Retaliation

Chapter 11: Retaliation.

The Entity then retaliated. Huge plasma bursts came from the Entity's vessel. These were focused down to the very micron of a millimeter. The Entity knew precisely where to attack. Where the vulnerabilities of each enemy vessel were. Laser beams likewise shot out with total precision.

The attacking fleet had only a rudimentary shield. This was no match for the Entity's weapons.

The array of weapons the Entity had available swept remorselessly along the whole fleet. Spacecraft were either simply vaporized or blown apart. The spacecraft became a tangled mess of bodywork, bodies, and debris of all kinds.

There were clouds of micro-bots. They moved in and enveloped the mess that was left.

Everything was minutely analyzed. The Entity wanted all the information it could on this adversary for future reference. There was nothing to stop a new fleet looking for the Entity.

It wanted always to be one step ahead. Nothing was left to chance. Every small detail was analyzed.

The Entity made sure as well that no communication was sent back by the fleet. Their home planet was some 50 light-years away. They had not developed anything approaching light speed up to this point. The Entity was close to achieving this. It too monitored everything from the fleets' planet. The Entity knew they would want revenge at some point, and the destruction of Earth would be very much part of this. It would always have a considerable technological advantage and would be ready for any move they might make in the future.
