Chapter 15 In two days?

Athena ran to the courtyard, The sun was up now and the maids had started with their daily duties.

"Where's Alex?"She asked a girl who was carrying a basket to the garden.

"In his room,he didn't let anyone take care of him."The girl said worriedly.She ran towards the army quarters right opposite the maids quarters,they were separated by a little bridge.She knocked but there was no response from the inside,she opened it only to find Alex fast asleep with blood stained on his shirt.

"Alex!!"Athena called running to him as soon as she saw him in that condition.She started unbuttoning is shirt and a smirk played on his face.

"Are you trying to take advantage of me while am in this state?"He asked with a grin.

"What's wrong with you,why didn't you treat your wound?"Athena said worriedly.

"I was waiting for you,I thought you wouldn't come"He said,this time he wasn't smiling nor smirking,he looked serious, Athena was still awestruck by his transformation when she saw his body,he used to be fat with a really big belly but here he was now with a six packs abs, broad chests,shoulders and muscular arms.She took the wet piece of fabric and used it to wipe the blood off his skin,she cleaned his wound while blowing breeze softly on it.

Alex Pov

I knew something was not right between she and the prince."What's wrong"I asked.

"Huh?"She asked back.

"The prince,I noticed there's something wrong,what is it?"I asked again and she stopped for a while and then continued with what she was doing.

"It's nothing,you don't have to worry,okay"Athena said with a smile,i held her chin and lifted it up to meet my gaze,we both stared in each other's eyes for a while.

"It'll take a lot more than this to kill me okay"I said,she hit me playfully and I groaned, pretending to be in pain and fell on the bed,still groaning.

"Heavens,did it hurt,let me see"She said worriedly and as soon as she was close enough, I hauled her and she fell on top of me I hugged her tight making it unable for her to move.

"Let's stay like this,just for a while,this is how much I missed you."

"But your wound"She said.

"Shhh,I think am getting better already"I said.

In The King's war plan room where the councils were gathered around the table filled with a mini-Alfie land containing the four kingdoms made out of blocks.

"So what do you want us to do Prince Nathan?"General K asked.

"Train the soldiers non-stop,double the securities,we can't just sit back and do nothing when we know Dragon empire might be planning an attack on us."Prince Nathan said.

"Brother is right,we can't just sit here and do nothing,we can't be relax despite knowing one kingdom that has never been defeated in war since the beginning of time might unexpectedly launch an attack"Prince Joseph added.

"That's true my prince,but we can't hold our defenses against actual fire-breathing gigantic dragons."General Kristan said stating a fact.

"Father,why are you silent?"Nathan asked.

"There's nothing there to say,you are both right,we can't just relax and we don't have strong defenses against King Darius Dragons."King Aaron said.

"We all know king Darius does not have a female child and the last female is his old mother,Queen Irene who is now old and feeble."Nathan said.

"Yes we have an advantage,she won't be able to summon more than two dragons to assist the king"Joseph said.

"Are you crazy,two dragons alone is enough to bring the Cranes castle down"Elvis said.

"And do not forget about the skills they possess."King Aaron said.

"Especially the royal family"Nathan added.

"What's so special about their skills,I mean Cranes kingdom is also known for our exceptional skills."Joseph said.

"Oh no my prince, our armies are skilled but the dragon king and princes fight like gods.They are exceptionally swift in combat and could slice your head without even you realizing."Strategist Luke,the kingdom's strategist said.

"If a dragon blood wield a sword and uses it to strike you,trust me you wouldn't see a tiny ounce of blood on their sword."Nathan said.

"What,I didn't know about that"Prince Joseph said.

"You have never came in contact with Dragon bloods before,I and king Darius were friends at first but our friendship ended when he sent dragons on our kingdom and declared war."King Aaron said."They are direct descendants of Queen Ava the first ruler of dragon empire,but the gift to control Dragons was only passed down to royal females,Queen Irene is the last of them and since he didn't bore a female child when his mother dies the dragons will loose their way, going berseck and most probably turn against them also."King Aaron said.

"But we won't be safe either,Queen Irene have kept the dragons in control all these while if she dies,The land of Alfie will crumble in flames."Strategist Luke said.

"What are your orders your majesty?"General K asked.

"Make contact with King Epirus of Stones kingdom and tell them we would like to trade with them, our weapons for their irons."King Aaron said."It's time we swallow our pride and prepare for the worst"

"Yes your majesty."

"Uhm, Kristan what about the admission letter we sent to the Warriors temple for Xavier's trainings?"The King asked.

"They sent word your majesty,I will bring the scroll to you right away"General K said.

"Father,do you really think Xavier would go?"Prince Nathan asked.

"If he really has passion for swordsmanship,he won't think twice."

"But he also has passion for studying medicines"Elvis said.

"Let's here his decision first,even if he refuses,he would be forced to go.He also has a role to play in this kingdom and as a prince."The king said and General K came in with a scroll in his hand,he gave it to the king who opened it hesitantly.

"What does it say your majesty?"Nathan asked.

"It states that they accept our proposal and will train Xavier for five years and he would return afterwards."King Aaron said with a smile on his face."Call the young prince"He ordered one of the guards.

Xavier came in after receiving the king's call."Yes father"he said.

"Congratulations Son,The warriors temple accepted you"King Aaron said.

"Are you serious Father,I was accepted to learn swordsmanship?"Xavier asked in delight,his eyes shining with stars.The king nodded and he literally leapt for joy.

"You shall prepare now,you will be on your way there in two days"Prince Nathan said and Xavier stopped.

"In two days?"He asked with a worried face."Can't I have more time,maybe like a year or six months?"He asked.

"No Son,two days"The king said and Xavier bowed before leaving the war plan room.

"Why the sudden change of mood?"Prince Joseph asked.

"It still amazes me how much he has changed,he used to be a brat."Prince Nathan said.

"Perhaps the maid girl,Athena,did have a good influence on him"The king said.
