Remember good things

They reached the military grounds. Lin shiyu parked the car and followed Lu chen inside. It's near noon when they reached the grounds and soldiers are heading towards the cafeteria. He also felt a little hungry so he looked up at shiyu thinking she might also be hungry but found her eyes searching for someone and he smiled. At how eager she is to tell song lin about the shield.

"don't tell her that I'm the one who gave you the shield"

"Why not?" she asked surprised

"Because she might like me. You obviously know that it's quite hard for girls to not like me right? especially when I do something like this " he said and grinned at her. She rolled her eyes at him. But she went silent again.

"You really did a thing that means so much to her" she said her crystal clear eyes had a faint light of gratitude.

"I did it for you miss Lin" he said abruptly. She was surprised at the seriousness in his voice. His eyes at that moment had something she never saw in him before. something intense. something more than cheerfulness and career free smile. He smiled at her. His eyes shone under the afternoon light. Making his face charming than ever. Her heart skipped a bit and she looked away.

"I'm going to song lin" she said and walked as fast as she could but she didn't know what she was running from. He stared at her retreating back, a faint smile tugging at his corner of lips.

"You look like an idiot" said a voice beside him. He turned and saw Ji zue standing beside him.

"Can you not be so quite while walking. It kinda creeps me out" Ji zue ignored this and asked him "Where were you in the morning?" Lu chen didn't speak for a moment then told him the whole story. Ji zue looked up at him surprised at the whole shield fixing thing. Lu chen sighed at his look.

"When I saw the way shiyu reacted in Song lin's office I decided to help. It's not a big thing anyway...doing some help doesn't cost me anything right?" he said and looked at Ji zue and found him grinning at Lu chen.

"What ?" Lu chen asked confused at the demon kings devilish grin.

"Shiyu huh?" asked Ji zue. "When did you become so close to her?" Ji zue asked giving Lu chen a suspicious glance. Lu chen laughed lightly "Its nothing like what you think it is.."he said quietly.

"Looks like someone has found a crush.."Ji sue said, that devilish smile back on his face. Lu went silent and stared in the direction that shiyu went.

"Its just...she reminds me of someone" he said his voice neutral.

"Who?" Ji zue asked puzzled at the flatness in his voice.

"A person who would give his life for a friend without a blink" Lu chen said in a flat and quiet voice. It neither contained warmth nor coldness. Ji zue went silent at that.

"Do you blame me?" he asked..his voice a whisper. Lu chen expression changed immediately. He looked up at Ji zue shaking his head.

"You know I don't. I never blamed you and I never will Ah zue." he said firmly not a hint of hesitation in his voice. Ji zue nodded and said after sometime.

"There are some thing's in life we can never forget Ah chen. But, I'm not asking you to forget anything. Infact I want you to remember but...remember good things. I'm sure he will want you to remember his smile when he left rather than his tears in pain" He said staring ahead. Lu chen didn't know what to reply to that. how the hell can I remember the things I want and forget the things I don't want he thought. But he didn't want to argue not when the other person wishes him to be happy and definitely not when that other person is Ji zue for whom he would give his life in a blink Just like how Ji zue would do it for him. So he just took a deep breath.

"Come let's go eat something I'm hungry" his tone said returning to that carefree cheerful voice.
