The charioteer (1/2), CH 38

(A week later.)

The angels had decided to leave the school and return to Sheila's mansion for the rest of the day. They had stayed in the school sleeping quarters for over a week now.

They left the school with the help of a student council member and were now walking through the streets of the west scholar district.

The people in this district were mostly wealthy nobles and experienced merchants.The angels were genuinely enjoying the air in the district, it was Peaceful and full of liveliness. There were a few odd commoners walking around but no moves were made to kick them out of the district.

The angels really had no time to waste on drama.

They were walking by an armor shop when the air suddenly grew heavy.

The angels stopped in their tracks. They were wearing their academy uniform as they had just left the academy.

Kyle looked back but what he saw was an empty street with a dark shadow growing larger from a distance.

The street was completely empty, the shops had been cleared of all their items. Kyle tried to remove Dyrnwyn from his dimensional rift but felt a burning sensation on the back of his hands, he couldn't open the rift.

"I can't use my magic..."

"I sense several unholy auras around us."

"Witches..."

Kyle and Hannah grit their teeth in frustration. Alicia's bow and Kyle's sword were in the dimensional rift. Now with their magic rendered useless they could only rely on the skills their parents taught them, and Hannah's summoning ability.

{Hello}

The voice was nonchalant, and a but heavy. It seemed to come from above.

Alicia was the first to see what the voice was coming from. The being was humanoid with a very pale skin. It was wearing a clock concealing its body from the neck down but the angels recognized it immediately.

"FALLEN ANGELS!!! RUN!"

Fallen angels were never to be messed with or interacted with at any cost, not unless you were a high ranking angel. Normal angels like them had no business confronting fallen angels.

The angels tried running as a group but a purple barrier rose from the cobble and stretched to the sky.

Hannah bit her lip as she recognized yet another thing.

[Restriction prism]

{Please calm down, we simply wish to talk.}

"Just what do you want from us..."

Alicia was trying her best to stay calm but her hands kept fidgeting nervously. After all the fallen angels had always been enemies of the angels.

Slowly the fallen angel descended to the street and out of the shadows came other fallen angels of different skin colours and sizes. They all looked attractive if you excluded the large horn tipped wings on their backsides.

Hannah closed her eyes to try and concentrate. She had managed to successfully activate her ability, it seemed these fallen angels had no authority over that at least.

Kyle stood in front of Hannah so the fallen angles couldn't clearly see her but their auras were suffocating enough that it felt they were all around them.

{I apologise if our presence is bringing you discomfort but we really wished to talk when we heard you were here.}

"Someone told you we were here?..."

{yes but he's dead now.}

Yes because that explained everything.

Kyle calmed down and looked at all the fallen angels surrounding the one speaking. Hannah had made a mistake, they weren't twelve... there were dozens of them. All of them guarding the one speaking like a private army.

"Excuse me, but are you a fallen noble?..."

{Yes I am though my name holds no relevance in a world as chaotic as this.}

Kyle frowned.

"What's that supposed to imply..."

{It is what it is. Anyways the true reason I came here was just to have a talk with the future trilogy.}

"What...what are you talking about-"

{You must leave this world, as soon as you can the better. I wish to explain in detail but I have been given orders not to.}

Kyle glanced back for a moment, Hannah still wasn't done summoning whatever she was trying to. So Kyle continued to play along with the fallen angels.

"Why must we leave this world..."

{Because your presence here is attracting the 'ancients' If you stay here our world will come to an end faster than it was intended. There are twelve 'ancients' and one has already appeared thanks to you arseholes!!}

The fallen noble was no longer calm, his voice had been escalating quickly as he talked and his anger clearly showing in his dark crimson eyes. Kyle wasn't quite sure of what to think.

"W-what do you mean because of us? we haven't provoked anything capable of destroying a world so what are you blaming us for?"

{Tell me... when you came to our world what was the first place you went to. Could it have been a dark forest by chance...}

"how did you-"

{Also did you use your abilities for the first time in that forest...}

This fallen noble was oddly specific.

"Yes we did..."

{Then I have every bloody right to be blaming you!!! Thanks to you we can now be assured that an 'ancient' has awakened in the Dark forest.}

"I still don't understand what these 'ancients' are supposed to be and how we-"

"I'm DONE!!!"

Kyle looked back to see a blue light envelope Hannah. Blue flashes spreading across her eyes and glazing over the dull golden shine.

"Who did you summon?"

"Someone I fear I can't control..."

*************

(In the second heaven, within Jesus' holy palace)

He stared at the holographic screen with a deep frown. The air around him fizzed with the tension and Jesus' eyes were losing their usual joyfulness.

He had made a mistake, a mistake great enough to put the heavens in danger.

He got up from his couch in his own room and walked towards the jasper desk in the corner. He pulled out a single paper from a pile in a tray. He pulled out a fountain pen from the air and wrote something with great agitation.

[To: Battle angels

From: Jesus

Mission: Eliminate this 'ancient', I'm aware you lot are watching the three closely so I expect you to complete this mission quickly and silently.]

He placed the quill down with a sigh. He wasn't allowed to get involved but through the battle angels he could at least try.

But when he was about to place the paper in the tray for sending out letters, he halted.

A presence had silently entered his room and he didn't even have to turn around to know who it was.

"Hello Rueben..."

"His majesty Elohim wishes to see you, immediately."
