" Smashing wig!" Ch 4

Previously: I found duke's secret night dress and now I am getting exposed.. Hehe

And after all that deja vu I'm standing here, Clara is inside my bedroom standing with her little excited face.

I sigh and sit on my bed, " so you think I have boyish vibe in me?" Clara nods aggressively.

I look at the still standing girl. (At least she didn't find out.) Clara closes her distance as my danger senses kick in.

"So, why did you come in my room this late at night?" I nervously ask. "Because I want to kiss you." I sigh again.

"You're bold but I'm married so no," Clara closes the two inches distance too and I back out further inside my bed. Her face is all red from heat.

"Clara go to your room!" I scream while she climbs on the bed,

(help me)

I close my eyes as I feel someone approaching me "Clara please go away!"

A sudden sound was heard as if someone was yeeted away followed by Clara's voice

"Ouch!"

I quickly open my eyes just to find Clara sitting 10 feet away from me as confusion arise in her face.

(Did she throw herself mistakenly?)

I narnow my eyes as Clara begins to utter strange things,

"What are u saying?" Clara shifts her head towards me.

"Mistress I think I know why your aura is so different. "

I raise my eyebrow not understanding shit,

"Mistress it's like the old people said, a destruction will hit this kingdom and someone with a pure soul and ancient powers will save this kingdom!"

"What do you mean?" I stare blankly.

"You just threw me away with your power and your aura is also white which is pure as it can be."

I just stare blankly as I process the words.

(Ain't the female lead the one who saved the kingdom , even though the villainess had power it never reacted in the novel, then again I didn't read the epilogue.)

Clara stares at me as I push her out of the room again, closing the door with a big bang. I switch off all my lanterns and open the window to let the moonlight come through. I lay on the bed with my wig on because I forgot to take it off. I now stare at the window.

(It's my first day and it's already tiring.) I close my eyes and drift into eternal slumber.

I wake up at midnight from the cold wind coming from the window. (It's summer so why am I shivering?)

I rub my eye as the window shuttle makes noises by moving from the wind.

(It's kinda creepy. )

Suddenly I look towards the door that starts opening slowly.

"What in the horror movie is this?"

A black figure slowly comes to view as my face deepens with fear. After a few minutes later the black figure is revealed by the moonlight as I scream in shock.

"Ghost of the butler!" Suddenly the ghost coughs.

"Duchess it's not ghost of the butler, but the butler."

My nerves slowly calms down as I fix my dress, while fixing the dress the butler inspect my clothing that was revealed in the moonlight.

"So what brings you here?" I speak in my heavenly manner.

"Duchess, the ghouls are moving towards the West, so it would be best to keep the windows shut and light the lanterns."

I smile, nodding in agreement while the butler lights up the flames of the lanterns, closes the windows, bows and goes away shutting the door.

(I almost forgot that ghouls exist, not to mention the duke released ghouls in Scarlet's room one time but-)

I look at the lanterns ( I can't sleep with these.)

I wake up my eyes covered in dark circles and filled with tiredness. (I couldn't sleep a bit because of this lanterns. ) I yawn as I walk towards the hallways, opening the door.

(I need a shower.)

I mutter as my body wobbles like a zombie.

(It's my second day and I'm already bored.) I walk towards the shower room, enter it and close the door.

(timeskip)

"Hah! this tea is refreshing."

I speak in a high pitched tone. My head to toe covered in the fragrance of flowers, with the black gown I wore matching my hair.

The maids were gossiping about the sudden change of atmosphere as the dining fills up with the scent of flowers. I sip my tea and give a smile.

(Good thing I used that flower of fragrance while showering. I'm truly an angel.)

Just when the mood was getting bright that weird butler starts coming towards me. (Old man has an unreadable face.)

I narrow my eyes on him. "Yes?" I speak in my heavenly manner.

"Duchess, after breakfast you're study session starts at the library."

(Right I forgot the duchess was illiterate since she was emperor's child, whenever she didn't want to study emperor would grant it)

I slurp my tea and nod as the butler goes away. (Though I doubt she would have a tutor at these age. )

I shove away the unexisting dust and start walking towards the door. Two guards open the door for me. I let out a chuckle and the guards blush a little.

(I'm such a beauty) I flip my hair and the guards faint on spot.

"I knew I was too pretty"

[You do realise that they fainted because you smacked them in the face with your wig.]

"I indeed am a beauty."

I keep walking, feeling happy as ever which doesn't last long.

....

"Where the hell is the library?!" I scream

(I've been walking for two hours now. )

I am currently panting and looking for each door to find the library but instead every door leads to a bedroom.

(Just how many beds does this man need!? and where did that old man go? )

I keep walking or more like stomping, furious with myself and this castle.

After finding another door I rush towards it pulling the handle aggressively.

"I swear if this is another bedroom-"

I freeze on spot. It was an office, with both side shelves which had books and in the middle was a table and a chair, Paperworks were scribbled on the table as sunlight enters the room from the back window.

(Woah, is this the duke's office?)

I step inside scanning every corner.

(I remember when the duke was divorcing Scarlet, he sat in this very office and the female lead stood beside him.)

I grit my teeth, a sense of anger building iniside my heart.

(Though the novel never mentioned his office to be this beautiful but I can't help but fall for it.) I brush through the books and suddenly a gust a of wind enters the room making the paperworks fly every where.

"Ah-" something lands on my hand, I narrow my eyes focusing on the little paper.

(It's a letter...) I notice a rose stamp beside it. and I quickly recognise it, my eyes eager to know the words.

"This stamp is-"
