They took the lift, barely having enough time breathe. Shane and Sergio had screwed up big time. At this rate, they all would be left for dead. Leroy doesn't know what they had done. But he definitely knows that they need to save his colleagues downstairs.
As the lift closes, he sees the place fully cluttered with pots and pans in the sink. Tables and chairs in disarray. He didn't mind living outside. He still remembers his father kicking him out over a disagreement. He should have known better to stay away from the bad side. He however does not appreciate how they have to rush their way out. With his disdain, they finally hit the medical floor where armed men were waiting.
"Get these bastards!" A big, puffy man yelled as men clamored with large shields and batons. All fitted to the teeth with thick armor, recklessly charging at the Supers. Shao Lin bursts a pipe in the ceiling as she pushes them away down the corridor. Instantly drenching herself in the process.
"Get them out quick!" She calls out as the group rushes through the flooded corridors into the room. Water nearly covering their knees, being more of a nuisance getting around. While she watches them storm into the room, nurses screamed like gangsters, she looks at herself. Continued being showered by the waterfall of water. Her dry clothes now wet again. Just like the clothes she originally had.
She hated it back then. The swirling gush of liquid all surrounding and pushing her down. Her clothes would be all sticky and uncomfortable, her hair would be in disarray and the air always felt cold. Rather unbearable. All until that day. She clutched a pool of water on her hands. Her savior, her teacher.
She looks back to see everyone out, Ken still struggling to get himself back out with Alfred moving about slowly. The water was thick after all. She threw a gush of water behind, clearing the lumbering men with a slippery path up the flight stairs.
"What about Victor and Atsuki?" Sylvie frantically asked. Her brother probably still unconscious, healing his wounds. They claim that the liquid would speed up the healing, but six hours of treatment was not enough.
"Look I'm sorry, but they have to be left for dead. If we don't go now, we will also be done for like them!" Leroy shouted at Sylvie as she sighs in knees and in tears. She was really worried for his health, especially since she was the doctor. She hates leaving her patients for dead. A loud crack catches their attention. Men trying to squeeze out of the lift doors, preparing to aim at them. With a kick of the lift doors, pushing them down into the abyss, Maximilian pulled up Sylvie from her knees and rushed up the stairs.
It was paranoia, loud noises all around the stairwell. At least it was only one flight of stairs. Why did she not think about her actions? She really hates herself now. But no matter. They ran to the van, barely able to squeeze in properly with eleven people in the van. "Move your metal cogs off my leg! It's pulling my flesh off!" Derek complained, squeezed into the window as Baku is cramped, on top of his legs, rather uncomfortable in the third row by Ken, still confused as to what is going on, as he tries to sit away from the drenched Shao Lin. Conscious as to the uncomfortable velvet seats. Now fully soaked and reeking of a nasty smell.
In front, Leroy scurrys to the front and tries to start it up, but the engine was too cold. The gauges all in the wrong places as the car, seemed absolutely eager yet annoyed to be awoken from her slumber creaked the pistons frantically as the fans spooled.
"Shit."
He looks up to see the same black Tesla staring down at the cornered van. It's electric whirl seemingly angry and impatient to prove it's technical superiority. He looks back and finally sees the temperature of the engine hitting its normal temperature.
"Finally."
He drives off, making a little skid towards exit as the Tesla moved to chase his van.
"Team Two block him!"
He turns around to see several futuristic black Ducatis flanking the doors, attempting to shoot the driver as he aimed directly at his head with his shotgun. Fearing death, Leroy rams one into the wall, slamming onto a fender of a SUV as he drifts around the pillars and towards the wide spiral ramp that etched out into the blinding light.
"Faster!"
The Tesla tries its best to tailgate, attempting to stop the show off as he drifts up the spiral ramp, barely avoiding a black Mercedes trying to stop him.
"Tell him to watch our car! It's new!" The man shouted on the mike, flying by the Mercedes who had reached the bottom of the ramp and spun itself around to face them. Closing the gap while heading out of the ramp and onto the second floor.
"Not so fast!" Leroy grinned as he brake checked the Tesla, taking out the other bike behind him in the process who screeched, faceplanting a pillar as the bike struck him from behind. The Mercedes driver, who was rather distracted at his impressive stunt driving slams into the rear of the Tesla, crushing the poor man between both of the cars and pissing the Tesla driver off.
"For fucks sake!"
