Chapter 4: Cloaks
Kairi is walking at the hallway filled with students hoping that she would find Val.
"It looks like she's not here" Kairi guessed. She then started to head to Val's Classroom. But in the shadows, there lurks an eye.
"It doesn't seem she knows about me, then what is she aiming?" a man said to himself.
"I should just continue what I came here for". The man then started to walk towards the Library.

Kairi arrived at Val's class but no matter how much Kairi tried to find Val, she couldn't. She asked one of the passing students about Val.
"I think she left with a group of students, they said they have private matters to discuss at the Academy's rooftop" the student said.
"Thanks" Kairi said. She then hurried to find Val.
After some time, Kairi arrived at the rooftop and saw Val collapsed at the floor with a group of cloaked people around her.
"Val!" Kairi shouted.
"How did they get in here?, are they students of the Academy?." Nevermind that, Val comes first". Kairi told herself, she then prepared chanting the first phases of her spells, just in case a fight broke out. She estimated her chances of winning, since there is 7 possible enemies and that she is not sure of their abilities, her chances of winning and escaping with Val is slim even though she is the top student of the Academy.
"Yo, look who's here, if it isn't the princess of the Magic Academy" one of the cloaked person said.
"What are you here for, your Majesty?" the cloaked man asked.
"What are you doing here?, what did you to her!" Kairi shouted at the cloaked people.
"There was someone who our master likes, he ordered us to fetch her so that she can be used, but she resisted so we have no choice but to force her a bit". One of the cloaked man answered.
"What are you going to do with her?".
One of the cloaked men signaled something then two of the cloaked men left. Kairi figured that the man was planning something, she has to al least make Val escape, but with her current condition, that is impossible. Since two of them left, Kairi's chances of winning is higher, but they can also use Val as hostage. She has to act fast before the ones who left come back.
"Yo, Princess while you're already here, why don't you come back with us? I'm sure you will like where we are going to", our Master should also like it if you can come". The man said.
"Should I go?" Kairi asked herself.
"No, I am not sure who they are, this might be a trap to let my guard down". While Kairi was thinking on what choice should she do.
"Oi, hey!", "What should we do with the girl?"
"Well we are only told to bring her back, nothing more, you can do whatever you want".
"Sweeeet!" the man said with a huge smile on his face. He then started to walk towards Val's body.
"Bastard!, don't you dare touch her!" Kairi shouted angrily.
"And what are you going to do, Princess?", "Surely, you won't attack us with our number advantage right?" one of the cloaked man said while laughing.
"If I can at least disable 3 of them in a single attack, I might stand a chance". Kairi then started chanting the final phases of her spells.
"Yo, Princess, are you listening?" someone asked.
"Wait is she saying something?"
"Crap she's chanting, find cover!" one shouted. They stumbled upon each other trying to find cover.
"Heed my call and burn my enemies, Hell's Chariot!"
Kairi finished chanting, raging flames came out of her hand and the flames ravaged almost the entire rooftop. The cloaked men are no longer there after the attack, 3 burnt bodies are in the back, Kairi guessed that the ones in the front got everything burned. Val is unharmed because Kairi placed a Holy Shield on her before she chanted Hell's Chariot. Kairi then went to check Val. When she was about to chant magic, she noticed that she can no longer move. She knew this magic. It is the holy magic, Holy Binding. The caster creates a magic circle that can bind it's targets, but it can only affect those who are weaker than the caster. But there is also a another way of improving this magic, multiple casters can maintain the same magic circle, thus strengthening the magic, makes it more easier to bind stronger or more people. Even though Kairi can no longer move nor speak, she can still sense the presence of someone.
"It looks like our little princess has actually managed to win against so many at once, you really deserve the number 1 place in this Magic Academy".
"Too bad, our master has taken a liking to you, if not, I should have made you mine" the man said with a sad tone. Kairi have also thought of who the "Master" they always have been talking about, they said that their "Master" likes her. The only person who likes her that has the power to hire someone this strong is Jake. Jake is one of the sons of the Azrec family, one of the strongest Nobles in the Human Empire. He had always wanted to go out with her. Kairi never thought that Jake would do this.
"Our aim was to take someone named Valerie, but since your also here, taking you with us should also be fine. We can also increase our pay". The man walked towards Kairi and grabbed her face.
"You're pretty, are you not?. I can see why our Master has taken a liking to you, I wonder why you didn't ans-". The man was interrupted by another.
"Enough talk, we should carry our mission as fast as possible". A man with a strong, oppressing aura said.
"Fine, well then, let's talk another time, Princess". The man then started to lift and bring Kairi away, but somebody was stopping his left foot, it was Val.
"Oi, let go will you?" the man said angrily.
"The Goddess of Creation, the God of Judgment" Val said weakly.
"Why are you chanting, you wrench!" the man, using his other foot, crushed Val's body.
"Heed our prayers" Val continued chanting, she is not affected by Holy Binding as Val was still protected by Kairi's Holy Shield.
"Bitch, stop!" the cloaked men then started to chant their spells and some used their physical strength to try and stop whatever Val is chanting.
"Bless us, your frail servants" Val continues even though she is getting beat up.
"V-Val, S-Stop" Kairi said as she can't stand Val being beat up to death. Val heard her but she still chose to continue chanting.
"And punish those who are wrong!". A huge magic circle appeared on the rooftop.
"Sacred Sanctum!" Val shouted with the last of her strength. Sacred Sanctum is a judgment type spell, it judges all living beings on it's range, including it's owner. Those who are evil or sinners, shall receive it's magic as punishment, and those who are the opposite remains safe. As the magic circle slowly accumulates mana to activate, fear came to the cloaked people. They know this magic, and they also know that they are sinners themselves. A voice broke out the fear in the cloaked men's fear.
"Fear not, we have prepared for this". The man then took a tattered paper in his back, it was a magic scroll but not an ordinary one, this magic scroll was designed to absorb a magic circle, even the Sacred Sanctum. The tides were completely turned, Val's magic vanished and Kairi can no longer fight, they were doomed. Tears flowed at Kairi's eyes, since Val had tried to kill them, it's natural that they do something to Val. Kairi wants to help but she can't as she was binded by magic.
"Curse you, you wrench. You dared to attack us?"
"As your punishment, you shall become our slave back at home" a man said.
Kairi blamed herself for being weak, she always thought that she was strong, but now she can clearly see how powerless she was.
"If someone or something can at least save Val". "Please Come!" Kairi said weakly.
