Chapter 44: Here Comes the Bride
Aurora's POV
Four days here had felt like an eternity in a maximum-security prison. I’ve been dragged from house to house to house to ensure that I don’t run away. They were my constant babysitters, and I was always supervised.
Julie and Lawrence left me in my mother’s old room whenever I was in their care which was most of the time. Patricia and Chad would just sit with me at the dining room table at their house until Patricia and I started our daily arguments. It was often due to her taking sh*t about my mother. I wouldn’t talk about her in my presence especially when she wasn’t here to defend herself.
Aaron and Rachel’s house was different. Aaron went to work as Alpha and Rachel played babysitter of the year. She tried to offer me things that would keep me occupied. I normally just took a book from her, and we sat and read in silence.