Everyone in the van cheered as he proceeds to drift on one lane. Barely meeting the small bollards separating the two lanes. He peers behind, the german brute and the cold hearted american steel closing in. But his driving skill far exceeded theirs. Catching a stare of infuriation and a tinge of fear as they sprayed bullets away. All of which dissapointingly missing the dark occupants and squealing tyres on the other side.
"Open the barriers NOW! I cannot afford to be punished by her!" He shouts into the mike with italian slang. Ahead of Leroy's van, bollards emerged at the entrance with men all firing shells of lead. Slamming into the weak monster with hissing and smoke.
"Hold on!" He shouts as the car launches itself high and above the bollards, its wheels grinding the men, pushing them down onto the hard tarmac with it's wheels. Behind them, the Tesla fails to gain enough speed and slams into the bollard. The Mercedes right behind was no better.
"Shit!"
Shane watches as the Tesla's front crumples, flipped over and falling onto it's side with shattered glass. The Mercedes meanwhile flies over the bollard and smashed down hard onto the Tesla with a loud crunch. It's suspension breaking and it's wheels collapsing as it skids into the traffic.
"Ouch, they both looked new!" Maximilian looks back as Leroy drifts down onto the street. Police cars and black vehicles all hot on their tail.
She stares back, riding further away from the dark tower. Hoping that they would be fine.
Hopefully...
Meanwhile down at the chambers
Victor closes his eyes, still thinking of his uncompromising treatment he had done to the bad guys he fought against. All mostly dead despite following protocol. Was he really that uncompromising and brutal like what Atsuki said? He sighs. All he wanted to do was provide peace and security.
"At the expense of their own life." He is jolted awake by a woman in his mind. It was definitely not a dream. He looked to his left, shaking him up noting how they both were naked, except all were in terrible shape. His eyes struggling to not flutter in the green liquid. He looks down to see his right leg tilted away awkwardly. The green liquid had been fast, but not fast enough as he groaned. The twisted bones barely moved back in it's place He turns his attention to the woman, Atsuki.
"Aren't you also like me to some extent? Ruthless in your methods to just kill? He shot back. She was just as ruthless as him. Even though she definitely did not killed her parents unlike him.
"Yes. That is why I hate myself the most. I do not know what I did to you after what it had done. But I hope you are in better shape now..."
"Guess we are not as uncommon as we had thought..." he looked at her with an uncomfortable smile. Her face still as usual with disdain but with a tinge of pain from her shattered hip, absolutely destroyed beyond recognition. Just then a large squadron of armed men and women storms into the room. All with large rifles as they aimed at the duo without any emotion.
He closed his eyes in fear. He was just a pilot. A normal human being unlike the others. But there seemed to be no response. He opens his eyes to see the men and women hang to dear life with fear. The guns now pointed at their face directly with their fingers at the trigger.
"And just like that, the pigs squeal. Helpless at their plight. Just like anyone who had been abused," with such cold words, they fired. She continued, "That is the last time I'm doing this. What now?"
"We must go."
He pulls out the wires connecting to him. He groans with pain as blood began to spew from his neck and polluting the green liquid into a murky ooze. He bashes the already weak fists onto the glass. Once. Twice. Thrice. Each impact causing his knuckles to bleed and polluting his vision
"Argh!!!" With one final impact, he finally smashes his way through. His hands starting to fidget with his knuckles hot red as he lands on the ground spotting Atsuki above. All relaxed from her hidden emotions with the glass shattered into dust in the oozing green liquid now overflowing the lab.
"I have an idea. Just turn around," still dazed, he quickly got the memo, changing into their outfits as they limped slowly down the building. The lifts were unfortunately fully packed from a huge incident. They did not know what happened, but the good news is that since everyone is distracted, no one was really there except for three men. A piece of cake.
"Hey-"
With three loud cracks in unison, the screaming trio all fell to their knees. Somehow not alerting their colleagues up above. Nice. They quickly got onto the cabin. Facing away from the tunnel.
"What is this?" She questioned as he slam several levers, moving the train towards the rusty buffer stops.
"Shit."
He yanks them back randomly, he didn't know what he was doing but the reversing train managed to get into action, though annoying slow as men, who had just arrived to aid their 'ex-colleagues', began to shoot at the train's internals. Lighting up with sparks and loud hisses. But it was too late. With slight disdain at their futile efforts, Atsuki lift down concrete support one side of the tunnel. Blocking their path. As the large piping and concrete fell onto the tracks, he couldn't help but sigh in uncertainty, slouching in the cockpit in the boiling heat.
So long... for now...
Congratulations, they are now homeless Shane.
