The guards around the perimeter of the grounds greeted Ji zue respectfully. He checked out the area and noted that there are no problems.

"How many shifts did you divide the patrols in to?"he asked as they made their way towards the grounds again. "3 shifts..in the morning one's I myself will be monitoring them while the 2nd one's are monitored by shiyu an.."

"Are you and sergeant Lin best friends?"he interrupted her. she was slightly taken aback at his question. "well you could say that. why do you ask though ?"she asked. "Because I don't find any arrogance in your tone when you talk to her unlike when you talk to me."he stopped walking suddenly and turned back to her..as she's walking behind him when he suddenly stopped she stumbled into him. He caught her by the shoulders. she looked up at him. Gods..her lips are really small he thought. Back when they were in her office, that moment when she stared at him unblinking..he had fought the urge to touch her long hair that's covering her eyes and forced himself to talk. Now he is having the same urge to touch her hair. Is it soft just like how it looks ? Shutup Ji zue. What on earth are you thinking about you idiot. Just then she looked away from him and he let go of her shoulders. In the rest of their way back to his office they were silent.

"My third will show you your room where you stay for the rest of the days. I will go back to my office now"she said when he sat on his chair he nodded and then she left. Song lin came back to her office and sat in her chair and released a breathe she didn't realize she had been holding.

Lu chen is browsing his phone when the door to his office opened. Ji zue entered and walked towards him and sat on the chair opposite to him. Lu chen looked at him and asked "You still didn't get any calls from the higher ups??"he shook his head.

"Why the hell would someone send a major to do an inspection?? Are their brains dead !!" Ji zue said annoyed. "Even I'm not understanding why they are doing this..Do you think this is really for an inspection?"

"I'm gonna kill them if that's really it "Ji zue answered. They were silent for some time.

"Do you think something big is happening?"Ji zue asked lu chen. "Honestly answering yes. Because they never send us on an inspection and that too for a troop with 50 soldiers? impossible." Ji zue nodded agreeing with him.

"Anyway let's enjoy our days while we are here. there are quite a few girls here unlike our camp where I can only see men" Lu chen said grinning at Ji zue. He threw a paper at lu chen just then the door opened and they both looked at the door. Lin shiyu came in her face wet with sweat probably from working out. her hair was tied in to a pony.

"If there is not anything you are working with now..I was ordered to show you your rooms."she said

"Didn't she say that her third is going to come?"

"Shi jin's not here at the moment"she answered. Ji zue and lu chen looked at each other and got up. Lin shiyu took them to the building where soldiers stayed. Generally most of the men stay in the first floor and women stay on the second floor. so she took them to the 1st floor. She opened the door to the first room on the floor and gestured them to go inside. they went in and shiyu followed behind them. their luggage was already brought in.

"If there's nothing else then I shall take my leave"she said

"Who said there's nothing else?"Lu chen said smiling at her. Ji zue shook his head and his expression is like go to hell I'm tired. Lin shiyu cursed under her breath but smiled sweetly and asked "Is something the matter captain Lu ?"

"well..I want to go to the infirmary"he said

"Infirmary? um..why?"

"Simply.."

Lin shiyu felt like strangling him to death. Ji zue shook his head helplessly feeling bad for lin shiyu.

As they walked towards the infirmary shiyu was silent but lu chen kept on blabbering something.

"Mr lu.. what would you do on the first day you were given leave?"shiyu asked him suddenly.

"obviously drink till I faint since we are not allowed to drink when we are on duty" he said almost immediately. shiyu laughed at that. "you seem to enjoy your life so much Mr lu"she said

"Well...Life is very valuable miss Lin. you have to appreciate everything you have right now since you don't know when you will loose them."

"You can try to become a writer if you ever think of leaving military"shiyu commented.

"haha..But I would never leave military miss Lin. Never"he said his tone unusually serious. She turned to look at him but he is still smiling as always, care free and lazy.."What? can't take your eyes off my handsome face ?"he asked without looking at her. she coughed and looked away and he smiled at her. Finally they arrived at the infirmary. Lu chen looked around and nodded his indicating his satisfaction. "You really maintain everything so neatly miss Lin" he praised. "Its not me. Capitain song doesn't like it when things are clumsy and everyone knows what her punishment will be when the cleaning duty isn't done properly."she answered him. He raised his brows at that."And what is her punishment that all of them are so afraid of breaking her rules?" he asked as they made their way back.

"A hand to hand combat with her " shiyu answered grinning to herself. he looked at her confused "Is she that hard to fight?"

"Ever heard of the scandal in which a captain broke a generals leg in a combat?" he stopped in his tracks when he heard that and whipped his head towards her his face filled with shock. "Its song lin who broke my aunts leg????!!!!"he asked. "General Lu is your aunt?"she asked shocked like hell. he nodded.She immediately covered her mouth and murmured "I shouldn't have said that to you" lu chen caught her shoulders and shook her "that's not the point. you know how happy I was when I heard someone broke her leg!!"he said laughing like an idiot. But shiyu just stared at him. He was uncomfortably close to her and he is still not letting go of her shoulders. But she's not thinking about any if this. Her gaze was on the lock of his hair that fell on to his forehead. It is very very distracting. her hand is itching to push it back. seeing that the girl is not speaking anything he realized he'd been holding her so he let go of her immediately and shiyu heaved a sigh of relief. they parted their ways on the first floor.
