Battle Royal

(Wait! Before you begin reading, I have retconned the OOF/Originator of Life it just feels too tacky and a pointless addition to the novel. I have also updated the previous chapter's 'Info of the day' and changed where aura originated. However I may use an Idea Similar to the OOF so if you like it don't worry it is not completely gone.)

In one of the forests of Tianjiao Academy, two figures were fighting, the battle looked quite comical as one of the figures was huge and the other miniscule in comparison. The larger figure was a spirit beast and it was covered in terrifying injuries, its black scales were cracked and damaged, they were almost falling apart.

The beast's eyes looked around erratically, searching for an escape, it felt the threat of death, its body was screaming, screaming at it to run! Every second the beast delayed was a second closer to its demise.

BANG!

The smaller figure attacked, the figure's fist dug into the side of the beast's head leaving a metre length dent. There were no aura fluctuations when they attacked it was just pure physical strength. The figure was Samael, his face was expressionless as he continued to pound the beast into the ground.

It's been a 6 days since Awa, him and Egor were poisoned, when they returned to the guild, everyone was outraged they were ready to go to war only to be quelled by Xiao Ying. As Alice was also infuriated she was the main one who wanted to kill Han Moxie. Awa is pretty much back to normal except she obviously hates Brahma Valley, Egor has been very melancholic but is also twice as hard-working, he had taken this incident to heart and is even more determined to become a better alchemist.

Samael on the other hand, had become a cultivation demon, everyday all he's been doing is practicing, he's cultivated collapsing star to a terrifying level making his body almost on par with a Floor 1 Transcendence cultivator.

To complete this feat he has cultivated under 500 times the gravity of Verus using the gravity element, this increased the speed his cells were tempered and the speed they became denser at a frantic rate, at the beginning his body was left bruised and battered.

Awa had to help him heal everyday (Sami also has the healing and life element but Awa's affinity is much higher, he still used it on himself though. Also there is no point using healing medicine when you have a healer on hand, they leave less sequelae when they heal you).

Every time she saw his condition she felt immensely saddened and begged Samael to stop. However Alice knew her friend's personality and she knew he wouldn't stop so she told Awa not to worry, even though whenever she looked at his broken body she too felt heartbreak.

All of this just strengthened Alice's resolve to exterminate Brahma's Valley, during the Re-ranking she would try her best to destroy them.

Samael's other techniques like Chef's dance have become more precise and more ruthless, every swing of his sword is aimed to kill. He has also consolidated the realm of the stars in his dantian as soon as he breaks through to transcendence they will become Red Giants, increasing the aura he produces on his own.

Samael's also learned a technique called 'Thirteen Miseries', a curse element fist technique and as the name suggest there are 13 stances. This technique is a chain technique meaning you have to hit your opponent with consecutive attacks, if your opponent dodges, blocks or counterattacks you have to start the chain again.

For 'Thirteen Miseries' every time you land an attack the pain your opponent feels can be increased by up to half so if you were to land every attack the enemy would have a horrifying pain sensitivity. The technique also sends aura into the body as needles and penetrates the body causing immense damage.

(The reason I said 'up to half', is because Sami has reached mastery not perfection meaning the pain sensitivity of the opponent only increases by a quarter. 'Thirteen Miseries' is a Monarch level technique, the only reason Sami reached mastery in 6 days is because of his insane talent. Also Monarch level is not that high compared to some of the other techniques he's learnt.)

Back to the present.

The beast Samael was fighting was a snake, it hissed in pain every fist that landed on it's body increased the pain it felt and Sami's terrifying aura was running rampant in the snake's body, tearing through its flesh. The ash colour of the curse element penetrated through its broken scales, if anyone else saw this scene they would feel pity for the beast as it was tortured to death by an indifferent Samael.

Thud! The giant body of the snake finally collapsed, it was dead. Now that it was dead, you would easily be able to see it's true realm, 2nd Floor Transcendence! Sami had almost fought the beast with just his physical strength only using the curse element to finish the snake off.

Samael looked towards the beast corpse used fire aura to destroy the body and also eradicate all the dirt and blood on his body. Then he just walked back to his residence. Sami didn't even save the snake carcass for cooking, that's how you know he was furious.

"Tomorrow, it finally begins." he whispered to himself.

The school had an extremely excited atmosphere today, as it was the beginning of the re-ranking tournament. The freshman had no idea what to expect, as this was their first one ever and seniors had their own tournament to deal with. The seniors re-ranking tournament was held in a different arena compared to the Freshmen.

The main square was packed to the brim, around 1500 people were there. Suddenly Albert the ordinary man they met during the first trials appeared in the sky, with the some of staff behind him as well. One of the staff members was Idalia, her navy blue hair was very recognisable.

"Hello, everybody!" he clapped, "Welcome to your first re-ranking."

"The way the tournament is set up, is in stages. First is a 'battle royal', this is quite self explanatory for Combat classes so they will go first, I will explain what battle royal means for other classes later on."

As he finished speaking, he raised his arms and a terrifying energy spread from him as he ripped through space and dragged all 1500 of them through the tear.

The students appeared on the floor of a colosseum style arena.

"Alright, everyone in the Mortal and Earth Combat classes stay in the arena, everyone else take a seat we are soon beginning." Albert said.

225 people stayed in the centre of the arena (I increased the freshman combat students from 150 to 250, the heaven class is still 25 people though.)

"The battle royal works like this, if you are knocked unconscious or unable to fight you will be eliminated and the last person standing receives 5 points. If you are same class as a person you eliminate you gain 2 points, if you are in a class above (Earth vs Mortal) you gain 1 point and if you are in class below (Mortal defeating Earth.) you gain 3 points."

"Also the Top 25, get to challenge the Heaven class, in theory you could replace the whole class even though that has never happened." Albert chuckled and Teleported to a VIP box in the colosseum.

"3,2,1 Begin!"

Aura was instantly being released by the students, various techniques were thrown around.

BOOM! The first person hit was a mortal class male, a huge fireball struck his body sending him flying, he quickly regained his composure and flew towards his attacker in retaliation. This first 'fight' set off everyone.

Samael was looking into the centre and focused on one girl, she was another rising star of The Void's Owl she was the ranked 26th just below Rosa. Her name was Moriko Takagi, she had long beautiful white hair and looked to be of Japanese descent. Her skin was a healthy wheat colour and it looked bewitching.

She was around 1.70 metres tall and had a very slender body. She was wearing black omoyoji robes and had blue cat eyes.

She jumped in the air and when she landed on the floor she turned into a majestic two tailed white cat.

She became a blur in this form, she was like a ghost quietly moving around the arena.

When she found a place she was satisfied with she transformed back into a human and in her hands was a white shamisen (Japanese guitar like instrument).

When her slender fingers plucked the strings black music notes made of aura were formed and floated around her.

The music notes slowly transformed into humanoid figures and began circling around Moriko, they were like knights protecting their queen.

"Go" she said.

The figures instantly leaped into battle the death aura they were made from caused insane amounts of damage.

Shatter! Shatter! Shatter!

A man appeared next to the remains of the holograms, on his chest there was a symbol depicting a 3 headed human standing on top of a lotus flower.

It was Brahma Valley!

Formations and runes - Learn how to use formations and runes, as I said before runes and formations are similar so it wouldn't be hard to learn them together. Heaven class, uses formations mostly and runes on the side. In Earth class there is a balance. In Mortal class they mostly use Runes and some easier formations.

Scholars- They are the scientist of Verus and dabble in almost everything. They are some of the most esteemed people in the world and all they want to do is gain more knowledge.

Technology - They are innovators, they are always advancing and helping the races of this world improve.
