The Possessed Villain: My Life on the Doomsday Committee

Griswalden Silverth possesses Death's Route power and can predict the best ways to kill someone. He is a member of the Doomsday Committee, aiding monsters in world destruction. Aiden becomes furious upon discovering that Griswalden, his favorite villain, dies abruptly in the story. Dissatisfied with the ending, he expresses his irritation by cursing the author in the comments. The author responds calmly, "I'm willing to give you a chance if you think you can outperform Gris." Thus, Aiden mysteriously transmigrates as Griswalden Silverth in the web novel Rise of the Low-Class Hero. *** The storyline is slow. The MC goes to the villains' academy in chapter 40+. He had to go through many paths to join the doomsday committee. His life in the committee is still long but it will be the main plot until the end. English isn't my native tongue, so there might be some slip-ups in spelling, grammar, and clarity. However, I'm open to corrections if you point out any mistakes. I'm all about constructive criticism, so lay it on me (nicely). When you drop a review, it'd be great if you mentioned the latest chapter you read to help out new readers.

A Simple Request

Gris could guess what was in the minds of the four before him. None among them had been graced with the divine blessings, leaving their position worthless in Blayz's perspective.

Adopting many children made Blayz never lack the 'stock' of potential villains. Therefore, it was natural for the four to feel insecure with Gris's presence.

"I shall assume a role upon my arrival at the academy," Gris finally replied, yet his words only heightened the unease.

Alaric was the exception, as he did not show the slightest expression of worry. Only fleeting surprise appeared in his gaze upon hearing Gris' confession.

"Your faces already show what you're thinking," Gris chuckled, making Rowena frown in offense. Before anyone could reply, he continued, "Take it easy. I won't bother you as long as you don't bother me."

"Is that true?" asked Joana skeptically.

"Actually, I was considering killing one of you. Bond with strong humans would be advantageous, right? But I changed my mind because you came to see me with good intentions."

No one responded to Gris' words. They all had no good intentions towards him. If only he had not brought up the class, they would have ignored him after getting the information about Blayz.

Despite looking 'nice' to Gris, Alaric shared the same thoughts. He was interested in Gris because he unexpectedly had quite a good perception.

But he would not recognize Gris if it turned out that the weird boy had nothing but perception. He wanted someone who could keep up with him as he progressed. He disliked waiting for those who could not match his pace.

"You can call me Joan," Joana broke the silence by speaking and extending a hand to Gris. "I am a druid. I have deep connections with plants. Come to me if you need help with that."

Gris knew nothing about Joana because she was not highlighted in the story. Her unfortunate fate seemed to exempt her from the list of frequently appearing villains.

Nonetheless, her connection with nature might be helpful. He saw no disadvantage to building a relationship and willingly accepted her hand.

"Nice to meet you, Joan. You can call me Gris. I might need your help. I heard there are plant-type monsters. Who knows if I can bind that type of monster with my power?"

Joan nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds like it would be fun to try! I've communicated with plant-type monsters before."

Observing the smooth interaction between Gris and Joan, the other three followed her way to approach Gris.

"Did you and Father only talk about your power?" Rowena questioned after finishing with the brief introduction.

"Yes, we only talked about that. He agreed to give me a piece of land to practice on. It looks like he will also interview you all later. You should think about what you want from now on."

Gris took out his Wish-weaver Brooch at the end of the explanation so everyone could understand.

"Y-You're only asking for land?" Joan looked surprised at Gris' simple request. "I mean, you can ask for more, considering you've got the class."

"I just need land with lots of beasts for training. As a necromancer, I must gather black energy from dead creatures."

"T-Then, what about weapons?"

Gris slapped his forehead. "Ouch, I forgot about that because I was too nervous! Looks like I'll leave that matter to Father."

He acted as if he had just realized his stupidity. But everyone could tell that he was pretending.

Weapons were one of the important things needed in training. There was no way Gris would forget that. He must have done it on purpose.

Rowena clenched her fists in annoyance as she thought, 'Damn it. This kid is sneaky! Since he only asked for land, we can't ask for anything better than that!'

The others were also thinking the same thing as Rowena. Because Gris' request was too simple, they hesitated to ask for top facilities from Blayz.

Their father would often compare them to Gris, who made no demanding requests despite obtaining a class. The situation might have unfolded differently if he hadn't received Lord Veilrath's blessing.

"Actually, we have a training schedule that can't be missed today," Rowan spoke, realizing Rowena could explode at any moment. He had to take his sister away before she caused trouble.

Gris waved his hand. "You're the best kids in our group, so you must have a busy schedule. I'll see you later!"

Rowan simply smiled and pulled Rowena away, noticing her red eyes. As they distanced themselves from the Oleander pavilion, Rowena promptly vented her frustration.

"Sneaky little bastard! How could he get the blessing before me? I'm a genius recognized by everyone in this residence!"

Since childhood, Rowena had already shown talent in magic. Unlike the blessings of the gods, magic existed before the history of the apocalypse.

The magic humans could control was limited to fire, water, earth, and air. Magic can injure and kill. But before the apocalypse began, necromancers never existed.

No matter how powerful the mages were, none of them could control the dead. Everything began to change after the start of the apocalypse.

Rowena was predicted to get a legendary or mythical level class because of her speed in mastering fire magic. But it was Gris who received the god's blessing first.

Undoubtedly, her pride was badly hurt. She was irritated but did not dare to hurt Gris with her magic because Blayz would be furious.

That was why Gris confidently revealed his class to others. With Blayz's support, no one could touch him at the moment.

"I don't think you possess a strong will," Rowan stated bluntly, opting for truth over soothing her sister's emotions.

Rowena growled. "How could the gods choose that weird kid over me? Aren't I better than him? I'm fast at learning!"

Rowan did not respond to her sister's anger. Looking down, he stared at his calloused palms from practicing swordplay.

When he met Gris, he saw the boy's hands were calloused. It looked like Gris had tried hard with his failed necromancy experiment.

To keep trying despite failing is amazing. Having experienced a few failures, Rowena struggled to comprehend Rowan's perspective.

Rowan was not born with magical talent. He had to try hard to keep up with her sister because people always compared them. Because of that, he had less resentment toward Gris.

At the Oleander pavilion, Alaric and Joana still had not left. Gris was annoyed by their presence because he wanted to check the system alone.

"Is there anything else you guys want to know?"

Alaric raised his right hand. "Can I join the training on your land? You're only asking for land, so I can't be greedy and ask for land, weapons, and other useful things for my development."

Gris sighed. He deliberately did not say he was asking for a magical creature to make the others make ordinary requests.

"I'm not sure we're compatible," he tried to reject Alaric as gently as possible.

"You must not know what happens in this mansion since you rarely interact with anyone. You're safe for now. But what will happen if the others get the class later? Honestly, you managed to irritate Rowena."

Joana spoke up. "I agree. The twins' mom is a bit crazy. She will do anything to make her children stronger."

For a moment, Gris was affected by Joana and Alaric's words. But as they pointed out, he knew nothing about the happenings in the mansion, nor did the residents.

"To be honest, there's no one I can trust here. If you really want to help me, make me trust you. I'll consider our conversation over."

Gris took the teapot and cups back to the kitchen while Alaric and Joana left, as the host had no intention of discussing anything anymore.
