Ronald woke up slowly, blinking back sleep. Someone was caressing his hair, but he couldn't see anything in the dark room. The sound of snapping fingers made the Duke's smiling, yellowed teeth visible.
"It's time for your revenge, Ronald. We know where the Pope is; the man that has been hiding the truth." The Duke rose from his position on Ronald's bed, "Rise, Hunters!" he said, his voice like a whip cracking through the room.
The Hunters scrambled to their feet and went to their formation, with Ronald joining them in line. Next to him, a pale-faced woman studied Ronald with cold eyes.
"We know where the Pope is! It's going to be a long but very satisfying trip," announced the Duke.
Everyone was already clad in their armor as they went up the stairs to the main hall, where they sat at the black table.
"You'll stay at the rear with Ronald," said the Duke looking at the woman. She simply smiled, and nodded.
