Once Doom Patrol, Always Doom Patrol

Five months have passed since our heroes saved the entire universe by defeating the universe conquering the demon Trigon. After the divine victory, nothing has happened. Villains have appeared, but they have been easily dealt with, especially with Raven's power boost. Now that there is nothing to do, Beast Boy has picked up the responsibility to entertain the team. You may ask what will he do? Let's find out from the mouth of the shapeshifter himself.

"Beast Boy's Prop Comedy Revue. I know that you are annoyed when you can't play your tuba in the tub," said Beast Boy.

"Booo," said Cyborg.

"Hey! I'm not finished. You can boo once I'm finished," said Beast Boy.

"I would rather boo now," said Cyborg.

"Save it until I'm over," said Beast Boy.

"Booo," said Cyborg.

"You know what? I'll just ignore you. What could be more annoying than not being able to play your tuba in the tub?" said Beast Boy.

"You," said Raven.

"Oh come on. Can I finish before you guys start clowning me?" said Beast Boy.

"No," said Raven.

"Shhh! Please continue," said Starfire.

"Thank you, my adoring fans! You will no longer have to worry about not being able to play your tuba in the tub with the tubercle," said Beast Boy as he plays the weird instrument.

"Really? That was the joke," said Jordan.

"It was a good joke," said Beast Boy.

"It was terrible like all of your jokes," said Raven.

"You guys just don't understand the art that is comedy," said Beast Boy.

"No, you just suck," said Jordan.

"Oh really? I bet you couldn't even do a half better job than me," said Beast Boy.

"Are you challenging me, elf boy? That isn't a good idea," said Jordan.

"Bring it!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"Friends, we shouldn't feud over the comedic act," said Starfire.

"Yes, we shall. I challenge you to a comedic duel!" said Beast Boy.

"Let's do this," said Jordan.

Before they can do anything, a spherical object busts through the large door to the living room. The Titans jump in fear and prepare to attack, but the object doesn't attack them.

"So, what is this thing and why isn't it attacking?" asked Cyborg.

"It's not an enemy. It's a messenger drone sent for me," said Beast Boy.

"From who?" asked Jordan.

"The Doom Patrol," said Beast Boy.

"The old irrelevant superhero team that kicked you off? Why would they be messaging you?" asked Jordan.

"They may be in trouble and we have to save them if they are," said Beast Boy.

"Anything's better than your jokes," said Raven.

"Alright. Alright. Chill. Let's see what they need," said Beast Boy.

Beast Boy walks over to the drone and it scans him. After scanning him for a few seconds, the leader of the Doom Patrol appears on the screen and starts to talk to the green boy.

"If this messenger drone has found you, then you know what has happened," said the leader.

"You guys are in trouble," said Beast Boy.

"Correct. Our last location was in the Amazon rainforest. Start your search there. You know what to do. We're counting on you, Garfield," said the leader.

"I know," said Beast Boy.

The drone drops to the ground after delivering the message and Beast Boy turns to his friends. They now have to save fellow heroes from an unknown force.

"So, they have been captured somewhere near the Amazon rainforest. Who could have done it?" said Jordan.

"I don't know, but we have to save them," said Beast Boy.

"Then., let's go. We have heroes to save," said Jordan.

Five hours pass. The Titans arrive at the rainforest and land in a large space, cleared of trees due to logging. They hop out of their ship and walk deeper into the forest. They continue to walk until they see a ship, crashed into the ground. Beast Boy instantly recognizes the ship and is shocked.

"Beast Boy, this is their ship?" asked Jordan.

"Yes. It's their ship," said Beast Boy.

"My scanners aren't picking up anybody in that ship. They must not be here," said Cyborg.

"Then, we have to start searching," said Jordan.

"They could be anywhere," said Raven.

"Then, we search anywhere," said Beast Boy.

Beast Boy runs deeper into the forest and his friends soon follow. They reach some branches, but Beast Boy easily breaks them and continues to move deeper into the rainforest. Curious, Starfire speaks up.

"Why do you never talk about this Doom Patrol? Did something happen?" asked Starfire.

"I used to be a member of the Doom Patrol, but that was a long time ago. I'm a Titan now, so there is no reason to talk about them. Now, stop talking and hurry up. We have to find them," said Beast Boy.

Beast Boy continues to move deeper while his friends just watch him as they have never seen him before.

"So, what's up with him?" asked Cyborg.

