The diner

The girl is confused when she stands up to open the door to find two girls standing on the other side. 'Your majesty, I am Elana and this is Mercy. We are going to be your helpers'.

'The queen sent us and requested that we help you get ready for your first official dinner' the girl who introduced herself as Elena says.

'Come on in' she says as she leaves way for them for them to enter.

'We must help you get ready' the other girl says. 'If you don't mind sitting on the chair so we can work our magic' Mercy says.

Savannah does as she is told. As she sits down on the chair, she wonders how this is all going to go.

The girls get down to business as one of them begins brushing her hair and the other starts powdering her face with blush. 'You've got really beautiful skin' the girl who's powdering her face up says. 'You just have to make sure that you keep your face moisturized at all times. You've just got really dry skin and it's sensitive that's all' she says.

'Really, I have always thought that my skin was so horrible, now I think I understand why. I haven't been taking care of it like I should be' the girl says.

'Now that is done, we need to help you get something to wear, you need to wear something'.

'But I don't know what I what would be appropriate' she confesses.

'That is why we are here' Mercy says. 'We'll help you out and by 8:00 you'll be ready'.

'I think for a start, you should where this one, its beautiful and I will bring out your long orange hair' mercy says.

.....

Finally, after a whole of going back and forth between dresses they settle on a purple dress. It is just the right size for her and she like the feel of it, it's soft and gentle on her skin. 'How does this one look' she asks them. 'You look great' they complement her.

As she walks out of her chamber, two guards escort her to the dining hall. She gets a few stars from some of the servants that walk past her and she hears some of them whisper and laugh amongst themselves

She wonders why they would be doing so, once again her insecurities resurface. She doesn't know why she was born with this curse, the curse of not being beautiful. All she has ever wanted was not to be compared to her sister, all her life the only thing she has ever gotten from people is how he sister look exotically beautiful. And now here she was alone but still it seemed like her sister's presence was still lingering.

The guards finally stop by the door of the place that she assumes is the Dining Hall. She slowly enters the place afraid that she is late. 'There are you finally' the king says. 'I am sorry to keep you waiting' she says as she bows.

'Can you sit down; we were all waiting on you and you make us with even further by saying a whole speech' she sits down by the man's side.

'Can you pray for us' the queen suggests.

Savannah recites the prayer that she has prayed for all her life, the one her mother taught them when they when they were little. When she is done, she says 'Amen' and everyone follows behind her.

She opens her eyes and realizes that everyone around her has started to eat their food. She looks at plate in front of her and gasps. 'What's wrong' the king asks worried for her.

'I' sorry, it is just that I do not eat meat, ever since I was little, I have never eaten any meat' she confesses, with her head down afraid of being judged.

'We were not aware of that; we are very sorry about that' the queen says. 'Serrano, get the girl a new plate. Take this one away, put some vegetables no meat'. she commands the man.

'Yes, your majesty' he responds and quickly takes the plate away. 'How are finding your first day with us. Everything good' the queen asks. By now she has realized that the queen and king are really nice. The rest of the boys are all quiet keeping to themselves. That is until Isaac opens his mouth.

'That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of ,you don't eat meat. How can you not.' He says laughing. 'Sebastien be quiet, don't be rude' the mother scolds him. 'Mother , you don't tell me to be quiet. I do what I want' he replies.

The mother clears her throat and smiles at her and continues to eat her food. Can we just get this over with, can't we just fuck and call it a day' Sebastian says surprising everyone else in the room.' I mean that would be the best thing from us right now' he says looking directly at her.

She feels uncomfortable and is shocked at the fact that someone could say such a thing is mind-blowing. Never has she though in her life she would meet a man that is as potty mouthed as he Is. 'Isaac, could you stop talking' the mother says.

'What was that mother are you saying something or what, I am afraid I can't hear you 'he says standing p from his chair and walking out. 'Fuck all of you' he says before he walks out.

As soon as ,he leaves everyone quietly eats their food. 'The man comes back with her plate' Thank you' she says. She starts eating even though she doesn't have the appetite for it but that would be rude of her to do. If someone offers you food you don't decline the offer , you take it and thank them.

She realizes how much she is going to have to do right now. The man she is going to marry is nothing close to being a gentle man but she is going to work through things. She will give him the benefit of the doubt.
