Chapter Fifty-two

The doctor was inside with Jay and that rude man, Alfredo. Jay had wanted her to stay but seeing the look on Alfredo's face, she opted to stay outside and assist in making breakfast for him. The maids were used to her presence and they tried to keep their chatters at bay because the atmosphere was gloomy enough. At the back of her mind was Alfredo, the guy hated her guts and she was no longer comfortable. She recalled what he had said when they called him to inform him that Jay was sick, he had yelled at her, "what have you done to him? ", over the line and she had to go contrary to her nature to talk calmly else, she would have blasted him as he deserved. But then, Jay's life was on the line and this bastard was the only one who could help. 

"Seriously bro, sex during healing process, who does that? ", Alfredo asked his friend who had been put on drip in the bed. He had over exerted himself the doctor had said and when asked what he did, he only thought of sex and he was wondering right now if he had betrayed Bella. The doctor was almost done packing when Alfredo started his outbursts and Jay could not wait for him to exit the room. "Do call my girl for me on your way out doc", he pleaded. The good natured old man nodded, took his things and left. "Alfredo,", he began, "I'm not blind to the way you act towards Bella, the way you look at her, talk to her and everything. I'm not comfortable in any way and I would have you know that she's my woman and I expect that you accord her the due respect she deserves. Bella is mine, get that into your dumb skull ", he said angrily. Yeah, he was very observant and he did not miss how Bella shrunk whenever Alfredo was around and the hateful glance the latter gave her. Alfredo had to know his place and limits, and he was more than willing for her sake of course, to show him his place. Bella entered, seeing Alfredo still there, she looked like a trapped animal, "Come Bella, I sent for you ", he said gesturing with his free hand. She approached him tentatively, "Does it hurt? ", she asked with such moving softness ," Yes ", he said but quickly added, "But it would not as much as pinch if you lay beside me ", he opened the duvet cover for her to enter. "You sure? ", she asked, with one knee on the bed, and when he nodded reassuring, she entered. Alfredo could not believe his eyes, and trust Bella, she snuggled closer to him and gave a look of high importance to Alfredo, the guy had been defeated and she hoped he stayed down there. Jay took her in his free arm and she tried her best not to cause him pain. "I got to go tidy up some work related issues. Be strong buddy", he said rising up almost too quickly, he was beaten so he could at least do with some wound licking dignity. Jay cared less and bade him goodbye. As soon as he left, he felt Bella loosen up, "Do not worry my love, he would not be troubling you again ", he said to her and she probably did not hear him, 'Hmmm? ' she had said and he continued, "Alfredo and I had a little chat, I noticed he was being rude to you, so I had to check him ", he explained and could feel her smile. "You shouldn't have ", she said. "Why? ", he asked her, "Because I can take on him anytime, any day ", she said. They both started laughing, "Oh I'm sorry, I forgot you were my fiesty, fiesty munchkin ", he said and placed a kiss on her forehead head. "Do not call me that or I'll bit you ", she warned and there was more laughter.
