The Orphan - In Search of Love

Goa is a dream place, a land of fantasy in India. This lively city has always been an aspiration for the youngsters who love to enjoy holidays. It is the place where freedom can be celebrated to the maximum. Casinos and pubs are the favourite hang-out spots, after the beaches of course. Goa is one of the most popular tourist attractions in India where people from various countries spend their vacation. In fact, travellers from foreign countries make sure to visit Goa, whenever they plan a trip to India.

Arjun, a young, fun-loving and easy-going guy used to celebrate his holidays having blast at Goa. This year again he started off for his birthday bash with his friends, and reached Goa at the beginning of the month of September, although the D day was on the 10th. The Birthday celebration was not the sole reason that made him go to Goa. He was actually in search of love, and therefore he visited this cool and promising place every year on his birthday. He never thought of settling down permanently in Goa as he had a business hub at Hyderabad, still Goa seemed like a home town to him. He was accustomed to most of the streets in the city and was quite familiar with the people there.

Arjun's favourite hang-out spots in Goa were the bustling pubs. A casino did not fascinate him much as he was more interested in the music and dance at the pubs, rather than the gambling games at casinos. He had put in his best possible efforts for buying a popular pub, the Tranz in Goa, but he was not successful with that. Still, he did not give up on it and finally succeeded in buying another pub, the Dukes near Anjuna beach, which has now become one of the famous pubs in Goa.

At the Tranz, his usual fun junction Arjun got attracted to a young charming girl who appeared to be a new face, a first-timer at the pub. 'Who's that girl glancing at me again and again?' he thought, 'it seems as if I have seen her somewhere. So charming and so very good looking she is! What a beautiful, lovely face and such attractive eyes!' Arjun was getting captivated by her charm and thinking about her all the while. He longed to ask her for a dance but kept restraint as he was in a half-drunk state, so it wouldn't be chivalrous.

The pretty girl Saniya on the other side was also getting lot many thoughts about Arjun, 'If I am not wrong then that tall guy has been staring at me all the while, he is so handsome and much more dashing than the other guys in the pub. I guess I have seen him somewhere... I have certainly met him earlier but can't recollect clearly as I'm drunk!' Saniya was tempted to go and talk to Arjun directly, but then she decided to stick to her girly attitude and wait for the guy to come over to her.

Arjun had been gulping down few more pegs of drinks and was still thinking about her only, 'God! This girl has been looking at me repeatedly. I think we have met each other earlier, let me check with her.' He couldn't resist the temptation any longer and decided to go and break the ice with Saniya.

Saniya was in Goa for a job interview in an IT company. She got drawn to this dazzling pub night, out of curiosity and then her focus got stuck upon the handsome hunk Arjun, and the attraction was mutual. Her heartbeats set thumping on seeing that Arjun was now walking towards her; he was there now finally and he was smiling at her!

"Hi, I'm Arjun, how are you doing?" he greeted the lady politely.

"Hey hi, I'm Saniya and I'm doing great. Thank you, how about you?" Saniya reciprocated in the same friendly tone.

"I'm great as usual, enjoying the night. It seems I have met you before, I donno why but you really appear to be someone I know closely," he was looking in her eyes.

Saniya nodded, blushing a little bit. "Actually I got the same feeling when I first looked at you, and so kept looking again and again trying to recall. I don't remember where we could have possibly met."

Arjun giggled softly. "Well I guess you are alone here, can I offer you a drink?" he asked courteously.

"Yeah sure" replied Saniya. They enjoyed their drink together and gradually became friendly with each other.
