Chapter 26

"Are these all your things?" Gene asked as he helped me carry my bags.

"Yeah. I don't really have much stuff I need to bring."

"I thought girls had more clothes than this."

"I have more books and video games than clothes."

He zipped one of my bags open to see what was inside. A game case was peeking out. "Animal Village? Really?"

"Hey, grownups can play games for children too! Don't judge me please." I defended myself like a certain ace attorney.

He laughed. "I have no right to judge really. I have the same game." He zipped the bag close.

We walked to Aqua Chrysalis carrying my bags. Prof. Dog, Ms. Cat, and Gene lived together on the second floor. All the bedrooms connected to their small private living room, where cats and dogs occupied half of the room.

"This will be your room, Miss Beatrice." Prof. Dog opened the door to the room beside Gene's. It was an ordinary bedroom with a queen sized bed, a side table, a desk, and a white wooden closet. I had no complaints at all.
