CHAPTER 24 The portal

PRESENT DAY IN THE MAGICAL KINGDOM

King James looks at lord lungu for a few minutes without saying anything, making lord lungu nervous. It is rare for lord lungu to feel nervous in front of another magical being but the dragon king has a way of making even the strongest of creatures feel weak in his presence. "Okay, I will wait for you to bring her to me. She is my niece, the only part of my sister and I will not spare anyone who thinks of hurting her." Lord lungu is about to respond when one of his guards bursts in, he looks like he just saw something scary.

"Sam, is everything okay?" Lord Lungu asks him with concern.

"Sorry for the interruption my lord but a portal has been opened in the dark gardens. Some of the guards have gone to see what's going on." Lord lungu looks at General Chanda for any incites but the General shakes his head letting him know that he also doesn't know what's happening.

"How is that possible? No one has managed to open a portal in the dark gardens for the past twenty-seven years." Lady Lungu says.

 After some of the witches and warlocks performed a forbidden spell to destroy the brotherhood. The once-sacred gardens of light were corrupt and species started calling it the dark gardens. After that incident, no one managed to perform any strong magic in them including opening a portal which requires a lot of energy.

Every being in the common hall looks nervous and some are scared. "I am sorry, your Majesty but can we continue our conversation later? I need to find out what's going on." Lord lungu says as he gets up from his chair.

"There is no problem, the safety of your ward is more important. I will come with you to the dark gardens, as you know I have not been there since the day I came to collect my mother's body twenty-seven years ago." King James says as he gets up from his chair also. 

King James's mother was one of the witches who died after casting a forbidden spell. King James had two mothers, Queen Aconitum his birth mother, and Queen Belladonna his young sister Princess Rose's mother. His father, the late king of the dragons, had two mates so King James' parents were in a triad.

After his birth mother Queen Aconitum was killed by the brotherhood, his other mother Queen Belladonna was broken and so she joined the witches and the warlocks who cast the forbidden spell to avenge Queen Aconitum's death. She ended up dying in the process.

As King James and lord lungu leave the common hall, Lady Lungu and her daughters follow behind.

As they head to the dark gardens they can feel the eyes of the other beings looking at them. The news of the opened portal in the dark gardens has spread quickly throughout Harmonia, the capital of the Great Mountains, causing a sense of unease and fear among its inhabitants. 

As they reach the dark gardens, King James and Lord Lungu are met with a sight that sends shivers down their spines. The portal before them is pulsating with a strange combination of blue and golden-brown light, casting an eerie glow over the surrounding area. The two men can sense the powerful aura emanating from the portal, causing their hearts to race with a mixture of fear and curiosity.

King James and Lord Lungu exchange a confused glance, both trying to make sense of the mysterious energy before them. They know that such a powerful force can only come from a being with a rare combination of royal dragon and pure vampire magic. However, according to their knowledge, no such being exists in their realm.

As they cautiously approach the portal, the air around them crackles with energy, making their hair stand on end. The sound of their footsteps echoes through the dark gardens, adding to the sense of suspicion that hangs in the air. King James and Lord Lungu can feel the weight of the unknown pressing down on them, urging them to proceed with caution.

As they stand before the pulsating portal, a sense of unease washes over them. The swirling lights seem to beckon them closer.

"I think we should take a step back

just to be on the safe side." King James says.

"You are right we do not know what will come through that portal." Lord lungu says as he takes a step back.

As they wait to see who comes through the portal, whispers of a dark witch begin to circulate among the magical beings. Rumors of a being who seeks to unleash chaos and destruction upon the kingdom, using the power of the portal to further their nefarious plans.

Some werewolf guards have transformed into their wolf forms ready to attack whatever comes through the portal. Some witches and warlocks are standing at a distance ready for what's coming.

"Be ready to shift once you sense danger." King James commands the five dragons he came with.

Just as King James stops talking, a man who looks exactly like lord lungu steps out of the portal followed by another man, two older women, and one younger woman. As he looks at the man who came out first he notices that he is carrying a young woman who looks unconscious in his arms. There is a blue light coming from the woman's left hand and a golden brown light coming from her right hand. The portal closes when all six of the beings come through and the blue and golden brown light coming from the young woman's hands disappears.

His heart stops as he looks at the young woman in the man's arms, she looks exactly like his young sister Princess Rose. He does not need anyone to tell him that that is his niece. The man holding her must be lord mike lungu, Lord Davon Lungu's twin brother.

"Mike," lord lungu calls as he takes a step toward his brother.
