(C Class) - Dark Beast ~ pt2

Hideous, ghastly, grotesque, and foul all these words described the thing in front of Cipher, and yet, none of those words seemed to properly capture the true essence of its image. One thing Cipher was sure of it was big, {DEM~Cipher remember there are Dark Beasts with regenerative properties becareful}. Taking note of DEM's remark, Cipher prepared himself for what he was about to do next, Yuri taught him that he couldn't treat Dark Beasts like normal creatures attempting to parry an attack could backfire. Dark Beast's were most relatable to rabid animals, but with many having a higher IQ. Cipher's job in this situation was to keep moving while attacking, he had to make sure his attacks were coordinated and he didn't give the Dark Beast a chance to adapt.

As the Dark Beast got closer Cipher could see its sunken eye socks, and in the center of each, he saw what looked like a glowing orange marble. It was at this moment that Cipher with his Twin Stars drawn went on the offensive, running full speed at the Dark Beast. The Dark Beast noticing Ciphers approach let out a high pitch screech before going on all fours, making it's green wispy fur stand up. Cipher approached from the front only to have the Dark Beast use its tail to swipe at him. Cipher realizing the danger, twist flipped over the tail slicing it with his right blade as it passed under him. The creature let out another high screech clearly angered about having part of its tail cut off, {DEM~This is a physical type of Dark Beast it may have other ways of attacking we cant see}. Brandishing it's claws the creature twisted its body at the waist 180 degrees catching Cipher off guard. Before Cipher could properly respond, the Dark Beast, using its left claw swiped across and then up. Cipher having tried to avoid the side swipe had jumped, and not expecting it to change direction so quickly was caught off guard and set flying.

Cipher attempted to right himself midair but failed instead slamming into the ground instead. Raising up off the ground Cipher was met with another claw, this one fully intending to bisect him at the wait. Cipher bent backward like a professional limbo dancer just barely dodging the attack, [Thank Goddess I took Yuri serious when she talked about the importance of flexibility in battle]. The Dark Beast attempting to reel its arm back for another attack had left it back wide open, this was the moment that Cipher was taught to look out an opening to attack. He had been told to be careful of openings because there was a chance they could be traps, but if possible utilize them with good judgment. Cipher from the bent position brought his left blade up and around like a windmill before promptly slicing down at an angle, hitting the Dark Beast at its waist.

Giving screech that was louder then both its previous ones the Dark Beast twisted its body in an attempt to smack him with its tail again. This no different then the previous attempt failed, Cipher avoided it with a simple sidestep and lean, causing the the Dark Beast to end the move facing away from him. Having the chance to finally end the fight Cipher went in for the kill, what Cipher didn't know, was that is exactly what the Dark Beast wanted. As Cipher got closer the Dark Beast bent backward attempting to bite him, before contorting its body to face him. This resulted in the Dark Beast attempting to bear hug Cipher as it tried to bite off his head. Cipher using his quick thinking and reflexes dropped down and slide under the Dark Beast, at the same time he brought the Twin Stars from either side of his body out, slicing the Dark Beasts' legs. Jumping up and turning to face the Dark Beast, Cipher watched as it attempted to move towards him only to have its legs stay where they were set previously.

Giving another ear-piercing screech the Dark Beast claws started crawling towards Cipher at a surprisingly fast speed. Cipher wanted to end the battle quickly but knowing the magic he was taught previously wouldn't affect this type of Dark Beast, he needed to rely on his Twin Star blades to get the job done. Resolute, Cipher watched as the Dark Beast got closer, a visible glimmer in its eyes. Allowing the Dark Beast to get closer, Cipher waited for the moment that it would be in reach of him. Finally close enough to grasp the enemy in front of it, the Dark Beast used all the strength it had left in it's arms to lunge at Cipher. Cipher watching and anticipating this possible outcome dodged to the right. Cipher then stabbed his left blade through the chest of the Dark Beast, while seamlessly letting go as he brought his right blade over, taking off the Dark Beast's head.

Cipher was taught never to turn his back on the enemy no matter how small, dead, or innocent it may look, so Cipher waited until he was sure that the Dark Beast was dead. Axel watching the fight was happy with the results, Cipher was able to defeat a (C Class) - Dark Beast on his own without the use of magic. This was what Axel wanted for Cipher, the strength to protect himself and others, and the ability to move forward on his own. Axel was worried that Cipher would get critically hurt in this fight and that he would have to intervene, so it was a relief when it was over and Cipher was still in good health. Now Axel was experiencing the sadness of knowing that Cipher would be leaving soon. Once Axel gave Cipher the mark of approval, he knew Cipher would begin receiving missions from the Knights of Light and the Goddess of the Void, which would most likely take him far away. The only thing Axel could do now was hope and pray for Cipher's safety and that they meet again.

Cipher turned to look at Axel and noticing the proud look on his face said in a questioning tone, "So I guess I did well?" Axel nodding his head in response said, "Yes Axel you did very well. How about you use the Twin stars to dispose of the body and we go eat some lunch?" Cipher looked back and smiled, "That sounds great" then he walked over to the corpse of the Dark Beast and stuck the Twin Stars into it. Cipher was taught the all weapons provided by the Goddess of the Void had the ability to remove the Darkness, so once you defeated a Dark Beast, for example, you needed to use the spell "extradict" to send it back to the Void. After the body had completely dispersed, he brought up the system display to see if any of his stats had changed.

Pleased with his increase in stats he ran over to Axel and asked, "So what should we get for lunch?. Axel responded quickly, "I know a very nice restaurant in town that offers amazing ramen". After lunch, Axel sat with Cipher and explained what would happen next, "You did an amazing job taking care of that Dark Beast, Now, don't get a big head though there were many things you could improve completed the job given to you. This means I will be notifying the Goddess of the Void and the other Knights of Light Churchs that you are ready to receive assignments.

Cipher looked at Axel with a slightly sad look and asked, "Does this mean I will be leaving earlier than expected?". Axel sighed and then took a deep breath, "Yes it does, you will probably be given an assignment or task the next day. So for now I am going to hold off saying anything until tomorrow morning that way it gives you some time off, go and make full use of it because you may not get a day off for a long time." Cipher jumped up and hugged Axel, "Thank you, I wanted to see all the sights that Sol had to offer, I am going see if Toli can show me around tomorrow since it will be my last day....would you like to come with?"
