It wasn't just the old king who was feeling fatigued. As Celia slowly walked away from his apartments, she started feeling very tired herself.
She quickly had to put aside any thoughts of a nap, however. When she returned her own chamber, she found a bright eyed Sabine.
"My lady, you're finally back! There's about to be a poetry reading and then a luncheon in one of the western gardens. You'll join me, won't you?"
Celia wanted to groan out loud in disappointment but when she saw her friend's excitement, she couldn't say no. "I suppose I have to, don't I? You look ready to turn somersaults."
Sabine clapped her hands, then pulled Celia out the door. "Everyone seems so cheerful here, my lady. And there always seems to be some fun event on, no matter what hour of the day. Do you think it's because the king was crowned so recently and the people are still celebrating?"
