Chapter 118

The battle between Grendel and Roxanne was getting more heated with each passing second. As both of them are battle junkies they unknowingly entered into the zone. In their little world, there is no one else but them. And in their minds, there is only one thought.

And that is 'Beat the shit out of her/ him '.

While the battle went on Ladon was raking his mind trying to figure out what is Roxanne's secret. He didn't believe for a second that a girl could break his barrier with just brute force as that would mean she could defeat Grendel with just a slap.

He knew knowing this detail is very crucial for him to join the fight as his barriers were meaningless against her. So for the last few minutes, she was analyzing the fight with full focus.

With his observation, he only managed to conclude that those two swords were made from a very durable material as he didn't see any cracks even after enduring Grendel's onslaught. He could also tell that those swords had some amazing dragon slayer properties he could still feel some pain from the injuries he got from the swords.

But despite all this, he couldn't understand how those two managed to break his barriers that easily. And he wasn't giving up until he found it.

It seems luck was on his side as he finally got a clue. Due to taking up the battle up a level both of them began to use magic. Grendel's only notable magic is physical enhancement. And that girl also seemed to be hell-bent on competing that she also didn't do anything other than physical enchantment on her.

That was when Ladon found out something interesting. As soon as the swords get closer to Grendel his aura layer seems to get weaker the near the blade gets. It is as if the sword was devouring or nullifying the magic layer.

This went on for a few rounds before Ladon was finally sure of his reasoning. Those two swords have the property of devouring magic. Since his barriers are ultimately made up of magic power when the sword comes into contact with them it becomes weaker in a matter of nanoseconds. So Roxanne just needs to put in some small force to make a hole in the barrier and destroy it.

After arriving at that explanation L:adon felt a shiver run down his spine. Those swords are too dangerous to exist as they are the natural nemeses of the supernatural beings who use magic.

So without wasting any more time, Ladon joined the fight. Even though his magic is restricted by Roxanne's magic he still had some spells he could use.

' hey Grendel lure that girl towards me, I will set up a trap for her to fall into. ' Ladon used telepathy and sent a message to Grendel while he began to do his preparations.

'Ladon you bastard stay out of this, I still haven't had my fun yet ' Grendel replied as he ignored Ladon's order. No way he would stop this fight when he is having this much fun.

' you idiot did you forget our mission? And that girl is too dangerous to live. Did you not notice the weapon she is using can devour magic? And adding the dragon slayer attribute made it more dangerous for us. So quit yapping and do as I say ' Ladon snapped as he began to scold Grendel telepathically.

' Ok ok geez ' Grendel quickly backed down after hearing the irritated tone of Ladon. He knew if he pushed even a little bit further Ladon would fight him to the death without caring for the consequences. While he may be a battle maniac he wasn't a fool. He would never join a fight he has no chance of winning.

The poor guy had no idea that Roxanne was also one of the fights that he should have never joined.

While the two dragons were communicating with each other Roxanne had a bored and irritated expression. She was bored because these two were not giving her enough entertainment while irritated because these two took this much longer for them to finally team up.

Yes, Roxanne could perfectly see that Grendel was deliberately luring her into a formation that was being set up by Ladon. She didn't even need to eavesdrop on their secret conversation as it was plainly obvious. Dragons were never a bunch who used tricks to lure their enemy.

As to why she still let them lure her. Well, it would be rude if she didn't do as they wanted after all the work they had done.

'Hey Ciel how much time does that old pervert need to get that damn hammer ' Roxanne asked as she parried another claw attack that was aimed at her face while taking a step to the side.

' I estimate he would arrive shortly. Approximately about 15 minutes. ' Ciel answered.

' I see so how much time do you think these guys would drag this ' Roxanne as began to think of something.

' About 20 minutes ' Ciel answered as she analyzed their behavior patterns and predicted the time they would finally be able to lure Roxanne into their supposed trap.

' well if they are that slow I should just walk into that formation and be done with it. ' Roxanne thought as she looked at the two evil dragons with disappointment.

It seems she had her expectation level a bit too high for these two who only know how to fight crudly. Had it been Aži Dahāka here he would have at least given her a good fight.

' sigh let's just get this over ' Roxanne thought as she used her twin swords to block Grendel's claw. But this time instead of redirecting the force downward she used it on herself to propel towards the formation they were setting up.

And as soon as she landed she kicked the nearby Ladon towards Grendel. Ladon flew and hit Grendel making both of them fall on the ground.

" Damn, you bitch "cursed Ladon as he got with an angry expression. This bitch seems to be hell-bent on making him angry.

"So is this all you guys can do? I'm pretty disappointed. Well, Riozeviem never had any good taste in selecting subordinates. " Roxanne sneered as she began to speak some lines like a third-rate villain. She just needs these two to get this over with so she can go back and maybe have a fight with Loki. That bastard seems to be enjoying himself while playing Issei and his friends.

No fair, she also wants to join the fun. She still needs to test her new powers and scare the shit out of those council members. After all, they had the guts to commission an assassination request on her head.

While Roxanne was in her world thinking of how to punish those old geezers Ladon and Grendel have already activated the formation.

" eat this you stupid bitch" Ladon screamed as he activated his formation.

This formation is made from the combination of numerous time dilation barriers. The principle is to distort time on the target so they would be unable to even move a muscle as time flows differently for each part of their bodies. If a human were to be trapped here they would die as the blood flow is slowed down or was completely stopped in certain vital places such as the brain and heart.
