Guerilla Warfare

Nakami needed to find the werewolves' camp, so he gathered herbs and spices to hide his scent. With his [Night Stalker] ability, he moved silently and hoped to avoid detection.

The disguise seemed to work as he passed some werewolves without being noticed. Feeling confident, Nakami picked up his pace and pushed deeper into the forest to locate the werewolves' camp.

Keeping a close eye on the werewolves, Nakami tracked a group of about 20 werewolves that congregated in a particular spot. He noticed a significantly larger werewolf that appeared to be the leader, scolding some of the other wolves with extreme anger.

Seeing the werewolves' merciless execution pushed Nakami into action. He planned to launch a stealthy attack on their camp that very night, using the grenades he had brought along as his primary weapon, even though it wasn't their main location.

Negotiation was never an option for Nakami, especially after witnessing the brutal treatment the wolves gave to their own kind.

"Ain't no way I'm going to trust these dogs! Even those rabbits were better," Nakami thought to himself as he began unloading the grenades from his backpack.

He decided to throw several of them together, but first, he needed to count them and wait for the majority of the werewolves to gather in close proximity.

As the leader of the werewolves let out a piercing howl, the other wolves quickly gathered around their makeshift camp. The hut, constructed from sticks and covered in leaves, was meager but large enough to house the leader.

Nakami's pulse quickened as he watched nearly 20 wolves assemble in mere minutes.

"This is it," he thought with anticipation, ready to unleash his plan of attack.

With both hands, he hurled the grenades, expertly tied together in bundles of three or four for maximum efficiency. He lobbed almost 20 of them before stopping.

Nakami had trained for this moment, honing his grenade-throwing skills with almost perfect props grenade. In less than a minute, he had bombarded the wolf camp with explosive projectiles.

"Kaboom, booooom, kebaboooooom."

The explosions reverberated throughout the area.

Nakami didn't stick around to watch, fleeing the moment he saw the grenades hit their target. It was a spectacular sight, the late-night darkness was illuminated by the bright and beautiful display.

Nakami knew the werewolves would have been no match for the force of the explosions. After waiting for a while, he cautiously made his way back to check out the site of the blasts.

Nakami approached the site of the explosion cautiously. He braced himself for what he might find, knowing it wouldn't be pretty. Debris and remains were scattered everywhere, and the smell was overwhelming.

After scanning the area, he was relieved to see that no werewolves had survived the attack. With his mission accomplished, he turned to leave, quickening his pace to put as much distance between himself and the destroyed camp as possible.

Nakami understood that the sound of the explosion would draw other wolves to the area. To avoid detection, he washed himself in a nearby river before heading back to his base. He hoped that he had left no trace behind that could lead the other wolves to him. Although he was prepared to fight, he knew that he needed more weapons if he wanted to take on their full force.

He finally reached his base at almost 2 AM, relieved to be back. He noticed that everyone had already gone to sleep, except for Ning who was on guard duty.

When he greeted him, Ning only replied with a simple "hi," so he decided to leave him alone. Wanting to get rid of the smell of the explosion, he quickly washed himself before going to sleep.

Nakami spent his morning improving the walls of the base, adding cannons and two large crossbows. He also made some easier-to-use weapons for the others, such as slingshots, smaller crossbows, and a few muskets. However, he only made a limited amount of muskets, as he couldn't fully trust everyone in the group.

After upgrading the warehouse, Nakami built a large steel vault underground, which only he, Alice, and Sarah knew about. He planned to tell Wenwen about it later, once he fully trusted her.

As he greeted some of the others, he ran into Abe just before noon. Nakami remembered that he had promised Abe a cart similar to the one he had used before upgrading to the truck. He made one for Abe, but it was slightly bigger to accommodate Abe's larger physique.

Nakami took Abe with him to mine for coal, while Ping and Ning rode in his truck. They had to travel slowly because Nakami wanted to show them some other resources, such as mango trees, herbs, and spices, that were scattered along the way to the mining cave. Despite the delay, the road was safe and easy to travel on, thanks to Nakami's previous work in flattening and paving it days before this.

Abe, Ping, and Ning were complete novices when it came to mining. But Abe, being a quick-witted fellow, got the hang of it in no time, leaving Ping and Ning in the dust. Nakami, their guide, worked hard to teach them how to mine with the steel pickaxe as efficiently as possible.

It was a long day, but eventually, they managed to fill both the cart and truck to the brim with ore. By the time they reached their base, it was already early evening, and they were all completely worn out. Nakami kindly suggested they rest until dinner, especially Ping and Ning, who looked absolutely drained.

As Abe, Ping, and Ning made their way to their bunks to catch some much-needed rest, Nakami couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for them.

"I actually feel bad for them. Let's hope they recover soon enough."

Later on, Nakami caught up with Sarah, Alice, and Wenwen in the dining area.

A delicious smell filled the air as they dug into their supper. It was something traditional made by Wenwen that had been passed down in her family for generations. The food was so good that Nakami and others praised Wenwen for that.

As they stepped into the dining area, the elderly couple's eyes widened with amazement. This was their first time here since Wenwen and Alice had voluntarily brought them food to their humble abode.

After settling into their seats, Wenwen hastily scurried to the kitchen to retrieve them a delicious meal, while Alice scurried back to prepare more dish for them to enjoy.

Nakami stood up and walked carefully toward their seats.

"Uh, hello. I am Nakami. I guess we didn't get an opportunity to get to know each other previously," Nakami said as he extended his hand to the elder husband.

He was nervous that his handshake might be rejected, but to his relief, the elderly husband shook his hand while smiling and introduced himself and his wife.

"Hi, my name is Robbert," the man said with a deep, American accent. "This here is my wife, Margaret." he shaked Nakami hand.

"Come on over here and sit next to me, Nakami," said Robert with a friendly smile.

"Alright"

Nakami obliged and took a seat next to the elderly man. They engaged in a pleasant conversation, during which Nakami discovered that Robert hailed from Texas in the early 1900s. Interestingly, they were both the same age, 70 years old.

Nakami resisted the urge to pry into why the couple had ended up in this unfamiliar world. It was a personal matter, and he didn't want to overstep his bounds and ruin their relationship.

"Actually, Nakami, my wife and I would love to help out around here," Robert said firmly.

"We don't want to just sit around and be a burden. Please don't pity us."

Nakami was impressed by their serious expressions and determination. Although he had reservations about finding them suitable work, he agreed to do so.

Then, out of the blue, Robert disclosed that they owned a shirt and cloth factory and had considerable expertise in that field. Nakami saw a chance to tap into their skills and enthusiastically told them about his vision for a small clothing factory.

"That sounds wonderful!" exclaimed Robert. "We'd love to help out in any way we can."

After leaving the couple to their meal, Nakami set to work on constructing new buildings for the production of stationary items such as pens, pencils, and paper.

Alongside this, he began work on the textile factory, which he learned from research would not require overly complex machinery. He planned to build the machines the following day, focusing on completing the factories before dinner.

Nakami's evening was consumed with the construction of his new stationary factory. He used his knowledge and skill to build the necessary machines and materials with his transmutation skill, which came at a total cost of 150E.

Nakami planned to start the stationary factory the next day and get a couple of workers for it. He was already working on a second factory for textile production, but he postponed making the necessary machinery and materials for it until the following day.