"He never acts like this," said Raven.

"The Doom Patrol are like his family. They raised him, so he must be very worried about their whereabouts. I understand why he's acting like this," said Jordan.

"No!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"That was Gar. He must have found something," said Jordan.

The other Titans walk into the green of the forest and find what Beast Boy has found. A big bronze robot is hung by the tree's vines with a sign reading 'trespassers beware' on it.

"Robot Man! Come on! It's me, Beast Boy! You have to wake up and help save the others!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"Yelling at him won't work. He's out of it and he needs to be repaired," said Jordan.

"Then, please repair him," said Beast Boy.

"Vic, do what you do best," said Jordan.

"Already on it," said Cyborg.

Cyborg walks up to the robot man and first slices the vines off of him. He then turns his fingers into welding torches and uses them to open up the robot's chest. He then uses his torches to fix the robot. As he works on the robot, he senses brain waves.

"I sense brain waves," said Cyborg.

"Brain waves?" asked Starfire.

"His brain is the only thing alive in him. The rest are gears and bolts. Cross your fingers. I don't know if it was enough, but hopefully, it was," said Cyborg.

Cyborg presses the button on the robot's chest and the robot reboots. He comes back to life, but he doesn't say thank you. He's coming for his friends.

"Mento! I'm coming!" exclaimed Robot Man.

"Robot man, wait!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

The robot doesn't wait and continues to run. He crashes through the trees, causing them to fall. He doesn't care about nature. He only cares about saving Mento. He reaches a clear path of land and is shot by turrets that rise from the ground. He takes the shots, destroys the turrets, and crashes into a building. He starts to quickly look everywhere for his allies.

"Mento! Negative Man! Elastigirl! I'm here!" exclaimed Robot Man.

"Cliff, what happened?" asked Beast Boy.

"Ambush. They couldn't have gotten far," said Robot Man.

"Robot Man, I had to reboot all of your systems. You were offline for a long time," said Cyborg.

"How long?" asked Robot Man.

"Five months," said Beast Boy.

"Five months! Impossible! I couldn't have been out that long!" exclaimed Robot Man.

"Cyborg's systems are never wrong. If it says that you were out for five months, then you were out for five months," said Jordan.

"Why was I built with an off switch!" exclaimed Robot Man.

"Chill dude. You don't have to be so hard on yourself. You took a good pounding," said Cyborg.

"We should have been able to deal with them. We always do," said Robot Man.

"Everything doesn't go to plan all the time," said Jordan.

"Is this your new team? They're just a bunch of kids," said Robot Man.

"Nice to see you too, Cliff," said Beast Boy.

"Sorry, squirt. I'm just worked up about this situation," said Robot Man.

"We can still save them and defeat the Brotherhood of Evil," said Beast Boy.

"I can't wait to destroy that Brain's brain," said Robot Man.

"We should focus more on saving your friends than defeating a giant brain," said Raven.

"Yeah. We should," said Robot Man.

The trees behind them start to move and Robot Man runs outside towards the moving trees. The Titans don't move because they don't know what's out there.

"We can't be rash. We don't know what's out there," said Jordan.

"Tell the hunk of bolts that. Are you sure he has a brain?" said Raven.

"Titans, go!" exclaimed Beast Boy.

"That's my line," said Jordan.

The Titans run out of the building and towards the giant menace. The giant menace is a large machine that is cutting down the trees with its giant claws and saws. Robot Man tries to leap on it, but he is grabbed by a claw and thrown in the other direction. The machine tries to smash him with a claw, but he grabs it. The machine then tries to cut him in half with a saw, but Beast Boy transforms into an elephant and crushes the saw.

"Good job, kid," said Robot Man.

"Wait until you see my-," said Beast Boy.

Beast Boy can't finish talking before he is launched in the other direction. Jordan grapples up to the machine and tries to destroy it with a few Explosive Claws, but he doesn't make a dent. Raven uses her magic to throw a few large rocks at it, but it also doesn't make a dent. Starfire and Cyborg send combined attacks to try and damage the machine, but they also don't make a dent.

"How do you stop this thing?" asked Cyborg.

"I got it!" exclaimed Robot Man.

Robot Man proceeds to charge towards the giant machine. He hops on the giant claw while tanking its fire. He then hops on its head, rips it off, and then hops inside, destroying its insides and finally putting the machine down. He bursts through the machine and lands before the Titans.

"What was that?" asked Jordan.

