Chapter 165: Fight Club (3)

~Third POV~

[Hounnoji Academy, Courtyard Arena]

There was a sudden silence in the air after Ryuko's outburst as she argued back against this rule in an annoyed tone, "That's bloody cheating Satsuki! I'm supposed to fight my friend to get to you!!!"

Satsuki remained neutral as she spoke in a neutral tone gripping the handle of her weapon and slamming it down glaring at Ryuko, "Ryuko Matoi remember the promise I made for you when you challenged my kingdom. The challenge was to defeat every student the school had to offer. Should you succeed, Junketsu and I shall face you once more."

Ryuko growled at this with Mash studying Satsuki as she continued with her demands closing her eyes as she spoke, "However, if the Club Captain of the Fight Club surrenders then I see no issue in this. But know by doing so you forfeit your previous life of luxury for your members, and you return to when you began when you first entered Honnouji Academy."

Clicking what Satsuki had in mind Mako's eyes widened in realization with Mash realizing what this meant as he spoke in a tired tone, "Sigh… what a pain. But there's no way I'm fighting my friend for a good life. But hey at least no more paperwork than that's a win in my eyes."

Ryuko smiled at his choice. But not all of them were content as Mako yelled out loud definitely not fine with his choice of action in a defiant tone, "No you can't! If you quit now, we'll be sent back to the slums!"

This made Ryuko freeze realizing the ramifications of his actions gazing at Mako in surprise but realized as she glared at Satsuki getting the right reaction from them, 'That manipulative bitch!! She's purposefully splitting us up to get us to fight each other with her words!!'

Mako pleaded with Mash to reconsider as he shook his head remaining firm by his choice in a neutral tone his eyes locking onto the begging Mako, "Sorry but no. The Fight Club is dissolving Mako. I'm not about to hurt a friend nor will I play by Eyebrow rules."

Mako slammed her foot on the ground tears her head down yelling out loud about the unfairness of his selfish choice in a desperate tone, "WELL I'M NOT! I'M NEVER GOING BACK THERE, NEVER!"

Suddenly a large wardrobe crashed right behind Mako. A bright light shined down on the courtyard, showing Satsuki stepping forward from her tower commanding Mako, "As you both and Ryuko have left Fight Club this means the leadership possession is now within Mako's right! Fight Club President Mako Mankanshoku! Your Two-Star Goku Uniform is inside that wardrobe!"

Mako gazed at the wardrobe in a daze finding her chance to maintain her lifestyle, "My uniform?"

Satsuki nodded as she gave a command to Mako in a stern tone Mako slowly stood up her eyes locking on the wardrobe, "If you want to keep your social standing and lifestyle, fight and defeat both Ryuko Matoi and Mash Bastion! If you do, you shall be granted a Three-Star Uniform!"

Ryuko argued at Satsuki's decision in an angry tone seeing what just occurred outraged, "What the fuck? That's plain' dirty, Kiryuin!"

Mako stared at the wardrobe as Mash asked in an outraged tone but for a different reason in complete disbelief, "Hey! I put in the request form for my Two-Star Uniform over two weeks ago! The response period, for whether we get one ended days ago!"

However, Gamagori replied in a defiant tone, "It was back-logged!"

Mash's face twitched then argued back even more pointing out the flaw in an annoyed tone, "What the – who the hell could have been in front of us?! We decimated just about all the clubs in the school?!!"

Gamagori remained defiant yelling even louder, "BACK-LOGGED!!"

Mash could only curse under his breath at the constant denial in an annoyed tone, "Fucking bureaucracy paperwork…"

Before anyone realized, Mako had put on her Two-Star Uniform and was prepared to fight as Satsuki spoke to both in a neutral tone, "Don't be so hasty. I am not the one you face today."

Ryuko immediately transformed as Satsuki made no explicit efforts to even acknowledge them. Ryuko growled as she angrily pointed her Scissor Blade at Satsuki, "Turning Mako against me, are you?! Is there any low you won't sink into?!"

