Magic and More!

In the evening Cipher had a block of time when the blindfold would come off. This was always a little jarring to his senses because going from pitch black to looking at a lightbulb was never fun. Cipher enjoyed working with Axel, it was extremely fun and at the same time also tedious. Cipher found it fascinating learning about the numerous different mythologies, which in this world was actually considered history, if he had been on Earth he thought it might be cool to be a mythologist not that it would make him any money though.

One of the more interesting things Cipher learned from Axel was that Neverland was a real place in this world, and Peter Pan was actually a Knight of Light. Many of the different stories they went over were similar but differed on various details. One such example of this was the story of the Greek gods, on Earth Hades was made out to seem like this awful God who envied his brothers for sending him to the lower realm, in this world the reality was that Hades had chosen to. Hades being the strongest and noble of the brothers decided to become the warden of the Titans and evaluator of souls, letting his bother take care of the realms above.

Axel also taught Cipher about the different civilizations, species, and the Darkness found in (LDL). Axel had explained to Cipher extensively about the Darkness and how it was made up of four main groups with multiple subcategories: Rogue God's, Terrors, Dark Lights, and the broadest group Nightmares.

[Terrors] - S Class (Nightmare), S Class (Shadow), S Class (Creature), S Class (Dark Light), Corrupted Dragons, Dark Enforcers, hydras, Spider Queen, Leviathan, Devils, and Krakens

<Anything that can wipe out a city is considered a Terror>.

[Dark Light] - Corrupted Knight of Light (Fallen), Dark Apostles, Elder Vampires, Undead Knights (A Class), Warlocks, Dark Witches, Liches (A Class), Cyclops, and Reapers.

E Class: Goblins, Shadows, Undead Skeletons, Zombies, Dark Ones, Vengeful Spirits.

C Class: Oversized Reptiles, Oversize Spiders, Dark Beasts.

B Class: Liches, Undead Knights, Vampires, Werewolves, Basilisks, Drakons, Gargoyles, Incubus, Succubus, Ice Fiends, Fire Fiends, Shadow Fiends, Magma Beasts

Axel had not only explained but shown Cipher the differences in each of these categories, making it a point of going over what a Corrupted Knight of Light was and how they came to be corrupted. Listening to Axel talk about the different types of Darkness made Cipher feel sick, the fact that he would fight things like hydras, reapers, and possibly even titans filled him with fear. Understanding Ciphers plight Axel came to Cipher's aid explaining, "It is ok to be afraid if you weren't I would be concerned, but know that fear can be overcome with understanding."

Listening to Axdl Cipher became completely lost in thought, that was until Axel broke him of it saying, "People are afraid of things they don't understand, once they understand the thing they fear it is easy to overcome it. In this situation, the different types of Darkness can be harrowing, but if you understand how to defeat them you won't have anything to fear".

During his time with Axel, Cipher also learned about magic. Axel taught Cipher about all the different types of magic's the world had so far, some of those magics included, elemental magic (Fire, Wind, Earth, Water), sound magic, matter magic, space magic, and time magic.

The most interesting magic was void magic as the Goddess of the Void would only allow select Knights of Lights to utilize it. While Cipher learned about the different magics that the world had so far, that didn't mean he learned how to use them. The only magic Axel said he could actually teach Cipher to use properly was, reinforcement magic, sound magic, and a dimensional storage spell.

It didn't take long for Cipher to catch onto and understand sound magic, as well as learn how to use the sub-branch to it call sound manipulation. It would allow the Cipher to use sound too, distort, intensify, warp, and use as a physical force among a multitude of other things as well. Reinforcement magic took Cipher a little longer to grasp, it was just difficult to understand. Cipher had a difficult time comprehending how he was supposed to make someone's body harder than it actually was, let alone how to make a simple piece of paper hard as steel.

Lastly, The dimensional storage spell took the longest to understand and with good reason, first, not everyone could use it, and second, there was a lot to comprehend. Cipher knew he would need to use the spell after he left the church, so he dedicated himself to learning it, practicing it whenever he had the chance to.

Beyond magic, and the Darkness, Cipher also learn culinary skills, survival skills, and botany. Botany was one of the hardest subjects he had to learn due to the sheer volume of plants that Cipher needed to be able to distinguish from one another. Since he would be traveling Axel had told Cipher that it was important that he understand the different plants as he may have to live off of what was around him. Even though Cipher could survive being poisoned it was best if he knew how to avoid it.

Axel also insisted that Cipher know how to cook because if Cipher couldn't cook himself a proper meal there was no way he could survive on his own. Axel taught Cipher about which creatures could be cooked and how to properly prepare them. When it came to survival skills Axel taught Cipher everything from camping and mountain climbing to surviving an avalanche and making it through the desert. In the Land of Dreams and Legends, the environment could change at a moment's notice so it was important that Cipher could survive in any situation.

Cipher's days weren't just filled with training, every ten-days Axel would have Cipher go out into town to collect supplies. Axel used this as a way for Cipher to learn to communicate with people properly. Even though Axel knew Cipher would learn by trial and error he felt it would be better if he made some of the more obvious social mistakes know rather than later. One of the reasons he had asked for Yuri to train him was for this express reason, as he knew Cipher would probably end up gawking at her pointed ears and beauty.
