Chapter 3: Magic and Spirituality

In a dark, secret room, Qin Feng sat cross-legged opposite John. With his eyes closed, Qin Feng's body occasionally trembled from intense physical pain. Sweat formed on his forehead, yet his heart remained steady.

John believed Qin Feng had a unique physique, but only Qin Feng truly understood the reason he could suppress the magical riot.

Turbulent and perilous disordered magic surged within him, threatening to obliterate everything. Yet, it was mysteriously tempered by a superior force, delicately enhancing Qin Feng's physical resilience and his body's ability to handle magical power.

What seemed like a disastrous magical riot actually served to strengthen Qin Feng's foundation. This realization stemmed from Qin Feng's experience during his first magical riot.

"What is magic power?"

Of course, it was not the various magical powers found in the myriad worlds. Even if Qin Feng had that part of the knowledge, he would still not be able to comprehend it at the moment.

Similarly, it was not the exploration of the nature of magic that had eluded countless great wizards in this world. Qin Feng also had this awareness, so he was just thinking about the general direction.

Spirituality could not produce magic power, but it was the first trigger for magic.

Just like when a wizard casted a cleaning spell, his most fundamental thought was "cleaning", when an Auror casted "Avada Kedavra", his most fundamental thought was "killing".

After he understood this point, Qin Feng had roughly understood the logic of magic in this world.

Spirituality was the cause, magical strength was the force, and magic was the effect.

To put it more vividly, it was like when Qin Feng planned to go to school from home.

Spirituality allowed Qin Feng to have this thought, magic power would be the collection of all the elements required for Qin Feng to go to school. When Qin Feng arrived at school, it would signify that magic was formed.

But for people with strong spirituality, when they had the idea of going to school, even if they had never been there before, they would try to formulate a plan on what to do next, even if the person in question were not aware of this behavior.

People with weak spirituality, were not focused, easily distracted, once distracted would give up, which would cause the magic to fail.

People with strong spirituality had clear goals, well thought out plans, more focused, so they were naturally more likely to succeed in casting magic.

As for the function of magic, it would be to find the shorter path and use more efficient means of transportation.

As for the so-called casting gestures, spells, wands, and the established explanations on magic, they were teaching materials that informed everyone about a path that had been explored.

However, as long as you have enough courage to build a high-speed railway directly from your home to school, or even a teleportation array, who could say that it was wrong?

From the perspective of wizards who lacked understanding of soul and spirituality, it was something that was very difficult to be interfered with and could only naturally rise and fall under the influence of magic over a certain amount of time.

But for Qin Feng, this outlier, spiritual power was not difficult to use, because as a Beyonder, spirituality fell directly under his department.

As for the magical riot, to Qin Feng was not really a life-risking endeavor, but more like polishing and testing his own spirituality.

And as a "loyal servant" Qin Feng did not disappoint John. He quickly got familiar with the various chores and side jobs, which made John, more than once, lament the convenience of the Imperius Curse.

Therefore, as Qin Feng stated this suggestion, John, who had let his guard down, had no doubts, immediately approved with a wave of his hand and threw him a few books on basics of magic for him to study by himself, while John immediately turned back to continue with his own bloody experiment.

After gaining the books, Qin Feng immediately absorbed the various knowledge, such as magic spells, magic potions, alchemy, runes, and herbology, like a sponge. Although the knowledge was not deep, but his uncommon spirituality, it still allowed him to grow quickly.

The most obvious effect was that after each magical riot, Qin Feng's own magical power growth was visible to the naked eye along with the invisible improvement of his physical fitness.

Who could have imagined that within a body that seemed barely healthy, such a great power existed?

The accumulation of magical knowledge also allowed Qin Feng to have a bypass effect while pondering upon the essence brought about by the occult knowledge. Even the "secret" method shown in the panel also began to change under the accumulation of this world's knowledge.

Just like the Sequence 9 Formula that was originally obscured in his mind, had

 shown substitute materials that can be found in this world.