*BOOOM*

No sooner the wardrobe explodes, and Mako emerges in her Two-Star regalia the Goku Uniform is designed after a Bancho and consists of a black overcoat hung over her shoulders. It had two red four-pointed stars to symbolize its rank on her belt.

The coat was studded with gold metals around the collar and had red spikes from the shoulders. She also wore a black cap with a golden crescent moon on it. She has red spiked cuffs on her wrists and golden brass knuckles engraved with the word "MAKO".

Inside the coat are several golden weapons such as a morning star and a wrench. She also had a green reed in her mouth. Also, a traditional Japanese footwear pair of Geta replaced her socks and loafers as Mako spoke raising her fist in a serious tone, "Fight Club-spec Two-Star Uniform! Club President Mako Mankanshoku!"

[FIGHT CLUB-SPEC TWO-STAR UNIFORM]

With the transformation finished she tilted her hat saying the cultured words to her fellow friends in an annoyed tone, "Yare, yare daze you guys… if you won't listen, then I'll make you listen!"

*SWOOOSH*

She surged forward at extremely high speeds as Mash raised an eyebrow as he tilted his head avoiding a punch to the face and commenting on the attire, "Okay but why the Jojo reference though?"

*Swooosh*

Moving back making some distance Mako rushed forward swiftly changing targets in a serious tone, "Ryuko! Mash! Say your prayers!"

Mako charged after them. Mash steeled himself and got into a stance, but Ryuko got ahead of him and clashed with her in the middle of the courtyard. Ryuko was the first to clash with her, using the blunt end of the Scissor Blade to block a spiked baseball made of gold yelling at her friend, "Mako, get a fucking hold of yourself!"

*CLANG*

Clashing again with her spiked baseball bat Mako replied in a defiant tone, "I can't! Not while we finally have a life of luxury!"

That was when she looked at Mash with a narrowed glare yelling at him in an angry tone, "Mash, how could you?! You were so enthusiastic about the Fight Club when we started! Don't you want to keep winning?!"

Much to her surprise he simply scoffed at the notion explaining himself in a neutral tone his reasoning, "No. Winning won't mean anything if it means facing a friend for someone's barbaric amusement… Ahem! Eyebrows!"

A glare could be felt as he coughed those last words out. But regardless Mako soon disengaged from Ryuko instead of charging after Mash as he dodged all of her attacks with ease.

Ryuko soon saw Mako's family arrive as Barazo spoke in a surprised tone, "Mako what are you…"

Ryuko seeing this smiled lightly as she asked trying to get their help to stop their daughter in a hopeful tone, "Stop! Mako's not in her right mind now! You'll put yourselves in danger if you try to stop her!"

But the family ignored her and went to sit at the audience stands yelling for their daughter's victory as Mash spoke in an annoyed tone, "The fuck, you guys?! Ya ain't gonna try and stop her?"

The only response he got was that they shook their heads seeing their greed overtake them as Satsuki spoke in a neutral tone, "Behold, Matoi! Bastion! This is human nature in its purest form! Prosperity will lead to greed, and greed will lead to downfall! Once they have a taste of worldly pleasures, they are enslaved by them forever! Truly, pigs in human clothing! And pigs, are to be tamed!"

Mako tried to beat down Mash as he dodged scoffing mentally to himself at Satsuki's thoughts of human nature, 'Tch. She's only saying that because she has no fucking clue what the true nature of humans is. It's almost laughable really. And I should know I've seen the Beast Class Servants within the Moon Cell Servers of SE.RA.PH.'

Lightly shivering even recalling one he shook his head focusing his attention on the present dodging each of Mako's strikes whispering to her in a calm tone, "Sorry Mako but you're fighting a losing battle here and I prefer not to harm my friends. Especially since we both know you are holding back."

Mako's eyes lightly widened but shook it off as she tried to attack him cocking her fist in a defiant tone aiming for a slug, "Well, I'm not okay with your choice! I'm never going back to the life I HAD!!!!!"

