The Moonlight Princess

What happens when a high school girl, with a passion for the moon, sneaks into the forest at midnight, just to get a glimpse of the full moon? The answer is simple. She follows the sound of a crying child. Gets to a beautiful waterfall beyond imagination. Jumps into the water just to save a girl that never existed, to begin with. Drowns and dies. Gets reborn in a world where magic is not just a fairytale but real life. Okay, maybe not that simple then again... ————————————————————— Comments from the author: First of all, I would like to say that I do not own the picture and that this is my first time writing a novel myself, so I hope you will see past the mistakes and grammar mistakes in the chapters. Thank you~

memories - part two

After sitting in the corner of the living room, in what felt like an hour.

Ayla had given up, everything was a blur, and she could not remember anything.

"Atlas I give up" she declared.

" try again," he said.

" I don't know how!" she pouted. she had been sitting in that stupid corner forever and had given up. And all she got was ' try again'

how was she supposed to know what to do!

sigh* " Ayla come over here" Atlas called out and stood up from his chair.

He gestured her to sit down on the chair. And as she did what he said, he pulled out a book from one of the bookshelves in the living room.

" have you made yourself comfortable??" He asked, with a small smile. She nodded her head and said; " yes" He nodded his head and reached out his hand so that it was close enough to touch her, and said a spell.

" memories of the dark.

forgotten and sealed.

get deeper in and be revealed.

shadows begone and let her in

past the barriers and sink in.

let the memories of the past be revealed.

don't be scared cause this time it's not real."

As he said those words a magic circle shined under her. She looked up in shock to see Atlas smiling. " Magic," she said, and the World became black.

Ayla slowly opened her eyes as she gained consciousness. From where she stood she could see the clearing in the forest.

But as things became more clear, she saw herself, laying on her back, trapped and hurt, crying while the demon's hand slowly were sliding in under her dress. She watched with tears in her eyes. And at some point, her legs collapsed, and she landed on the grass that felt so real.

She saw herself look up at the moon, trembling in fear, and anger. The other 'her' shouted, with a cry; " grant me the power to fight back!!" And as that happened she saw the other 'her' eyes shine red. And tilted her head, still sitting on the ground as she saw herself breaking the demon's arm and making a sword out of nowhere, and saw her cut the other arm off like it was made of nothing.

watching in shock as she saw herself kill the demon, very, very violent if you asked her. After the demon was cut down, the other 'her' drop the sword and fall onto the ground. After that, the world became black once again.

as Atlas saw Ayla close her eyes and her body became limp his smile disappeared. He knew what she was about to see and that thought did not please him. She may seem mature but she was still a child. And if it wasn't that she needed to understand what had happened when she lost control, he wouldn't have shown it to her.

But something needed to be known and seen. just as something needed to be forgotten and hidden. As time pasted Ayla started crying, but Atlas could do nothing but wipe her tears, as she went through her memories.

Ayla opened her eyes and saw she was back in the living room. She quickly searched for Atlas and saw him standing the same place as before, with a worried look in his eyes. She quickly got up and hugged him tightly, and as he laid his arms around her, the tears started running again.

"Atla- Atlas!" she cried, while still hugging him. "calm down Ayla, I am right here," Atlas said in a calming voice, as he patted her head to make her relax a bit more. She nodded her head but didn't let go. She wanted him close.

After some time she had calmed down and was now sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea. " so I know I lost control, but how??" She asked out of curiosity. She knew that it was most likely because she didn't know how to control mana and magic in the first place.

" you lost it because you lost control of your emotions and because you hadn't learned control over your magic yet" Atlas answered." Then when can I start learning how to control it??" Ayla asked with excitement. " we can start now or tomorrow" He said. " now" Ayla smiled.

" Okay Ayla I want you to sit down," Atlas said while having a staff in his hands.

" kay" Ayla nodded and sat down. " Now I want you to close your eyes, and tell me which feeling was most dominating doing the full moon"

" Anger," she said after a brief moment of hesitation. " Then I want you to focus on that feeling, but this time don't let it go out of control and accept it" As Atlas said she focused her energy on that feeling, but she didn't let it out of control this time, she accepted her anger, and that it was okay to be angry.

" good now I want you to accept your other feelings, accept that it's okay to be weak, that it's okay to be defeated" " accept that you are weak, don't let that be your weakness, and give in to the anger and frustration."

She could accept her other feelings, but she had to look herself in the eyes and accept that she was indeed weak and that before she can become someone strong, she had to accept it, accept that it was okay, and don't let the anger get out of control just because of that.

Things fall apart

to let us know what truly matters.
