Chapter Fourty Three: The Impact

Kara had fled to another cavern deep within the Underworld. She knew of these caves after years of exploration and reading charts at her once former home within the Kingdom of her people. She had retreated so far down that the air was rather hard to breathe but it was also completely safe from any intruders. Most magic would not allow for travel to these depths and that meant she was both protected and yet stranded.

" I knew that she was going to go to him. I knew that she would turn me in " Kara pounded her fist onto a small table.

" She has betrayed me more times than I can possibly count. I am done with her" Kara growled to herself as she paced around the chamber.

" She is only doing what is right" Gabriel chimed in as he appeared standing next to Kara.

" No, she is selfish. They want to lock me away or kill me. They don't care about me or you or our child. They only care about themselves" Kara was growing more and more upset and Gabriel did his best to calm her down. " You have to think of the baby" he said to her softly.

" I am thinking about the baby! I'm the only one that's thinking about the baby. I am the only one that gives a damn. I'm the only one that wants justice in this world. And I am also the only one that sees the world for what it truly is. You didn't see it and you paid for it with your life. So many of our friends have paid for it with their lives time and time again and I am so sick of it" Kara was completely enraged.

" I know that is what you believe, but I promise that it's not true. Raven and Shawn do care about us, they always have. I think the situation is not exactly what it appears to be. And I know you will not ever believe me on that but I really don't think they intended to harm us..or intended for me to die. They love us, they always have " Gabriel reasoned.

" If they loved us then you would still be here" Kara argued.

" If I was still here, I wouldn't be with you" Gabriel's words stung Kara's heart and caused the deepest of wounds. " If you don't want to be here then why must you torment my mind in the way that you do? " Kara screamed at Gabriel.

" Again, It's not actually me. This is your mind. Which means that on some level you feel guilty about what you're doing here. You know that it is wrong. And yet you continue doing it despite that. That is one of the many reasons I would not be with you. You have lost your way" Gabriel explained.

" You always think that what you're doing is right even when it's wrong. And your stubbornness is cost of the lives of many people. And mine has as well. I am dead because I have to be. If I were alive, things would only be worse. Even you know that is true" Gabriel placed his hand on Kara's shoulder.

" You aren't suppose to be here but yet you are. So, make the most of it. Make a difference. Be the Queen that you were always meant to be, not the mate that you thought I wanted you to be" Gabriel vanished after his final words and Kara was left all alone.

" I will be everything I wanted to be and more. I am stronger now than I ever was Gabriel " Kara scoffed.

" I am more determined and more focused on what has to be done, whether anyone agrees with me or not. They didn't agree with me before and they don't agree with me now, so it's nothing new. But this time, there will be change. And nothing will stand in the way of it. The world can try to resist it, as much as it wants. But it does not matter. Because I am Kara, Queen of the Witches, heir to all magic and I am going to make a damn impact.." And with that, Kara closed her eyes as she tried to catch her breath. The pregnancy had taken alot of her and she needed to rest.

" Me back your highness" Gooblin walked into the chamber.

" Where the hell have you been? " Kara questioned, having not seen her friend in quite some time..

" Me had to do things" Gooblin answered as he walked over to Kara who was laying down on a straw, makeshift bed.

" What kind of things? " Kara questioned.

" The important things" Gooblin smiled as Kara, began to fall into a slumber which she had not planned on doing. The last thing she could recall seeing was Gooblin standing over her.
