again. Her mother promises to continue the training tomorrow whilst the aid works its way to the Lycan Kingdom. She plans on increasing the training even more so due to the possibility of war. Which Kara is both excited about and yet worried. Kara had never been in a war, much less a war like this. She had heard Gabriel talk about it but she knew nothing could prepare her completely for what she might be facing.

But Gabriel needed help. He looked so angry at Aurora..and understandably so. There is so much she needed to learn so quickly and she was worried she wouldn't have the time. But if what Gabriel said was true..time is of the essence.

" No wonder he needed to get back so badly" she remembers the trouble she had given him about leaving and felt bad for it. There are so many of his people that could have died because of her greediness.

A loud crash thunders in the room and the cloaked figure who was with Gabriel appears In Kara's room. " So listen I'm sorry to burst in like this but - " a pillow launches from the bed and hits Shawn right in the face and then flops down in front of him. " .....As I was saying...I am sorry for bursting in but I need to speak with you about Gabriel"

Meanwhile, back at the Lycan Kingdom, Victoria rushes Into Gabriel's room after hearing the loud noise but doesn't see Gabriel in the room. " What in the hell.." She enters the room calling out to him but there Is no response. Victoria begins sniffing the air and gets a wiff of his strong scent. She runs to the window and looks outside, the window overlooks the kingdom and stretches for miles. She doesn't see Gabriel but she can definitely smell him. And the his scent seems to be going away from the Kingdom which makes Victoria worry. " I don't know what the hell is going on but I fully intend to find out..." Victoria shifts into her wolf form and leaps through the window, landing outside the walls of the castle and begins running at full speed to the edge of the Lycan territory.

" Shawn explains the situation as best as he can to Kara who is now out of bed. " He is going to the Vampire kingdom...by himself. Well that's fucking stupid. He is gonna get himself killed" She can't believe he would do something so wreckless.

" Desperate people do desperate things" Shawn answers as he watches her pace around the room. " Yeah? Well I guess that explains Victoria, doesn't it? " She hated Victoria with such a passion. She had never hated someone more than she hated her. She wasn't good for Gabriel. She was nothing but trouble and Kara could sense it from a mile away. " ooooooo buuuuuurn" Shawn replied which made them both laugh. That was until Kara began packing her things. " Wait..what are you doing? " Shawn was now looking very distressed. " I'm going after him " Kara replied confidently.

" Ooooooh noooo...please don't do that. I wasn't suppose to even come here.. " Shawn explained now regretting his choice to inform Kara. " Well then Why did you come here..if you don't mind me asking? " Kara stopped packing and looked to him. " Because I know you care about him. I can tell. I've been watching you both for a while "

" Even when we were on our way here? " Kara asked, not being entirely sure how to feel about being watched by someone else. It took her long enough to settle with the idea that Gabriel was doing it. " Yes..." He answered happily.

" Then why didn't you teleport us so we could get here quicker? " She stepped Closer to Shawn who looked panicked and then dissapeared. " Wait..can you at least teleport me to him.." and instantly Kara finds herself In the desert, right outside the castle walls. " You knew what I meant " and suddenly the clothes that Kara had packed along with the supplies appeared above here to the side, and fell to the ground. " For fucks sake.."

Gabriel has now shifted and is running as fast as he can to the Vampires Kingdom. He knows the closer he gets with each mile. The closer he is to death. The Vampires are ruthless and would feel no shame in killing the Lycan King. They worship the idea of torture and prolonged suffering.

He had to be careful. Which is why he refused to allow Victoria to tag along on this mission. She was hot headed and if he could get in as quietly as possible and leave..that would be the best case scenario. Not to mention, he worked better alone. He Had spent the better part of his life on his own and it was just what he was use to. And it suited him just fine.

The land is harsh going foward. The rocky terrain cuts at the bottom of his paws but he doesn't stop. He has to get there. He has to find a way to put an end to this sickness. This disease. This..infestation. there had to be a way. If he had to, he would kill anyone who got in his way.

