New Fruits

Luck was talking to the owner of the number he had received from Ena.

"Yes, start plowing and watering the land to make it arable."

"Understood Mr. Luck, but what seeds are we going to plant on your land?"

Luck didn't know what to say for a second.

Neither do I! I'll plant whatever seeds Nikolay brings!

"I will bring the seeds soon, you don't have to worry about the seeds."

"Okay, Mr. Luck, tomorrow I'll plow and water the soil, so we can plant the seeds whenever you want."

Luck nodded his head in satisfaction.

"Okay, I'll wait to hear from you."

Hanging up the phone, Luck looked around the café.

Even though he could walk through any door he found and be back home in seconds, Luck chose not to go home.

"Even if I could return to Istanbul from Manisa now, it would attract too much attention and I need to spend some time around."

As he sipped his coffee and watched the people walking by and the young people laughing and joking with their friends, a sad smile appeared on Luck's face.

"I guess I wasted my youth..."

When Luck was young, instead of going out with his friends like other boys, he would just go home, his friends had invited Luck to spend time out with them many times, but he had always refused.

Why?

He had no money!

If he went out to eat and drink like his friends, he would have to go hungry the next day!

During college she had earned some money working part time, so she had enough to hang out with Zack once in a while, but those times were few and far between.

Luck's smile disappeared when he saw a couple holding hands walking along, holding each other in a cute hug.

"Damn brats! They're still in high school and they're walking around showing their love like that!"

A tear fell from Luck's eye.

He was so jealous of that couple!

For a guy like him who had never had a girlfriend, seeing a happy couple was like drinking spoiled milk!

When the waiter at the coffee shop saw Luck's sour face after taking a sip of coffee, he asked anxiously.

"Sir, is there something wrong with your coffee?"

Luck was stunned by the waiter's sudden question.

"No?"

"Is the coffee bitter? I can bring sweetener if you want!"

"No? Why?"

The waiter was surprised when Luck's concerns about his coffee proved unfounded.

"Sir, your smiling face suddenly turned sour after drinking coffee! I thought there must be

something wrong with the coffee!"

...

Gliese

Leaning back and looking intently at his daughters reading the papers in front of them, Nikolai sighed happily.

This is how it should be!

The daughters should work harder so that their father can rest!

At that moment, the door of the room opened and a man with sacks came in.

"Reporting, sir!"

"Speak."

"Sir, I have brought some seeds we found for you to examine, sir!"

Nikolay gestured for him to bring the sacks to him and he opened the sacks in front of him and started to look at the seeds inside one by one.

"lettuce, arugula, tomatoes...anything else?"

"Our men will buy seeds from neighboring towns and cities, sir! These are the only ones we can find here!"

"I don't think 3 kinds of seeds will be enough, but at least if Luck comes here again soon we will have something to give him."

When the two sisters realized that the opportunity they had been looking for had arrived, they agreed wordlessly.

"Dad, if you want, we can go and look for seeds too!"

"Yes, Papa! If we can't please Luck, what if he gives us trouble with the firearms supply?"

Hearing that the supply of firearms might be in trouble, Nikolai was startled out of his thoughts for a moment.

"What did you say? Why would the supply of firearms be in trouble?"

Elsa said with mock seriousness, "Father Luck is very interested in the seeds right now! If we can't please him, he might change his attitude towards us!"

Senna nodded and confirmed her sister.

"Yes, father! What if he starts selling firearms to someone else? That would take away all our advantage!"

Nikolai squinted at Senna and then at Elsa.

"Those brats are trying to fool me again!"

Squinting at his two daughters in turn, Nikolai said, "You stay here and take care of the paperwork, I'll go and take care of the seeds."

The two daughters vehemently opposed their father.

"Father, you are the master of this settlement! How can you go and do something like collecting seeds!"

Nikolai waved his hand as if to say never mind.

"It's nothing! You take care of those documents! The toilets are overflowing again, someone go and check it out!"

Both girls broke out in a cold sweat when their father brought up the toilet report they had previously ignored.

"Senna can go check it out, dad! I'll review the documents here!"

Elsa froze when she heard what her sister said.

"Dad, you know I'm better at administration! Senna only knows how to fight, Senna should go and look into the toilet issue!"

Nikolai could see the flames shooting out of his two daughters' eyes, both of them trying to avoid the toilet business.

"Stop arguing, you'll both go and look! Walking around the compound was fine! It's time you learned how this compound survives!"

When her father spoke in a commanding manner, both girls had nothing else to say.

"Okay dad..."

....

Nikolai breathed a sigh of relief after leaving his two daughters.

"It's a great relief not to have to deal with documents..."

He chuckled as he remembered the efforts his daughters had made to avoid dealing with toilets and sewers.

"Even I used to find excuses not to do it and leave it to others, hahahah!"

Walking through the marketplace of the compound, Nikolai gave a nod of greeting to everyone who recognized him and greeted him, and though he looked around in a relaxed manner, he could not find any other kind of seed.

"As they say, I think they have collected all the seeds in my compound..."

Meanwhile, a fruit vendor, noticing Nikolai wandering around, cut a fruit from his stall and offered it to Nikolai.

"Sir, this is a new fruit from a distant city!"

The fruit the vendor handed him was red on the outside, with green spines and black seeds, although the inside was white.

Realizing that Nikolai was looking at the strangely shaped fruit with wary eyes, the vendor ate the other half of the fruit first.

"Sir, this fruit tastes like a cross between a pear and a kiwi! Sweet and sour together!"

Nikolai's mouth watered with curiosity after seeing the fruit seller eating the fruit, and he took a big bite.

With the sweet and sour flavor filling his mouth, Nikolai exclaimed, "Wow, not bad! Not bad at all!"

Seeing that the fruit he offered to the lord of the settlement was appreciated, the fruit vendor smiled happily.

"Bon appetit sir! It is my job to bring different fruits and vegetables from distant towns and cities!"

Nikolai looked at him with interest after hearing the fruit vendor's words.

"Do you have any other new fruits or vegetables?"

At Nikolai's question, the fruit vendor pointed to another fruit on his stall and said, "Yes, sir! I brought this fruit from the same city I was in!"

Nikolai looked at the fist-sized greenish pear-shaped fruit on the vendor's counter with interested eyes.

Curious about the taste of the fruit in front of him after the delicious fruit he had just eaten, Nikolai reached out his hand and took a bite of the fruit.

"Sir, stop! That fruit cannot be eaten like that!"

The fruit vendor was too late to stop Nikolai.

Already taking a bite of the fruit, Nikolai narrowed his eyes in disgust and spat out the hard core of the fruit stuck in his teeth.

"What kind of fruit is this, are you kidding me?"

Shaking his head fervently, the fruit vendor hurried to explain.

"I wouldn't dare, sir, that fruit is different!"

Spitting on the ground to get rid of the bad taste in his mouth, Nikolai aggressively said, "What do you mean different? You better give me a good explanation!"

The fruit vendor, cold sweat running down his back, hurriedly explained.

"Sir, that fruit was not yet fully ripe! And instead of eating that fruit on its own, you should add it to a salad or dress it with spices."

Listening to the fruit vendor's explanation, Nikolai's anger faded a little, but he didn't show it.

"So you're telling me that you sell unripe fruit here?"
