"Isabella, are you alright?" Dante's concerned voice sounds like it is from miles away.
"No way. He is dead," I keep murmuring to myself.
"He is alive Isabella. He didn't die," he says, shaking me at the same time as if to wake me from my nightmare.
"But how? I saw him dead with my own eyes. We buried him. How is he here and-" I swallow the lump in my throat. "Impossible."
"You are seeing for yourself, Isabella. He wasn't buried. We replaced his body and took him away before he could die."
"What?"
The abomination of the act sounds disgusting itself.
"Then whom did we bury?"
"It doesn't matter. What matters is that we saved your father," he responds without flinching.
