Honeymoon, soon

"Rome," she called softly, she knew he was listening so she spoke. "I want to be a vampire; I want to take the risk to be with you."

Rome looked at her and his eyes shone with emotion, the intensity she had never seen in them. She said nothing and just looked back at him. "Frankie," he mentioned her name rarely and there was this thing that lighted in her when he said her name. His hands reached for hers. "I shouldn't have been selfish in this marriage, dragging you to the mess with me, you deserve so much better…"

She stopped him with a kiss. When she pulled away, she shook her head. "Never say that, you are so much better and more, I am the luckiest one, we are going to pull through, I promise."

Rome hugged her and she hugged him back, it was an emotional moment and she could feel it. She had no idea what his world looked like, but if it was with Rome, she was ready to be anything. She laughed; this is what love did to people. "Frankie," he whispered and she smiled at how sweet it sounded coming from him.

"So when are we doing this?" she felt Rome tense and then he pulled away and they looked at each other silently.

"Let's make it three weeks from now, the earlier the better, but if I could delay this, I would, Love."

She smiled a bit. "So, is it painful?" He nodded and she gasped. "What?"

"You will be bitten by a vampire and then you'll suck his blood…"

Frankie screamed. "What?" the thought of drinking someone's blood, no, yuck!

"Then your body will take around a week to transform, not every human can handle being a vampire, some die, some become crazy monsters who need to be killed for the safety of everyone, while very few become vampires." He wasn't even looking at her.

"What if I turn into a monster? Will you kill me, Rome?"

Rome looked at her and then looked away and sighed. "I will be forced to, but I swear if you turn to one, I will kill myself too." That wasn't encouraging at all, but was there a better option?

"I think I am sleepy," she said as she got under the covers. Rome didn't move, watched her with a little smile on his lips.

When she lay down, he moved and kissed her forehead. "I will go attend to something, I wanted us to go for our honeymoon tomorrow if that's fine with you."

She opened her eyes immediately. "Honeymoon?" she asked.

He nodded and pecked her lips playfully. "Don't you want to go?"

She shook her head, and her eyes shone. "Where are we going?"

Rome smirked and she knew he was telling her nothing, this sly man of hers. "That would ruin the surprise, right?"

She knew how she was going to get information from him, for now, she needed sleep, what she had heard and decided was too much for her little self to bear. "Goodnight Mr. Sly. Just so you know I hate packing."

He nodded as he got off the bed. "I know that very much." And he winked at her.

The next day, she woke up to noises in the house. In alarm, she sat up on the bed quickly and looked around when she heard Mag's laugh downstairs. A pissed-off expression took over her face where fear had been. She looked at Rome's side, it was tidy and looked cold and she knew he had either gotten up early or not slept at all.

After taking a shower and wearing a black short jumpsuit with white sneakers and walked downstairs. The boys were in the kitchen having breakfast and laughing so carefree that she smiled at the door where she stood. Mag was seated on the kitchen island eating the apples on the bowl, Ralph was seated on a stool like the mature person he was, and he was sipping tea as Rome stood beside him eating a banana.

Rome seemed to sense her presence because he turned to her with a smile and when he took in her outfit he smiled. She arched a brow before walking in and gave him a peck on the lips, which he groaned unsatisfied but she had already walked away. Tapping Raph on the shoulder was a greeting and when she moved to Mag he jumped from the island and hid behind Ralph.

"Stay away from me, I don't want to be killed because of you."

She rolled her eyes at his childishness and poured herself tea, picked a sweet cake, and sat at the table munching as she looked at the boys. Rome's predatory eyes were watching her. "You want to say something?" she asked as she bit her cake, chewing leisurely. He only groaned and looked away.

"Franks, are you guys reallt going on a honeymoon?" Mag asked as he pinched her cake but she swatted his hands away.

"Bad dog."

He faked a gasp as he licked his fingers and then turned to Rome. "Your wife called me a dog!"

Rome ignored him smoothly and she realized that he and Ralph were talking about the country's economy and how the U.S was affecting their foreign market, she didn't even listen to that, economics wasn't exactly her thing and the last thing she wanted was to listen to it in the morning.

Picking her plate of cake and cup, she was walking out of the kitchen when she was grabbed on the waist and crashed with someone. With a sigh, she turned to Rome. "What if I poured tea on my clothes?" she asked seriously.

Rome pursed his lips and she knew what he was thinking. She narrowed her eyes and he dropped the look. "Where were you going?" he asked instead.

"Away from this depressing talk early in the morning."

Rome gave her an angelic smile. "We can talk about anything you like."

Ralph had this look of disbelief in his eyes and Mag scoffed. "What did you expect, Rome has only eyes for her." He picked another apple.

Ralph muttered something under his breath but they all heard it loud and clear. "Maybe I should also get married,"

Frankie said nothing to that. She only pitied the woman who was going to be his wife.
