Can they trust each other?

Rose wished the department store to be somewhere near. Her stomach started grumbling the moment they stepped out of the house and the smells coming from the nearby houses as they walked to their car only increased her hunger. She smiled awkwardly when shiyu heard her little tummy's grumble.

"We'll be there in 5 minutes" shiyu said as she supressed her smile. Sam looked at her through the mirror. Rose and shiyu sat in the back while he sat in the front. Cassian is still a little grumpy since he's been asked to drive. Sam didn't like the thought of working with others. But even zayne was alright working with them maybe there's no need to be worried. He remembered dancing with cristina in the club and Ofcourse he remembered how drunk shiyu was that night. she seemed easygoing, always smiling, always trying to keep song lin's anger in check but no matter what he still couldn't completely trust them. After all it is their first time working with them. Working with others....the thought didn't sot well with him. they soon reached the store. Cassian smiled when he saw sam being deep in thought. He knew Sam wished nothing more than fading in to shadows and avoiding conversations. At first when the alpha team was created he was surprised when he found out sam didn't like talking to others. Because sam never showed any discomfort in his face. No matter how the others behave he would just smile and move on.

"What are you smiling for?" sam asked when he saw cassian smiling.

"Me?" his smile grew "I was wondering how would you manage to live with 2 other strangers for 3 months" any others would have glared at him or would've told him to shut up. But sam is too good a human being to do that. He just shook his head and continued to stare out of the window contend with his own thoughts.

Shiyu wondered if rose would've bought the whole shop if she had the money. Both Sam's and her hands are full with takeouts.One thing she liked about rose is that she mingled with others veru easily.Shiyu hardly suppressed her smile when cassian answered rose with a look when she told him to carry the bags. Then a doubt bloomed in her head. All these people worked with each other for so many years. She could tell by looking at their behavior just how close and dear they are to each other. How will they both fit in this group. Talent is not the only thing that can make this mission a success. They needed to trust each other. But even she couldn't trust them completely and how can she expect them to trust her and song lin? She sighed inwardly.

"Are you angry that she made you carry those bags?" cassians voice brought her back to the present. She shook her head.

"Then why do you look like you just had one of Rose's milkshakes?" he asked.

"I can hear you cass" rose grumbled from somewhere behind them. A little smile tugged at cassians lips.

"Oh I'm sorry rose, I'll make sure you don't hear anything the next time I speak ill about you" he said as he stretched his hands. It was shiyu's turn to laugh.

"Does her milkshake taste that awful?" she whispered.

"I wouldn't recommend it to you" cassian said blinking his amused eyes.Shiyu just smiled.

"What are you smiling for?" rose cried as they came out of the department store. She turned to cassian "What the hell did you tell her cass?" cassian clutched his chest, pretending to be hurt.

"You seriously think I would talk bad about you rose?"

"Yes I do" rose said almost immediately. Shiyu heard a low chuckle and she turned to her left surprised to find sam standing beside her. His smile vanished when shiyu's gaze landed on him. He looked awkward like chuckling is something to be awkward about.

"Do you guys fight often?" she asked him as cassian and rose went to the back of the car to place the things they bought inside.

"If you are asking about the fights that usually involve a lot of glowers and snarls, then it happens like 7 times a day" shiyu laughed.

"I'm guessing the participants are mostly celeana, cassian and zayne?" she said. He blew out an exhausted sigh as he said

"And I think we could add one more number to the participants now" shiyu laughed even more at that.

"Good luck handling song lin" she said, she noticed him fiddling with his shirt with his left hand. He does that everytime he talks with either song lin or her. She was about to ask but he already opened the car door and climbed inside.

By the time they came back song lin had already cooked 3 dishes with whatever she could find in the house and shiyu's surprised to see the house intact but she could tell from zayne's irked gaze that they fought. Lu chen was still asleep on the couch. Shiyu was about to wake him up whem rose threw a packet choclates directly on lu chen's face. The packet is cold since she just took it out of the fridge. Lu chen jerked awake and glared at rose. She batted her innocent eyes as she said

"Thought you might need some food"
