Must Spend More!

As soon as she activated her collar, she started to understand what Alice had been talking about. "Hehehe, if master goes out and comes back late again tomorrow, he will definitely call me again! I can't wait for that!" she said to herself, slowly and with a giddy smile.

The little girl was confused and wondered if something was wrong with Alice. She said to herself in a soft voice, "I must not be like this woman!"

Alice heard her and responded, "Oh, I can finally understand you. It took you so long to start talking, huh little girl?"

The little girl was afraid when Alice spoke to her, and she stuttered as she apologized. "I...am..sorry.. please don't throw me away from this place.."

Alice replied, "You are thinking too much. Firstly, I am not in the position to kick you out of this place. That's up to the master. But if I find out that you are doing something to hurt the master, I will definitely kick you out of here myself. Do you understand?"

"I'm sorry. Yes, I understand," the little girl replied.

"You might be wondering why I can suddenly understand you. This is because the collar you have is magical, and only you can use it, so do not lose it. Normally, master would explain this to you, but I'm going to explain it to you now. Listen carefully," Alice said, before starting to explain to the little girl about some of the functions of her own pendant.

Alice knew that the little girl's collar might have different functions from her pendant, so she explained them in a general way.

Alice gave the little girl some time to digest what she had explained to her. The little girl spent some time exploring her collar and discovered that she could actually unlock it easily if she wanted to. However, the moment she took it off, she couldn't hear Nakami's voice anymore. So, she put it back on to finally hear his voice again.

Then, she looked at Alice and gathered her courage to ask, "I can hear our... master's voice from this collar, but I can't stop it unless I take it off my neck. Can you help me, please. Sister?"

"I already told you, I know nothing about your collar. Why don't you try giving it a command or talking to it?" replied Alice.

The little girl gave a command to her collar and it actually worked. She was so happy to know that she was able to control the collar now. There were more types of voices that could be chosen, but she decided to explore them later, as Alice told her to sleep early since it was almost midnight.

Alice offered to let her sleep on the same bed, but the little girl refused. So Alice told her to sleep on the wooden long chair that Nakami had made.

Meanwhile, Nakami had just finished creating new educational videos for Alice and the little girl to learn from. He had compiled all the necessary information that children needed to learn and had posted two 20-minute videos, one for Alice to continue her studies and another freshly made for the little girl.

If he had the time, he would personally teach the little girl, but if not, he would entrust Alice to teach her. Nakami looked at the clock and realized it was already midnight, so he closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Six hours later, he woke up and checked how much 'E' he had received the day before.

He stopped making confession-style videos so that he could focus on creating educational and farming-related content that the girls could learn from. His educational videos have been doing well, generating twice as much income 'E' as before. Nakami realized that the quality of his educational videos had improved significantly and this would lead to more income 'E'.

Nakami had breakfast with Alice and taught her more about science. He instructed Alice to begin processing the potatoes Nakame gathered the previous day, in order to regrow more potatoes. He explained to her that potatoes have the ability to produce more potatoes.

The little girl wasn't present when Nakami was teaching Alice, she had just woken up when he was finished. Nakami decided to meet the little girl before he went out to gather resources, such as stones or metals, at the mining spot later.

"Nakami knocked on the door three times and entered to find the little girl still eating breakfast. He didn't plan on staying for long.

"Hey yo, I hope you're doing well. Here, take these clothes, books, and pens. I want you to learn from Alice. She told me that you can understand her now, right? You can call me Nakami or 'sir,' just like Alice does. I won't be around most of the time, so please listen to Alice's instructions. Do you understand?" Nakami looked slightly serious, but he was just trying to be a little bit more strict.

Nakami didn't wait for her reply since she had been avoiding him since yesterday. As he was about to leave, the girl grabbed the tip of his shirt and began to speak slowly.

"I'm sorry... I was just scared... Please forgive me... sir... Thank you for saving me... sob sob sob," the girl started crying onto Nakami's shirt. Nakami didn't know what to do, so he just patted the girl's head and waited until she stopped crying.

Half an hour later, Nakami learned from her story that she was a slave who was going to be sold to the mining company before she got exhausted and fell to cliff. While she fell, she was given opportunity to go to this world.

Her name was Sarah. She didn't remember much about her family since she was sold at a young age. It was difficult for her to trust anyone as a result. Being a slave made it easier to be betrayed since her previous owners were poor and could be bought with just food or a cup of water.

Her life was miserable before, but now her savior never ordered her to do anything. He fed her and gave her things to use for free. He was so kind to her that she wondered if it was a trick.

However, when Nakami approached her this morning, she could feel how genuinely honest he was in helping her. She felt bad for doubting her savior.

Nakami left Sarah to study and spend more time learning from Alice. He wanted to gather more wood and stone to upgrade his base. He planned to increase the height of the wall surrounding his base and make a few outposts where he could install a ballista or giant bow later.

Before leaving the base with his log cart, he upgraded it by adding a pedal that he could cycle later with the help of a solar-powered engine. It cost him 50E! He had also spent 10E to buy things for Sarah before.

Nakami made a few trips to collect as much wood as he could in 3 hours before starting his trip to mine stones. He managed to make two trips to the mining spot and brought the stones back just outside his base.

Nakami had his lunch alone because Alice and Sarah were busy making ropes, gathering food, and preparing it. He left all those light tasks to the girls since they were meticulous and time-consuming for him to do.

Suddenly, the sky started to get cloudy just after Nakami had finished his lunch. So he decided to use the remaining time to build another brick and wooden roofed house for Sarah, and an extra one just in case someone else would come to the base in the future.

He arranged all the stone and wood he had gathered and decided to upgrade the outer wall while building the house. Nakami also planned to make covered walkways connecting the buildings in his base so that they wouldn't have to stay inside their house when it rained later.

The whole project costed him a lot, but it was needed.

Later in the evening, Nakami had finished building two new houses next to each other, close to Alice's cabin. The houses were fully furnished with wooden furniture, and Sarah could start sleeping there tonight.

Nakami had also finished upgrading the outer wall, which was now entirely made of stone and was almost 10 meters tall. There were wooden platforms on the wall to make it easy for him to defend from long range with a bow in case of attack.

While constructing the covered walkways, he installed a few solar-powered lights to make it easier to move around at night. It was almost 8 PM, and Nakami had just finished cleaning himself. He felt like he had accomplished a lot today and was happy to feel safer now that he was protected by these tall and sturdy walls.

He headed to the newly upgraded dining area to have his dinner. The dining area now has stone walls and a roof made of clay-tiled roofing. The girls were already there waiting for him.