And when he got home, he would deal with Queen Aurora. She had broken any sort of deal they had. A deal that Gabriel never made. A deal that his parents had made, but they are no longer here. He had been loyal. He had done everything asked of him. He had watched over Kara to keep her safe from any and all threats. And this was how he was repayed. It was betrayel at the least and the kingdom couldn't stand for it. His people would think of him as weak if he didn't do something. He had to do something. He always has to do something. He always has to step up and get things done. And most of the time, it's not for him. It's for Others. Queen Aurora, Kara, Victoria, his people.

He had given so much of his life to all of them and he had nothing to show for it. Nothing at all. And even as he ran, wanting to find the strength to stop. He couldn't. He was tamed. As much as he hated to admit it. He was tamed by the laws and traditions of his people. He had to act swiftly. He had to succeed. Failure was not an option here for Gabriel.

Shawn Teleports back to the Lycan Kingdom, directly outside of Victoria's room. He cracks open the door to peak in and doesn't see her in there. " Oh no. No. No. No. No. No" he realized that by going to see Kara, he had left Victoria unattended too. Shawn Sighs and teleports again. He is the middle of practically nowhere about 4o miles outside the Lycan territory. The sounds of heavy footsteps can be heard from behind him and so he turns around and is greeted with Victoria who slides to a complete stop, doing her best to not crash into him.

" YOU! " She barks at him.

" ME? " He answers back sarcastically as Victoria leans in closely, looking directly into the pitch black void that fills the hood where his face should be. " I should've known that you'd have something to do with this" She growls though Shawn is unphased. " What has to do with me? " he tries to play dumb even though he knows she is too smart for it. " Don't play coy with me Bonebag. Where the fuck is Gabriel going? What did you talk him into"

" He is going to get the cure to heal your people " Shawn answers truthfully. " At the Vampire Kingdom...?" She looks foward to the road ahead and then back down to Shawn who makes a nodding motion. " I'm going to help him " to which Shawn Sighs. " Please don't. He specifically told me to not let you find out about this. And now you know and..he is gonna be so mad..so...can you not? "

Victoria tilts her head to the side and Perks her ears. " You would rather that he die than for him to find out you fucked up?" She asks in general confusion. " Yes.." Shawn lies, knowing full well he is just concerned about Gabriel as anyone else.

" I don't have Time for this. Move! " Victoria demands with a commanding tone. " No" Shawn answers as he retrieves his scythe from behind his back. It is completely black with a distorted and warped even darker obsidian blade.

Victoria lunges at Shawn who fits the scythe, catching Victoria under the Jaw which sends her flying a few hundred feet back, crashing into the ground causing a small crator to form.

" You know you are not going to be able to win this. So why are you trying? " Shawn does his best to reason with Victoria " This isn't going to solve anything. I know you care about him but, he can handle himself. You have to have faith in him" Victoria, who finally gets back to her feet and shakes off the dirt. " I've been waiting a long time for this " and charges at Shawn again.

Kara is walking as fast as she can to the direction she remembers the Vampire Kingdom being in from her dream. She knows she doesn't have much time but using Spells to get their faster is a bit dangerous. She doesn't know alot of Spells that would be able to increase her speed and the ones she does know are a bit unstable.

" I have to try though..dont I? At this rate I'll never get there in time. " Kara moves her hands to her legs and places them onto them. She uses the concentration techniques that Aurora taught her and sends her energy to her legs. For the first few moments. Nothing seems to happen much to Kara's disappointment. " Well shit..I really had hoped that was gonna - " Kara begins flying at extremely fast speeds across the desert. Leaving her supplies behind. She is panicking and not sure how to stop but at least she is moving quickly now. That is until her altitude starts dropping and she sees herself heading down quickly over a sand dune. " NO...NO NO NO...NO NO SHIIIIIIIIIIT" She screams as she crashes into the dune.
