Blinking his eyes open, he squinted because of the sunlight entering his eyes. As he raised his hand to close his aching eyes, he realized that his body was quite numb. He groaned when he realized he couldn't lift his hand.
When he tried to turn his head, he realized that he was stiff all over and his body was heavy. He lifted his head and dropped it weakly back on the pillow.
"Ah, how long have I been unconscious," Cale mumbled, realizing that his voice was raspy and hoarse.
He struggled to move his weakened muscles and after a long time, he was able to sit up. As he swung his feet off the bed and sat up, he looked around the room.
Dimly lit by the sunlight, he saw that it had not been cleaned for a long time because of the dust flying in the air.
"How long has it been since they cleaned this place?" he grimaced and shook the dust and dirt off himself.
