CHAPTER 62

  "Happy birthday, Terran!" She exclaimed, and the once-bright smile on my face evaporated in an instant as I stared in astonishment at her, frozen on the spot with my body numb, while she sang the entire birthday song.

   

  As the words escaped her lips, a few seconds felt like a lifetime. "Happy birthday, Terran." Her hands clapped with delight.

   

  Birthdays were never something I was interested in; they were a waste of time. My family knew better than to wish me on any of my birthdays because I never found a reason for them. I had forgotten that I was born for most of my life because I felt no need to commemorate it.

   

  Although some years ago there happened to be a short period of my life where I was made to believe that I should always celebrate my birthdays, after various attempts at getting me warmed up to the term "birthday", some unspeakable things happened on the supposedly glorious day, and ever since, I vowed never to celebrate it.