"I defeated the machine," said Robot Man.

"In the dumbest way possible. If you want to save your team, you have to work with us," said Jordan.

"Whatever he makes, I smash. That's what we do in the Doom Patrol," said Robot Man.

"If you couldn't tell, we aren't the Doom Patrol," said Beast Boy.

"Great," said Robot Man.

"This is how it has to be at least until we find Mento," said Beast Boy.

"This isn't kid's stuff, Garfield. Can you guys even handle it?" said Robot Man.

"We took care of Satan. We can handle a giant brain," said Beast Boy.

"So, how do we find where they are at?" asked Robot Man.

"I can use my Detective Vision to scan the tech. I can find out what's in there and then search the area for similar tech. That should be where the base is," said Jordan.

"How long will that take?" asked Robot Man.

"Just a few minutes. Be patient," said Jordan.

"I am patience," said Robot Man.

Jordan scans the tech with his Detective Vision and the location of their base pops up in his cowl. He turns to his team and points in the direction of the base.

"It's over there. A few miles away from us. Let's move," said Jordan.

Thirty minutes pass. The Titans and Robot Man approach the giant base. Jordan pulls out a pair of binoculars to analyze the base. He sees two guards and more of those logging machines.

"This should be easy. We could either avoid touching the ground or use one of those machines to create an entrance," said Jordan.

"I choose the smash option," said Robot Man.

"Of course, you would," said Raven.

"No, let's not smash. This time, let's play it safe," said Jordan.

"So, what's your plan?" asked Robot Man.

"Light's out. We take them down in the darkness," said Jordan.

"Just like Batman?" asked Robot Man.

"Just like Batman," said Jordan.

Inside the base, a gorilla pulls a large battery out of a container and walks over to his master. He kneels before him and hands the battery to him.

"Great job, Brain. You created a battery," said Mento.

"You make fun of things that you can't understand. The only thing better than this would be for you to admit defeat. Do it," said The Brain.

"Never," said Mento.

"Fine. Then, your friends will suffer. Let's start with the girl," said The Brain.

The Brain's eyes glow red as electricity appears around Elastigirl's cage. It becomes smaller as it starts to crush the female hero.

"Steve, it's crushing me," said Elastigirl.

"No," said Mento.

"Concede. Admit defeat and her suffering will end," said The Brain.

"You won't win. You can't," said Mento.

"I have! Admit it!" exclaimed The Brain.

Mento won't be able to admit defeat because the light disappears and the base enters a deep darkness. All around the two villains, their armed goons are taken out by silent attacks and attacks that cast a little light. After around a minute, the attacks stop, but the escape has just begun. The expandable cages are broken and the Doom Patrol escapes from their captivity.

"Monsieur Mallah, it seems that we have been stopped," said The Brain.

"We should make our escape, sir," said Monsieur Mallah.

"Should we though? They don't seem to be eager to steal our prize," said The Brain.

The Brain and Monsieur Mallah start to slowly walk towards a rocket with their prize in tow. Our heroes try to chase after them, but they are hit with a beam that prevents them from moving forward. All of our heroes are stuck except for Beast Boy. He starts to run towards the villains, but they both turn around.

"Nuh uh uh. Do you want to take us down or do you want to save your friends? This place is going to blow as you teenagers say. Choose wisely. Be the hero or be a friend, Garfield Logan," said The Brain.

"Don't worry about us, Beast Boy! Stop him!" exclaimed Mento.

"Get him, Garfield! We'll get out of this!" exclaimed Jordan.

"Shut up. Let me decide," said Beast Boy quietly.

"Beast Boy! Get them!" exclaimed Jordan and Mento.

"I said shut up! I'm a man! I can make my own decision!" exclaimed Beast Boy as the two villains escape in their rocket.

"You fool. They've already escaped. There was no bomb or explosive. They played you like a green fiddle," said Mento.

"They just escaped. It's not like they want to destroy the world," said Beast Boy.

"They do. They now have all the materials to build a quantum generator to destroy the world or at least make everyone bow to him. You failed five years ago and you repeated the same mistake. Good job, Garfield," said Mento.

"Sorry," said Beast Boy.

"There's no need to apologize. You're no longer part of Doom Patrol, so you can mess up as many times as you want. Once we get out of here, Doom Patrol, we're going to hunt down those two once again and we won't be held back by teenagers or their fuck up of a friend," said Mento.