*WOOOOSH*

However, contrary to what Mash did he simply smiled at her not dodging with a genuinely happy tone as he was sent flying into the nearby wall, "In that case I hope you enjoy it to the fullest."

*BAM*

*BOOOM*

Mash was sent straight into the arena wall, with a loud boom. Ryuko recovered from her shock yelling his name in a worried tone, "MASH!!"

Mako opened her eyes and began to walk toward where she punched Mash in a genuinely concerned tone, "M-Mash…?"

The arena went silent as Mako sprinted to where she launched Mash into the wall. Both Ryuko and Mako began to dig away at the fallen debris. Trying to help get rid of the debris Mako looked back and saw how happy she was with her family, and friends despite being poor.

She realized that her family had fallen apart and even cheered for her to beat her only friends who helped her. She felt immense regret and closed her eyes sobbing for no one stopping her in a saddened tone, "Why didn't you stop me?! Dad, Mom, why didn't you try to stop me?! And you call yourselves parents?!"

Ryuko and Mako kept digging at the debris trying to find Mash as Mako continued speaking in a disheartening tone, "When I became his club member and our lives improved, I thought we had a sparkle in our eyes. But they were nasty glints?! We are the worst! Dad and all of you guys, too! And so am I!!"

*BAM*

*BOOOOM*

Mako's emotions overwhelmed her, and she smashed her fist into the ground, the resulting explosion sent debris flying away and made a small crater. Ryuko had to jump away, and Mako was slumped onto her knees and began to cry muttering, "Mash…. sniff… mash… owie!"

Appearing out of the smokescreen soon revealed to be Mash as he flicked her in the forehead and spoke in a calm tone, "I'm not dead you dolt! But I'm glad to see you finally realized it, huh?"

Tears began to fill Mako's eyes. Mash was alive, his uniform completely fine if not dirty from the debris as she yelled out loud hugging him as tight as she could, "MASH!!!"

Managing to hug him Ryuko rushed down and hugged him too as she spoke in a relief tone, "You dumbass we thought you were…"

She didn't finish the unsaid sentence as he scoffed patting both their heads and responding in a confident tone, "Finished me off after one hit? Please I survived worse than this at least have a world-ending weapon. Besides I'm stuck here with you guys whether you like it or not and who else would make jokes or comments without me around? I can only imagine a tragedy without yours truly around."

Ryuko couldn't help but click her teeth but felt reassured her friend wouldn't be leaving for a while as she looked at him disengaging from the hug, "Sigh… but still though how the hell did you survive that?"

Mash only replied with a smug grin on his face in a confident tone, "I'm very durable."

Mako soon disengaged from the hug and wiped away her tears announcing out loud in a defiant tone, "As of this moment, Fight Club is disbanded! I, Mako Mankanshoku will go back to being a No-Star!"

Ryuko smirked seeing this as she turned to face Satsuki with a confident grin and said in a determined tone, "Kiryuin! Humans aren't as weak as you say they are! People can suppress their desires through sheer willpower!"

Mako soon threw her Two-Star uniform towards Ryuko in her cheerful tone, "Here you go, Ryuko!"

*SHINNG*

Ryuko soon used [Fiber Lost] and the uniform was no more. For some reason, fireworks went off when this happened. Mako's family tore off their expensive clothing and went to reunite with them.

Mash was a bit weirded out by the naked family before they all finally left the school for the day. Meanwhile, two pairs of blue eyes stared at his back as Ryuko thought in a curious tone, 'Sigh… I'm glad that dumbass is alright. But… did he seriously not take any damage from being attacked or did he allow himself to take the hit to get Mako back…'

And the other pair that gazed at his back intently Satsuki Kiryuin thought to herself in a serious tone glaring intently, 'Despite my intention you somehow either through good fortune or your intuition, you escaped without taking any action. Your luck will run out eventually Bastion, and I will have you reveal what you're hiding.'
