"Our family is monstrous!" Minerva shouted, for not the first time in the last few minutes.
"We possess natural abilities beyond that of a normal person," Leon countered. "We SHOULD be using them to maintain order and control over the population."
They had been fighting like this for nearly half an hour since the decision to make me a knight. Their arguments ran in circles, frequently landing on the same point more than once. What would be done about the nobles still held in the castle? What would be done about Minerva's confession to murder?
Even General Dayton was starting to show some impatience with their bickering. There were real problems that needed solving, and arguing over the philosophical merits of rulership didn't seem to be moving the kingdom in a more stable direction.
"Might we break?" I asked, "just for a while?"
Minerva shot me a frustrated glare. "Please?" I mouthed. Her face softened.
